Round 8_____________
Bryson Deepwinter______
Bryson ignores the pirate that came up behind him as he steps past Lady Vanderboren to get to the pirate captain. "Now ya die" he says. A harsh, bitter smoke rising from his mouth and eyes and trailing from each swipe of his clawed hand.
His bite hit, but his claws missed.
Ghirrak Ironfist______
With blinding speed, Captain Ghirrak pummels the nearest sailor.
With a blurring move and the sound of a number of bones breaking, suddenly three pirates are lying in a broken crumpled heap, only one next to him having blocked an arm bar almost by accident.
.Suny.______
Grabbing a rope from those hanging about the main topsail she simply leaps away from the mast, initially looking like she's again leaping away from combat.
However, her intent and arc of flight swings her tanned, brown self waaaaay out wide with her aim comeing in at the pirate threatening Zan (Pirate 6 And hopefully with Flanking plus surprise)
[ooc]Suny’s swing caught the pirate by surprise as she booted him off the mast. He gives a classic Wilhem scream as he plunged by luck between the two ships and into the water below, where by unluck there are a bunch of excited sharks.
Marius Hawk______
Staying put and casting haste on himself, Burian, Ghirak and two crew members; snapdragon firework at the closest pirate for 1d4 ⇒ 2 damage plus the usual.

Burian steps off the the boarding plank, and moves to put his back to the fallen mast. He wills his hair to cut through two pirates in a wide sweeping arc.
move to F,7 (provoke AoO from 22 for movement) Burian is hit by a cutlass for 6 points.
The last pirate in your area is grabbed by your hair and shredded.
The area around you is temporarily clear.
Zan waived cheerily at Suny, motioned for her to take the last pirate, then slid down a sail with his knife to land catlike on the deck behind a cluster of pirates.
ENEMIES___________________________
You see that with your efforts, the tide has turned and the pirates are surrounded on deck between your crews.
Off the port bow, you see the pinnace crowded with pirates. The boat has a smoking hole where the rudderman and rudder used to be. Half the pirates in it are rowing the waterlogged craft with difficulty, while the other half are bailing like mad. They are a round away from making contact with the Nixie and swarming aboard, possibly tipping the balance against you.
Two pirates grapple Lavinia, she shouted with outrage.
Longshanks LeShiv stared at the place Bryson raked him, then grinned at him with rotting teeth.
”A beast that talks! You’ll make a fine showpiece when we sell ye in Scuttlecove laddie! But first we must subdue ye…” He said.
Bryson isn’t sure what happened, just a flick of his eyes perhaps, but…

Marius stood glaring at the stricken boat, waiting to see if anybody with any fight left in them emerged from the flames.

To the untrained eye, what shot out from his fingertips was just another of those bedeviling fireworks. This time, however, the spark of light detonated in a roiling ball of flame, engulfing the pinnace and most of the unfortunates who sailed aboard her.
The fireball blew the already lightning damaged pinnace into a million tiny burning slivers. The few surviving pirates hit the shark infested waters to put the fire out.
Zan lashed out with his knives, gutting two of the pirates.
ENEMIES______________________
At the fireball explosion, all the pirates being hemmed in on the maindeck of the Nixie start surrendering and pleading for their lives.
Longshanks LeShiv screams obscenities as he glared at his disintegrating pinnace, his surrendering crew and the sudden wooden wall separating him from his objective.
”Well lassie, looks like ye’ve slipped through me fingers this time. But make no mistake, we’ll be meetin’ again real soon!” He declared finally.
Walking to the rail, he stepped off and plunged into the shark infested water, disappearing from view.

"Woah! Is all a'splodie!" She exclaims, awe and amazement clear to all amongst the rigging. As the cries and pleas for parlay rise from the remaining pirates below on deck Sunny offers a hand for shaking from Red pirate 2 (Assuming they do follow suit) before moving to round up all her allies and sees to them getting safely down to the decks below, with assurances they'll keep said Red 2 watched as well as safe.
Sunny descends to the decks and begins to skip about laughing, hugging and joining in the exuberance of the 'win' amongst her allies and friends. (^_^)

Marius Hawk |

"Well, I'm not going in there," Marius remarked, feeling it was probably a good idea to stem the charge towards the tooth-filled waters.
The pirates seemed pretty thoroughly cowed for the moment, which left the thorny question of what they were going to do with them. Following their conquest of a ship, he understood pirates would often give captives with useful skills the chance to join their crew. Did that work in reverse? Should it? Something to discuss with people more knowledgeable in the ways of the sea, perhaps.
Also, what was the line of succession should the captain be eaten by sharks? Marius shrugged this latter nautical question off as unlikely to happen.
For now, he observed from the railing, ready to deliver a bit of ranged support if the opportunity arose.

.Suny. |

Suny looks to her longer time traveling companion Marius.
"But? They jus' jump-ed in'a water!" She exclaims again.
"Why? Why is they jumpin' in'a water? Is all full'a finys!" The tanned Elf expresses her obvious confusion at people's actions.

Sunny frowns, "A 'Faiy'! on 'Con-fee-dancin''!" She exclaims, "We's got'a be helpin'!" So saying the tanned Elf darts away from the railing and scampers about searching for stuff amongst the ruins on the decks.
First gathering ropes, thence some timbers, getting some friends to help pulls sail cloth and finally some large and heavy items (Balista shot and/or any free chain) dragging them back to the railings where Ghirrak and Bryson disappeared over the side.
As she begins to fashion her item she mutters,
"When is just one finny, an' ye know t'is about an' comin', ye can just y'know bop 'em on'a nose an' they gets tha' message..." She ties and works things together. "But when they's in'a mob like? There in't much ye can do but float still an' hope they dun't run in't ye..."

Basing the idea on the knowledge that sharks 'generally' avoid running into things. Though if they're truly in a classic frenzy, yeah, maybe not so much.
The other possible benefit is that some of the sharks might impact the canvas and become frightened/driven off.
DM's thoughts about the above idea welcome. (^_^)
And after that Sunny has other ideas. XD

One dorsal and one ventral. He has bony spikes on all sides of his form making him look even more menacing (just for show, I'm not expecting any mechanical effect from these). All of Bryson-Shark's fins look more like bat wings with jagged claws at the tips.

DM-Camris |

Approaching the ships, you swimmers have to dodge a weird contraption, definitely a slapdash jury-rigged thing. It is a floating 'square' of timber from which 'hang' sheets of canvas (Weight added by shot or chain).
To assay the damage to the ships, make a Knowledge:Engineering or Profession:Shipwright or Profession:Sailor roll.

Oh sorry. Bryson has none of that. Does he see any holes or is the mast busted or anything obvious like that? If so, he'll use Woodshape to help otherwise he'll just sulk.

The obvious damage is both the pirate ship and the Nixie have one mast shattered, with all rigging down.
Crewmen are stuffing their pockets and arguing over who gets what; two have already come to blows.

The obvious damage is both the pirate ship and the Nixie have the mizzenmast shattered, with all associated rigging down.

A bandaged sailor reports that the Nixie has minor hull damage (Woodshape can fix that with a few minutes work.) And that both the Nixie and the Pirate ship have their mizzenmast down with all associated rigging. Plus someone cut even more rigging down to make a floating shark net.
Without that third mast, a ship drops to 2/3 speed.More than that, you see Lavinia kneeling over ten still figures covered by sailcloth on the maindeck, crying silent tears.
