Round 3 complete
Sunny began to try cutting poor Cody free.
Sunny slashed at the bloated sac containing what looked like Cody McCool. One slice and the sac split, pouring out several tuns worth of green liquid and a human body.
Sunny adroitly dodged out of the way, avoiding getting any of the liquid on her.
.
Bryson’s frenzy of claws and teeth continue to shred the Mother down until she looks extremely ragged indeed.
The Miasma surrounding Bryson continues to crisp the vegetation around him, but the Mother seems to be defying his power.
.
Burian hangs tight, and whips his hair at the Mother of All.
He hits for minor damage.
.
Ghirrak continues to press the attack, giving the creature something to pay attention to as the rescuers work to get the crew members free.
Ghirrak hits home, but again the majority of the damage he dishes out is absorbed by the Mother of All.
.
Marius took to the air again, angling to intercept him and forestall what would be a sharp and very possibly fatal impact.
Marius will ascend to the -70 foot level, position himself to intercept the falling Avner, and ready an action to touch him and cast featherfall (using arcane bond).
.
Cody twitched. His green mottled face turned up to Sunny, and an arm veined with dark green tendrils reached up towards her.
"Sun-nee..." It whispered. "Hhelp meee..."
"Here now. I got ye." Sunny reassures her crew mate.
Sunny braces and pulls to get Cody free enough so that she can at least settle him some where so she can go help the others. But ends up slipping and plopping awkwardly down in the muck.
.
Avner sailed bonelessly down the shaft, snatched at by strangling vines but missed.
When he got close enough, Marius cast Feather Fall and Avner settled gently into his arms.
.
Behind Sunny, the Vine Horror extruded itself back up above the deck and lashed out with thorny vines!

.
The Mother of All staggered under the combined assault, but especially by Brysons’ buzzsaw ripping chunks out of her. But as you watch, the green blood flushed through her veins again, renewing her!
The Babbling young that had assaulted your hearing since you arrived visibly shrink, wither and die. Their wailing cacophony trails off to nothing, and their lifeless husks drop off leaving a rustling silence.
Except for her.
Now renewed, she redoubled her efforts against the crew of the Savage Kraken.

Round 4 completed________
(npc)Marius landed and dropped Avner.
Looking up, he took a chance and launched a Snapdragon Fireworks. The little flaming dragons trailing smoke and sparks flew up and around Bryson and Burian before landing in the Mother and explodes in a cloud of glitter, dealing modest fire damage.
.
Bryson Devil-Cat is relentless in his assault on the Mother of All.
Bryson’s savage fury tears most of the way into the Mother, vines and leaves shredding everywhere.
.
Sunny looks around, being at the bottom of a deep pit.
Sunny sees Cody lying limply on the bottom of the Sargasso, simply breathing in great gasps.
She also sees Annie floating in a bulbus leaf sac, which is rapidly withering as its life forces are drawn into the Mother.
She also sees Lirith burst forth from her leaf sac… now fully transformed into a mindless Vine-Horror!
She also sees Avner in Marius’ arms landing on the floor of the Sargasso with her.
The damage Sunny was hit with was blunt lethal damage.
Sunny is the one that wilts under the newest vegetable's assault. Ahe valiantly turns and puts herself between Cody, Avner and it.
Turning to the first Vine Horror, Sunny lashed out hitting once for modest damage.
Though her injuries are obviously taking their toll and she's less effective than she'd like to be.
"I... dun' feel so good..."
.
Burian shouted; "She's recovering... but she can't take much more of this!"
Burian whips his hair at the monstrous plant beast again, but missed wide.
".. though nor can I...."
He looks at Bryson in full fury, and shakes his head.. fully realizing they'd be dead if not for his corrupted state. ".. I know, too well, the lure of dark power...."
.
Burian was right. As Bryson clawed his way all the way through the Mother, she suddenly stiffened and collapsed into a writhing mass of rotting vegetation. She howled and shrieked and sagged down until it finally lay still.
Down at the bottom, as the vine horrors there grapple Sunny and Marius, they stiffened and then shrieked once before rapidly falling apart into green sludge.
You all feel the Sargasso itself shudder in an unnatural and frightening way.
The viney fronds that make up the walls of the Maw start to unravel.
Seawater starts to flood in and suddenly Sunny, Marius, Cody and Annies body are chest deep in seawater.

Marius Hawk |

Thankfully, Marius had the right spell prepared for this situation. He conjured a floating disk, "Lend a hand, would you, Sunny? We'll float the others out." So saying, he set about loading Avner and Annie onto the disk. They could let it float upwards as the water rose and guide it out.
As long as the roof didn't cave in on top of them, they ought to make it.
With a weight limit of 600 pounds, the disk won't support everyone, but it ought to take the two unconscious people at the least.

'Sunny' |

:( Awe... We in't bein' able ta' be savin' poor Lirith? ;_;
Sunny nods, sagging as she helps haul Mister Avner and Cody onto Mariu's magic floaty thingy. She declines getting aboard herself.
"I is okeys..." She explains tiredly. Simply resting a hand (if she can actually do that with the disc?) on its edge as things begin to float up and out.....

'Sunny' |

Awe... ;_; Uhm Cody, Avner, Annie...? Marius? He be makin' tha' thing.
Sunny simply continues to 'Bob' as the water... rises...?

Ghirrak Ironfist |

"All hands to the top and out!" Ghirrak bellows. ”Get the unconscious loaded on and moving up. Dunny, can you climb or d’you need rope?”
The captain studies Bryson, still caught up in his dark rage. Likely only moving Annie’s body up to the surface would pull him form the need to kill the thing that had angered him.

