Kyra turns as she hears the shriek and spots the little creature, but can't seem to recall what the thing is exactly.
She takes a moment to let the blanket hang open and then tosses it towards the area her elven companion pointed out!

Carilain attacks the tiny demon again. But the black blade whined with disappointment as it missed.

The young cleric began stepping over Anevia's prone body while calling out to Sarenrae to provide aide for the woman. He reached down and touched her before turning to face the half orc.

SOrry about that mini disapearance, I got a bit ill but all better now!

"Anevia!" Kyra calls out as the young woman collapses beneath the suddenly appearing orc. "I'll kill you, bastard." The dervish gives herself over to the sudden righteous fury she feels pouring in from her goddess, her lithe body swaying with the power of the dance... She then charges her weapon with some of her own arcane power and twirls forward, bringing her blade around towards the orc!

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 9 Annnnnd a miss!

Alesie watches in horror as the half-orc appears and feels Anevia, her bow dropping from her hand, and bouncing loudly on the floor.

after a moment of indecision, Alesie rushes the back of their new opponent, pulling out her morningstar as she goes.
"you... I.... gods, their has already been so much death." She cries, lashing out with the morningstar.

Carilain tries to maintain his focus on the quasit. It is a dangerous foe as well. Grimstar's vocalizing is a little distracting, and annoying. Clearly the sword has been too long in Hargus's vault. Enough melodrama! Try to keep it professional, there, Grimstar. Carilain admonishes the sword, silently.

Grimstar gave a triumphant ring as it connected with the little demon. The quasit gave a horrid shriek as the black blade clove through its body, and it disappeared in a puff of brimstone.
The sword vibrated with a combination of excitement and smug satisfaction.

Seeing the half-orc materialize and strike down Anevia, and with the quasit taken care of, Thetin moved to attack.

Frustrated at Keldon's blocking his attacks on Anevia, the half-orc screams vile orcish imprecations as he attacks Keldon and Kyra with his ranseur.

Radiance crashed through the Half-Orc’s defenses, some of his skin shattering and flaking away under the golden warhammers strike.

This was not going to be a foe the fell easy. Keeping his guard up he called out to Sarenrae to provide aid for his companions, Feeling her favor he reached over and touched Thetin, the goddess granting him enhanced strength.

Well, that sucks. Guess I'll be throwing Grimstar away and doing the rest of my characters levels as wizard.

"Stone skin caused by some kind of magic item." Carilain mutters absently. There is a wayward sword to deal with. You got my father killed, didn't you? Just like you tried to do to me, just now. Carilain is furious with the untrustworthy blade.
There is a fight to win now though. Keeping his guard up, Carilain shifts for advantage and strikes at the half-orc.

Thetin continues his attack. Again he hammered through the orc’s defenses to stagger him with this latest hit. The enemies greyish skin flakes off altogether, leaving smooth greenish skin.

Grimstar bites deep into the half-orc's side, and he drops to his knees, still cursing. Feebly, he tries to attack Anevia again, but blood fountains from his mouth and he keels over dead.
The black blade keens with satisfaction, then grows quiescent.

I have no use for a weapon that can't control it's basest urges. Carilain mentally tells the sword. Still, he takes time to wipe the blade, before putting it away.
Carilain casts detect magic, and scans the half-orc with his arcane sight. He checks the quasit's corpse as well.

AS soon as the half-orc drops Thetin immediately rushes over to Anieva. "Kelden how is Aneiva."

"That is an excelent question."

He said quietly kneeling beside the woman, his hands carefully moving to acertain her status.

With a short prayer to his goddess he held his holy symbol close to his heart and concentrated a wave of pure positive holy energy awashing them.

After Keldon channels, Anieva looks a great deal better.
"I'm alright..." She muttered as she staggered to her knees.
Frowning, she reached out and pulled off the half-orc's helm. She studied the face, then pulled down one of his gauntlets revealing prison tatoos.
"What the hell...?" She wondered aloud as you see recognition flood her face.
She pulled his mouth open and yanked out the tongue, which had a demonic symbol tattooed there.

When a brief search turned up no dead bodies, Anieva sagged against a wall; simultaneously relieved and disappointed.
"She's not here. So Vagorg didn't get her. But where IS she?" She wondered aloud.
Thinking a bit, she went to the polished steel mirror mounted on the wall. Feeling along the edge, there is a click and it levered out on hidden hinges.
Behind the mirror was a hidden space with shallow shelves. On them are fitted five little potion bottles and a note. The bottles are color coded and neatly labeled; two potions of cure moderate wounds and three potions of invisibility.
Anieva grabbed the note and quickly read it through. She sagged onto the bed with relief, the note falling out of her hand. "She's alright." is all she said.

