Well, let's wait the daemon's round to see what will happen...
DM Beckett |
As more and more of the villagers begin to scramble up the dam, the daemon on the lower ground suddenly reaches skyward and grasps a globe of dark electrical-looking energy, hurling it at the base of the stairway across from you. It lands in the center of many of the villagers, and explodes, sending black and dark purple bolts out like many grasping clawed hands, and as it hits eight of them, it's almost as if they slammed into some sort of invisible wall, and their movements suddenly become very slowed, similar to as if they where under water.
The daemon cackles with cruel joy, and begins to come closer while working to open the cap of it's container.

"I totally do not like the looks of that container it is carrying ."
Victoria studies the pair, trying to determine if haste is more prudent or taking out the container held by the daemon.
Victoria Hennessee |
Victoria casts haste on the party, then flies up 5' above the dam, to see if she can get a straight line shot to the demonic beasts if they try to land on the dam.
Act quickly dears! The extra speed will not last long!
Andruss Delsine |
The map is updated? The daemon 2 didn't move forward?
Andruss Delsine |
"If anyone is good with a crossbow I have silver bolts."
"I'm not an expert, but as nobody manifests interest, give them to me", Andruss answered Sen.
@Sen: how many silver bolts do you have?
So, the whitch fires a silver bolt against the wounded daemon.

I am also proficient in the use of a crossbow but I do have magical bolts. she says as she uses a scroll of bull's strength on Eric.
The subject becomes stronger. The spell grants a +4 enhancement bonus to Strength, adding the usual benefits to melee attack rolls, melee damage rolls, and other uses of the Strength modifier.
DM Beckett |
Rivanni calls on protective essence while Victoria speeds everyone up, really augmenting the temporal powers within the area and causing those affected by the Slow spell to nearly appear like they are not moving at all.
Seinaru hands over his quiver to the eager, and apparently very lucky Andruss who levels a single shot that digs deep right through the Daemon's thick hide and stings hard. Small bits of smoke follow a slight sizzling sound as the silver bolt causes the creature a great deal of pain.
It looks back at the other, giving it a look as if to indicate that someone is fighting back. Eric attempts to leap into the shadows and hide near the damn, hoping he might be able to set himself up for a future attack.

The other Daemon, up on high ground rushes towards the dam, but stops just before the stairs, and paces for just a moment, allowing it's hatred and menace to seep out and unnerve the villagers atop it.

I think I used my scroll of bull's strength on Eric for her 2nd turn. Is this the same or a new round?
That looks like your round 1 action.
DM Beckett |
Do I save now or when it comes back to me?
I'll need to look at this to double check, but I believe that you make the save immediately, and then, if you fail, you can make a new save at the end of what would have been your turn each round. Ok, no. Well, basically yes. You make the save immediately, and if you make it, the spell is negated. If you fail, you can take a Full Round Action on your turn to break the spell. Once you make a Save, it's over.
Andruss Delsine |
@DM Beckett, with Andruss Kn. Planes 25, does he know if they are Ceustodaemon or Lesser Ceustodaemon?
DM Beckett |
I think I used my scroll of bull's strength on Eric for her 2nd turn. Is this the same or a new round?
I thought Round 1 was my manifesting mage armor
Ok, your Round 1 was Mage Armor, and your current (Round 2) action is Bull's Strength.
Jorah unleashes another burst of divine light directly on the daemon who seems to take the full effect of the altogether minor blast. Within your heads you hear it scream mentally in fury and pain, but it also retaliates by unleashing a bit of it's own innate magic right back at Jorah, but he is able to push it's influence aside.
Rivanni approaches Eric, laying a hand on his shoulder and reading the words from a scroll to call upon the powers locked within it, bolstering Eric's strength, just before Eric flees up to the top of the dam. Victoria, in the air focuses her mind, causing a small ball of beautiful light to form, then explode harmlessly, sending small glitter-like sand all over to rain down like falling confetti.
Will: 1d20 ⇒ 2 <FAIL>
Thinking it is so beyond what magic you could bring to bear, it doesn't even resist, and takes the full brunt of the effect, before stumbling about blindly. Seinaru advances, calling on divine protection for the future while Andruss goes again on the offensive, but, even with his target unable to defend itself, it seems his luck has run out, and the bolt veers of course.
The (#1) Daemon, no longer as concerned with spreading terror and slowly tormenting the mortals it had intended on robbing of more body parts, crashes through whatever invisible barrier or line in the sand it had halted at before, half flying and half stumbling up the stars to the top of the dam.

Only barely. You had already included Haste and Bless?
Yes... I don't know if it is the same creature, but the ceustadaemon from the PFSRD have a flat-footed AC of 19, and with the -2 AC from the blinded condition, it will be 17, the exact number that I got.
DM Beckett |
Oh, interesting. These are different. I'm going straight from the book, so I never compared. I guess that means if you guys/gals pull this off, it's even more awesome.
