I normally wouldn't allow 3rd party material, certainly not without looking it over myself. But, since I agree that the mundane crafting rules as written don't really make much sense, I would consider it. I'd still need to see the material for myself, or at least the relevant parts.
How many days would we be talking about?
Maddok
With these rules Maddok could craft Appario's Bastard Sword in 4 days while taking 10 using the modifiers I mentioned in that earlier post.
He could make Vaynwynne's silver stake in 4 hours.
I can post the relevant rules here if you'd like or if you give me your email address I can send it to you.

I should note that that's four 8-hour work days. It'll likely end up being closer to double that considering the long hours we work some days.
He could make Vaynwynne's silver stake in 4 hours.
And that seems reasonable considering it's a single piece of metal.
DM Are
There were twelve horses, of the ordinary riding kind. I'd assume the two bandits left with at least one each, and I had intended to have Vahnwynne release the rest of the horses and set them free to roam the land (I forgot to do that last part, though).
In any case, it would have been difficult to get the horses back through the swamp with you. To bring the horses, you would have to go the long way around through the hills. That would take you several additional hours, so it would be past midnight by the time you'd return to Westcrown.
Maddok
Heh, people making jokes about Derek both IC and OOC? Great, means I'm doing a good job of being comedic relif. Besides, Bards love attention.
I guess that's a sign that you're doing your job well.
Hopefully when Are gets up tomorrow (or is it today?) it can be assumed we've met up at the safehouse again. We have a city to liberate!
Are, did you get a chance to look over that PDF? Do you foresee those rules being okay for Maddok (and presumably Granor) to use in the future?
In my 'morning after' post I took some liberties and made some assumptions. Let me know if any part of it is a problem. Using the 3rd party crafting rules Maddok is 4 hours into the 8 hour crafting of the masterwork silver stake he's making for Vaynwynne. This was assuming he got up around 4am and started working. I'd like to think after the night he gave her she could sleep through a few hours of his pounding on the forge.

Let me assure you this campaign would not have been anywhere near as good without our dear friend Derek Keegan :)
I have had a chance to glance over it. The rules look fine, but I might modify some of the time units for the more complex items.
I won't let you use the epic rules alongside them though :)
Appario Lind
Stuffs to be sold, identified, claimed:4 composite longbows [+2 strength]
5 scale mails (one of these is severely damaged)
5 greatswords
5 chain mails10 potions
3 potions3 leather bags, (containing a total of 600 gp)
Anyone want the swords, armor, or weapons before Appario goes to market?
Last call!

Sounds good. The epic rules were a bandaid fix anyways.

Once we get the potions identified Maddok would like to hold on to a healing potion if there is one.
DM Are
Derek and Yahirma both have the ability to identify magic items (through using Spellcraft while casting detect magic). Assuming they choose to try identifying the potions, the results are as follows:
Potion #1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Potion #2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Potion #3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Potion #4: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Potion #5: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Potion #6: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Potion #7: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Potion #8: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Potion #9: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Potion #10: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Potion #11: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Potion #12: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Potion #13: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Potion #2 (attempt 2): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Potion #4 (attempt 2): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Potion #6 (attempt 2): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Potion #7 (attempt 2): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
7 of the potions are potions of cure light wounds
2 of the potions are potions of cure moderate wounds
1 potion is a potion of comprehend languages
3 potions are still unidentified after both Derek and Yahirma have tried to identify them.
Maddok
As the potions are described Maddok will pick up some of the identified vials, unstopper them, take a whiff, and then compare them to ones the casters did not recognize.
Perception checks to identify:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Caster level 2 or less?
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 Caster level 9 or less?
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 Caster level -1 or less? =(
Appario Lind
Per DM Are's approval/confirmation:
4 composite longbows [+2 strength] = 4 * 150 = 600
5 scale mails (one of these is severely damaged) 3*25 + 1*12 = 87
5 greatswords = 5 * 25 = 125
5 chain mails = 5 * 75 = 225
600 + 87 + 125 + 225 + 600 = 1637
1637/6 = 273 potential share or please suggest another split
9 of the potions are potions of cure light wounds
2 of the potions are potions of cure moderate wounds
1 potion is a potion of comprehend languages
1 unidentified potion
Previous treasure:
1 jeweled shortsword (est. 250gp)
Appario claims no potions, he's still full from last time.
Maddok
Sounds good to me. If there's an abundance of potions Maddok will gladly take two or three.
What happened with the gold Jalki gave Derek? How much was it? Did we end up giving it back to the masses?
Yahirma
Well, if Vahnwynne was intent on releasing the equines, I cannot say that Yahirma would be outspoken in keeping them. Even so, she would be open to navigating some of those drier paths to have recovered at least a few of them. Not having to borrow horses every time we travel seems like it would be an advantage.
Survival (augmented by Guidance and my shiny new area map) to determine if there are reasonable paths by which I might take the horses: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
DM Are
Maddok: The bag Jalki gave to Derek contained 100 platinum pieces. I imagine the bag is still in Derek's pocket. Unless he left it behind at the table :)
Yahirma: She would only release them if noone wanted to take them along (leaving animals tethered with noone to take care of them would have been cruel). The only reasonable path for the horses is the long way through the hills, unfortunately. While there are drier patches for up to a few hundred feet at a time in the swamp, there are no continuous dry paths. That's the reason the bandits left their horses at the camp when they went to the ambush site.

What?!? We have more monies?!?!
Derek, if I get back and find that you blew all that gold on Calistria's Girls and cheap booze, we're going to have a talk with my sword. ;)
(If it expensive booze and you brought back Calistria's ladies for additional ministrations, I'll forgive you.)