Vagorg had some fanciful hide armor on him made of a creature you cannot identify. He had a satchel with some food, a bedroll, a wavy edged ceremonial dagger wrapped in treated human skin, and forty two gp worth of various coinage.

Knowledge, Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Carilain smiles to see Anevia back on her feet. He had known that Kelden would take care of her, if it could be done. He sets about the unpleasant task of rolling the half-orc. Magic items can spell the difference between victory and defeat. If Vagorg had any useful items, it wouldn't do to leave them behind.

"Where is she? Irabeth, I mean."Carilain asks. "Do you need us to take you there?"

He looked relieved to say the least. rising up simply. The half orc...upset him. He certainly didnt recognize the cult, though that didnt surprise him. He had noticed since he left the temple and home that his studies of other religions... had been well lacking.

Destroyed city or not, let us get the filth from your home.

He said waiting till they were done searching the orc and stripping him of useful items before he began to drag him outside. He wasnt going to leave him in this place even if they were abanodoning the city.

Kyra lets out a sigh as the half-orc is finally felled and rolls her shoulders as the power of her battle dance dissipates. Just as she turns around to rush towards Anevia, Kelden's healing powers rush over them all and she stops short as the young woman gets to her knees. She simply places a hand on her shoulder and smiles.

The dervish follows Anevia as she rushes out of the room into the bedroom, with her blade at the ready. She will pick up the note as it falls to the ground, glancing over it briefly before handing it back to Anevia. "Worry not, dear. We will get you to your love safely. Though I do not know the location of this Defender's Heart."

Afterward she will assist Kelden with removing the filth from Anevia's home.

Just to clarify with the items; Pots of CMW (2), Pots of Invisibility (5), Ranseur of the Gargoyle, Wand of Magic Missile (CL3 11 charges), Hide Armor (Masterwork?), Ceremonial Dagger (Mundane?), and 42gp.

Alesie lets out her breath in a sigh of relief as Anevia stirs from Kelden's magic. "Thank the goddess." She whispers to herself.

Take 10 on kn(Loc) = 18. I grew up in this town, I would hope I know some of it's major places.

"The defender's heart? Maybe they've set it up as a safe haven. I want to go home, but, sigh, this is more important. We should get there as soon as possible." Alesie explains, a slight tinge of sadness to her comments.

The hide armor was regular quality. The ceremonial dagger was masterwork.

ANIEVA:

Anieva nods.
"Yes, I will definitely need your help to get to Defenders Rest."
She looked around at all of you critically.
"Do you need to rest here first? It has been... a long time since I have slept in my own bed."

"I've used most of my spells, and all my arcane reserve. I wouldn't mind a rest."
Carilain looks around at each of his friends. "I still have a few tricks left, if the rest of you want to press on."

"It is imperative that we reach the Defender's Heart as quickly as possible. Every time we delay is more lives lost." Thetin looks at his allies. "I can continue on."

I still have some gifts granted to me by Sarenrae as well.."

He answered, hefting the half-orcs ransuer and getting a feel for its heft. Perhaps its reach would be useful, perhaps not. Sir Thetin made a good point, but if the others needed more rest that was understandible as well.

"I'd say we continue. Best to get there as quick as possible. Faster we get to Defender's Heart, the faster we can check on the rest of the city." Alesie states.

plus Alesie really doesn't realize that she has the ability to cast spells atm, so no needs to rest!

"I agree that we should continue on while we still have daylight. I understand your desire to sleep in your own bed, Anevia; however, imagine the joy you will feel when you see Irabeth's face once again. I can help keep us on our feet as well."

ANIEVA:

Anieva nodded sadly.
"I suppose you're right." She said.
She quickly packed up a couple of mementos, then joined everyone outside. She locked the door (wishful thinking no doubt.)
"Well then, no time like the present." She said. "Let's go."

"Yeah, let's get this done." The thought of being caught out in the streets at night doesn't appeal to Carilain.
"What's the best way to get there, Alesie?"

Travels so far.
Emergence from the underground warrens.
Travelling, Howler ambush.
Ruins of Blackwing. They defeat the renegade Knight’s forces and rescue the remaining Librarians. They take the knight prisoner. Aravashniel decides to stay. They cruelly execute the knight.
They rest for the night.
Travelling, they rescue a couple at a clothiers shop from demons. They decide to stay.
They reach Horgus’ manor, still intact. Upper part is looted, vault is intact. Carilain receives Grimstar, the black blade.

They reach the Nyserian Manor, it has been destroyed.

They reach the Tirabade residence, are ambushed by ex-con, note from Anieva’s wife she is holed up at Defenders Heart.
