I think it was festrogs the other time too! Anyway, my prone AC should be 15 (19 minus 4). The second attack should have missed according to that.
Dang it. When I post, I preview the post after each dice roll to see the result and then right in the text according to that result. In this case, I completely forgot to do the trip parts for both of them, and I came back in edited it in, but completely forgot I needed to add them in to avoid altering the rolls. The 19 total should have been for the second bite, not the trip. My mistake, so I'll give it to you and say the second Festrog's Bite did not hit. That also means that it didn't heal any and you have 6 more HP.

Making your way from the mining camp goes uneventful the remainder of the day. You find a safe looking area to set up camp and rest, and the next day is no less hot. After setting out, you begin to get the feeling you are being watched. At first it's just a feeling, but it becomes clear that there is something out there. Things are just too quite, but every once in a while, you hear the snapping of a twig, or swear you hear some sort of low growl off in the distance.
At one point Caith even points out a pair of glowing yellow eyes behind some tall grass, but after shooting a few arrows into the area, you find nothing. Nothing save large reptilian claw marks in the mud. A dragon?
As you come over a hill, you look down to see a forested area leading to an old bridge. In the back, Garret grabs his relic bead chain and calls on it's power, granting the group a small boon in the fight.
I was going to say that Darius could alter his action, but I see that a lot of people had to delay for all that to work, so nevermind.

This assumes the squares with "trees" are no more than difficult terrain. If they are impassable, I would need to revise my movement. If the 17 by some chance hits, I get to apply a debuff condition of my choice. Since both count as being grappled, I assume there's a chance, but I'll wait for your ruling on both items before trying to decide how to proceed.

![]() |

Go ahead, though you are going to need to make an Acrobatics check to avoid an AoO for that much movement, unless Roderick, Kylar, or Nicolae change that. All things considered, it's a DC 20 Acrobatics check, or if you want to do it at full speed, a DC 30 check. The trees are just difficult terrain, but are passable. I'll wait until the others that act before you actually act to see if it hits or not. Things can always change, but yes, it is considered grappling, so it has a -4 to Dex, which affects it's AC.

![]() |

Grappled creatures can't take AOO's, and once grappling the grappler herself usually also gains the condition. Not sure if that's true for creatures with grab, but since I can make it at half speed, here's a roll!

Sliding over to catch the creature from behind, Nicolae brings his greatsword down hard, leaving a large gash, enough to distract it while Kylar launches a stream of noxious acid, burning away a rather large chunk of it's left haunch, and leaving it looking rather worn for wear. Darius catches a lucky blow from the opposite side of Nicolae, tag-teaming the beast. Caith tries to hit the wyvern up close and personal, but just can't seem to find his footing to land a solid blow. Finally, standing back, the priest calls on divine aid, creating a floating ghostly weapon that strikes at the Wyvern, hurling itself at it to pierce it's thick hide and then returning to hover near him for it's next strike.

Let's slap that sucker with Bewildered.
Bewildered: The target becomes bewildered, taking a –2 penalty to AC. The target takes an additional –2 penalty to AC against all attacks made by the rogue.
These penalties do not stack with themselves, but additional attacks that deal sneak attack damage extend the duration by 1 round. A creature cannot suffer from more than one penalty from this ability at a time. If a new penalty is applied, the old penalty immediately ends. Any form of healing applied to a target suffering from one of these penalties also removes the penalty.

Let me know how healing goes, too. :) You are going to need it.
You decide to spend a little time to rest, eat, and heal up before you return to your travels. It's not much longer after return to the road you spot markers to your destination. This ancient valley nestled in the Bandu Hills is well hidden, being almost impossible to spot from more than a mile away. Ancient megalithic stones—most of which are toppled and partly buried—ring the border of this deep valley. These stones, long since weathered by time and encrusted with vegetation, serve as the only indication that humanoids may have at one time settled this region. The thick forest canopy of the valley below hides any sign of civilization, ancient or otherwise, from outside observers.
Once you have descended into the valley they find themselves beneath a dense canopy of tall jungle trees. Due to the limited sunlight that comes through the canopy, the jungle floor is largely devoid of undergrowth, save for extremely small and sparse vegetation. The majority of the jungle floor is made of massive root structures from the ancient trees and moss-covered rocks. You easily follow the trail of the kobolds and miners, who did not work to conceal their tracks once they got this far. The tracks lead through the jungle to a flowered clearing 2 miles from the ridge.
The dense forestation of the valley jungle thins here, opening up enough to reveal the sky through the canopy. Beneath this opening, an ancient ruin consumed by the jungle is barely visible. Vines and leafy foliage encrust toppled blocks of quarried stone, tall grass grows up between derelict paving stones, and squat statues depicting dwarves in heavy armor stand crooked or fractured entirely from the infiltration of twisting roots. Among the more notable features here are the exotic flowers—tall, pitcher-shaped, golden blooms with seven petals, the interior of each a deep red. The soothing fragrance of the flowers fills the valley, and motes of pollen drift lazily in the air.