I apologize for performing the identification rolls in this thread; I should have waited until a character actually did try to identify, as Yahirma did. I won't do that again.
By the way, I feel things are moving fairly slowly at the moment, certainly compared to how it was just a week ago. I assume that's either because people are swamped with work, or going on vacation, or simply because noone actually has a plan for how to proceed with the Lady Drovenge situation.
Either way, if anyone thinks there's anything I should do to move things along faster, I'm open to suggestions. And if you think I'm too impatient, let me know that too :)
Yahirma
I can see some advantage to running the bait and switch disguise plan to draw out more of the Council, but they seem to have have far better connections and resources - even with Master Keegan on our side. My thought is that returning her to her family would be best.
At this point, Yahirma is a bit on the reactive side regarding intrigue. She works well with other on plans, but her mind is still on the supernatural terrors. As she works with the Gardeners more, gets a feel for Westcrown, and resolves a few of the shadowbeast issues, my suspicion is that she will become more proactive on devising some of these plans.
Appario Lind
Sadly, I think this all got started with this post from Granor who hasn't posted since Thursday.
Without the good dwarf, answer for this, I'll just return the Lady. I think we've waited long enough, eh?
Maddok
1073gp (273 + 800)
Amaya's excitement fades slightly as she turns to answer Yahirma's question. "Hannah did say that no cast had ever survived a production of the uncut version, but I'm sure she was just trying to scare me. Right?" She looks hopefully at Derek.
Derek knows that Hannah's words are true. The uncut version has been banned for over a century due in part to its lethality.
This is a play right? Did I miss something?

I am so sorry!!!
My landlord suddenly decided that i had to leave, so i had to move in back with my parents for the time being, and as a foolish moove, i decided to transfer my own ADSL account to the new number. And it was a horrorfest that lasten untill several minutes ago.
Granor will return very soon, as soon as i can get my affairs in order. I will start posting today, or early tomorrow.

"Dearest Maddok. I should have listened to you. The vampires set a trap for me, and I can't hold them off much longer. I fear I shall soon become that which I hate the most. When you find me, defeat me with the silver stake you made, then destroy me by plunging one of my wooden stakes into my heart when I'm helpless. Enchant the silver stake with magic to make it even more potent. I love you. Your Vahnwynne."
=(
Appario Lind
Ouch! Damn me, but if that's not a powerful emotional trigger then I don't know what is.
These vampires have made powerful enemies now.
I'm not buying it.
What? Like you've never faked your own death to get out of a relationship...
...seems like that would be much easier in the world of Golarion than in real life, amiright?
Maddok
I haven't disappeared. I'm trying to figure out a way for Maddok to deal with this development that allows him to stay involved with the rest of the party.
AdAstraGames
I have soul crushing deadlines that are due on the 20th. I'll be very very sporadic in posting until then; if you need Semenya to make a decision on something, assume she backs up Appario's call or Yahirma's if I'm unavailable.
Strategically, Semenya will go out of her way to try and get some prisoners to interrogate under Hypnosis.
Derek Keegan
Things are getting complicated.
We want to save Maddosk love, but to do that we need a way to defeat Vampires, and they seem to be connected somehow to the Shadowbeasts.
And to find out about them we need to get into the mayors mansion.
And since we cannot rely on the mayor to give us access we need to act in the play.
But that would take longer than she has most likely.
Yahirma
Given her typical response to difficulties (to understate Maddok's news) is to tell a fable, nod sagely, and then gather information, Yahirma is not the best for comforting the smith. She can, however, help him to stay strong when the time for action comes.
With a confrontation with one or more vampires likely, I am interested in creating some sort of charm - perhaps even a juju charm like the Black Blessing given to Appario - that would help protect against vampires. Specifically, I feel one or more of the following would make for a classy, reasonable, and memorable magical item:
1) A bonus to saving throws against a vampire's domination gaze
2) The ability to break it to negate one of the vampire's abilities, such as its gaseous form or Children of the Night ability
3) The ability to sense vampires nearby, perhaps even granting the ability to track a vampire in gaseous form
4) The ability to absorb several negative levels (vampire only), much like a scarab of invulnerability
5) The ability to shock a vampire with memories of its former life, dazing it for a round
There may also be some limitations we could build into it:
a) When the charm is crafted, it can be consecrated for use against a particular individual. Against that one vampire, the bonuses are doubled. Against all other vampires, the bonuses are halved.
b) The charm is consecrated for use against a particular vampire, and it breaks after the target is finally put to rest.
c) When the charm is created, the wearer commits to slaying/redeeming a certain number of vampires. Until the named vampire or group of vampires is defeated, the wielder suffers a penalty to certain skills (perception, craft, sense motive?) and/or saves (will?) not related to defeating said vampires.
I'm delving into custom item crafting here, but I think it could make for some great story-telling. Before I make too much fuss about details, is this something that might interest Maddok?
Maddok
That sounds cool but it would have to be really really expensive for how powerful it is. I'd rather just not mess with custom items. I would prefer we succeed by the merits of our own abilities.
Appario Lind
Granor nods to Derek.
"Well, we could return the lady to her grandfather, and maybe even collect the prize. Unless we could somehow inform the man that she is all right and then "arrange for her safe return for a ransom", and then spread rumors about the place of the exchange and time when it will occur, and then set a trap for people coming to take the lady?"
This confuzzles me. I thought he had already returned the lady and we moving beyond that plot point. Are we going back?
Granor, did you miss that we had already done this and been paid?
