Is the the rift we're trying to work on pictured in the top right of the map? That might help me visualize what we are trying to do. If it's to stabilize the rift by offsetting the various elements, I can work on fire. It didn't sound like that was it from DM Beckett's first post, but I think I'm missing something.

That's actually the only picture of Wysps I could find. It's lost somewhere in one of the earlier tests, but essentially when you where sucked in here, at the "top" was a small circular area with black lightning that was the portal back to the Tower of Contemplation. One of the small tricks of this pocket plane was that it had an finite area, and if you would have gone all the way to the edge of the map, you would have literally appeared on the other side. No one did, so it didn't really come up.

This is also true for flying up or falling down in the three dimensional sense, with the exception of that small portal at the top. The idea here is that the portal itself has been corrupted or hijacked somehow, allowing those within the Maelstrom (a Chaotic aligned separate Plane) to also somehow have access to this small pocket dimension. Essentially there is a backdoor. By whatever means you want to try, it's possible to close that backdoor, assuring that other Proteans will not someday find their way here. Does that make sense?

Fully sealing the rift to the maelstrom at first seems to have no effect, although on your return trip, you find that the chaotic winds and other strange phenomena in the area have completely stopped, making the trip back to Armun Kelisk pleasantly uneventful.

First returning to the Tower of Contemplation, you likewise find that it has changed for the better, then using the device to summon your Airship captain, she remarks how she had been caught in some sort of whirlwind, but that it had suddenly stopped, saving both her ship and crew before any true damage had occurred.

Making your way beck to speak with Ashasar, he asks you for a detailed report on your findings, thanking you for your services, and offers a handsome sum for your troubles, (also offering to himself pay for any long lasting issues you may have accrued on your journey).

He makes mention of sending another team to look into the lore in regards to the missing Ranginori, surprisingly hopeful of what this might lead to in the future.