'Sunny' |

*Points to tanned self as she blinks up at Ghirrak*
"I be swimmin'..." She explains. Then blinks again as the situation actually begins to dawn on her.
"Ah!" She exclaims, then moves to help others who aren't aboard Master Hawk's floaty disc keep afloat as the water rises.
"I be all okeys. Jus' a little tired, is all." She reassures her companions.
Yah! Who needs aid in swimmin'?
If every one is seeming okay then Sunny will do her best to scamper up to where the shine's been loaded and check on the nets, floats and things.

Avner, Annie and potentially Cody (if he needs the support) are on the disk. That's probably about its weight limit. Marius still has a few minutes left on his flight spell, and he's probably got a decent enough swim rank in any case.
Marius kept pace with the disk as it rose, making sure nobody fell off. He did take a moment to dismiss the conjured wall of ice which might otherwise have blocked their exit.

Ghirrak Ironfist |

"Bryson!!! It's dead, we're leaving" Ghirrak shouts down to the transformed druid caught up in feral rage. "We're taking Annie back to the ship!"

Bryson Deepwinter |

At Ghirraks mention of Annie, Bryson snaps back to himself. He Changes back to his regular winged form and launches himself up and out of the pit to intercept anything that would hinder the group's progress.

Quickly she cast Calm Emotions, and everyone in the vicinity is suddenly thinking clearly, their strong emotions suppressed. Bryson is now free of his Rage.

Bryson Deepwinter |

Bryson is shocked back to his senses and is embarrassed and afraid of what he'd almost done. He changes back to his humanoid form and flies ahead of the group intercept any enemies as well as put some distance between himself and his allies.

DM-Camris |

The water quickly filled up to the top of the Maw and washed the party members back down the passageway next to the treasure room. The water slows at this point, allowing you to gain your feet. The now ice free opening in the overhead gives the only light here.
But the water is still rising, and the Thunderer tips slightly with a horrible groan.

It looked to Sunny like Bonden had put together a jury rigged mess, fragile and unreliable, right before it was covered by incoming water.
Then one by one, the party escaped up through the hole in the upper deck by flying or letting the water float them out.
Then up the passageway and out onto the maindeck.
Outside, you can see that the endless expanse of Sargasso surrounding the ship had broken up into many tiny islands of green interspersed in rapidly flowing seawater.
The once towering mounds of seaweed covered ships are in the middle of sinking slowly into the sea.
Then with a great heave and crack, the hull of the Thunderer gave way under your feet and sank. All that is left is a debris field of spars and broken planks.

Avner woke up still injured, but Annie and Cody are still unconscious. And still green too.
The sun had descended below the horizon, and the glimmer of twilight had just faded when you went into the water.
The water here is blood warm, and you can float here indefinitely if you need to.
The party took the time to find planks they can at least put the unconscious people onto; and sometime during that Sunnys eight marker bouys pop to the surface a few dozen yards off.
Bryson is all set to haul the little flotilla back to the ship, but he doesn't know where it is in the darkness.

With the danger sunk she's gathered what she could and put her gear away with the rest of the salvage.
Her time then spent between dozing snuggled in her netting or else checking on those floating on the surface, offering help to any in need.
At some point during the night she turns her head and listens.
"Hey. Ye hear that?" She asks, looking around though her vantage is limited. Eventually she points,
"That's a ship." She peers intently at what she can see of the masts and lanterns.
She begins to tow folks towards the sight.

Ghirrak Ironfist |

Treading water and checking on the unconscious crew members, Ghirrak looks in the direction Sunny indicates, his vision easily peering through the gloom. "Just hang in there everyone, we'll be back on board soon enough!" he says as he works to get everyone moving in the direction of the ship.

Marius had been considering sending up a fireball to attract attention, but held off at the sight of Bryson darting away. He could always change his mind if need be. For now, he kept an eye on the wounded. It wouldn't do to have them dislodged at this late point.

DM-Camris |

With intermittent sprinting, Bryson manages to cover the intervening miles to the Savage Kraken in just over an hour. Fatigued, he managed to climb up to the cheers of the passengers and crew.
With Brysons general directions, and some light made by the floaters, the Kraken finally made rendezvous and picked them and Sunny's float bags up.
The crew and passengers cheered wildly and plied the heroes with rum and warm food. Cody and Annie were put down below in the sick bay to recover; still green to the gills.

'Sunny' |

Sunny is happy to be back amongst freinds.
Over the meal she enthusiastically and energetically retells the tale from her perspective and limited language skills.
Only later, after she's gone down to check on Annie and Cody, does she spend some time leaning against the stern railing, looking back over the receiding ocean waves, does her cheer fade and she says something quielty in her native Elvish to nothing but the early morning's air.
Over the next few days as she regains her strength and her wounds are soothed she's back to her bright and bouncy self.
Happy and eager to investigate all the 'Stuff's they've garnered from the adventure they've just had. She does spend time with the convalessing Cody and Annie.
(Am guessing Master Deepwinter spends more time with Annie (^_~) ).

Ghirrak Ironfist |

Once back on board, Ghirrak ensures that Cody and Annie are taken below, and pours out a drink into the ocean for Lirith, saying a few words on the tomboyish crewwoman's behalf.

With Professor Forol's help you are able to determine that both Annie and Cody are still under the influence of an exotic fey plant magic of some kind. Only Professor Forol's concoctions and Bryson's presence prevent it from overwhelming their bodies.
