Mugambi's weapon clanks against the statue... seeming to have no effect.
When he attempts Syndlara's suggestion, the statue steams again and the hairline cracks grow. The defining lines start to turn crimson in areas of detail other than the face.

Good idea. The tribesman nods. he picks up all their valuebles and move them toa safe distance where he awaits for the group. But me short on those, only 1 left. Will save for last.

Mugambi goes back to the statue and casts cure moderate wounds on it.

Blood begins to seep from the cracks and fissures... The sound which comes with the affected steaming area grows into a wailing shriek - ghostly and reverberating.

Those near the entrance start to hear the familiar shuffle and clatter of skeletons approaching... as if answering the statue's cries of pain.

While certainly not finding the idea of preparation to be wrong, Garborn is much to emotionally exhausted to think himself capable of one ore fight, which is why he wishes with all his fevered brain that he is right about this.

Forgot Syndlara could cast cure spells...

Syndlara follows Mugambi's lead and incants the words to a lesser healing spell, clapping her hands together and then pressing them on the statue-altar.

Cure light wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6


The first comes into sight... turning north up the tunnel perpendicular to the chamber entrance. A stooped skeleton in tattered robes... it drags along a barbed and bone-beaded scourge along the stone floor. Another follows close behind. They both move so hunched, you can see how shredded their robes are across their backs.

Gatherine had been wafting about like a drunken cloud with her gaseous form,figuring she may as well have her fun before it expired. She realized with some dismay that she had more or less wasted the potion when the others discovered that by sacrificing a bit of their own blood to the ugly bat statue resulted in the same thing.

When she heard Iolana's warning,she floated on over to where they were casting spells upon the statue and damaging it with positive energies. When she saw the shambling undead making their way painstakingly towards them,she got into position and concentrated on becoming solid again to end the potion's effects.

Aww...

The plump dwarf maid went from a transparent formless mist and back into her blood and sweat stained self with an audible popping noise. Her boots tapped onto the stone floor as gravity manifested and dropped her back into material form.

Whooo! That was new. Gatherine shook herself,feeling herself over to make sure she was all there.

Then she unholstered Sneezy Dragon and loaded an alchemical cartridge with a fierce grin.Time to make some two-legged torches!

The steaming ghostly wail grows to a screech with a tea kettle pitch as Mugambi continues to assault it with divine energy. Wispy emanations burst from the pain-sculpted faces within the iron whirlwind of the altar, fly upwards in all directions - seeming to worm through the cracks in the stone to freedom.

Syndlara repeats her incantation, pouring more positive energy into the statue as well.

Iolana is side by side with Truk, in defense.


The robed skeletons reach you your line of defense.... The one partially shattered by Truk'tosh's shuriken attacks him. The other swings wide - cracking against the stone wall beside Iolana.
Two more behind are ready to move forward should those in front happen to be destroyed before all living are eliminated.

The surface of the bat-winged statue begins to flake off, the seeping blood increases to a steady trickle. It does not look like it can support its form for very much longer.


The stone wings of the statue crumble completely. Thin sheets of wings - made of nothing but blood hang in the air. The long taloned fore claws slowly work toward a fist... as if fighting off paralysis.

The wispy emanations bursting from the altar appear to be bound spirits being freed.

Her power (the cache of spirits) is leaving her... she cannot maintain this much longer.

The gout of flame from Gatherine's pistol peters out with no real blast.

Dragon's Breath Cartridge:
This cartridge contains alchemical compounds that, when fired, produce a cone of fire instead of the normal attack of a one-handed or two-handed firearm with the scatter weapon quality. The nonmagical flame deals 2d6 points of fire damage to all targets within the cone of the scatter firearm (DC 15 Reflex save for half). These cartridges cannot be used in firearms that don’t have the scatter weapon quality. Because this ammunition forces a saving throw instead of making an attack roll, the misfire rules are slightly different. If you roll a 1 with either of the damage dice, the firearm misfires.

Misfire. Sneezy Dragon is "broken" you need to clear that barrel before you fire again... if not, the next misfire will destroy Sneezy Dragon.

Quick Clear:
Quick Clear (Ex): At 1st level, as a standard action, the gunslinger can remove the broken condition from a single firearm she is currently wielding, as long as that condition was gained by a firearm misfire. The gunslinger must have at least 1 grit point to perform this deed. Alternatively, if the gunslinger spends 1 grit point to perform this deed, she can perform quick clear as a move-equivalent action instead of a standard action.

I dont like where this is going. Mugambi curses silently as he casts another heal at the statue.

Mugambi's hand easily breaks through the crumbling stone of the statue - just delivering the physical contact required...
As the divine power passes through Mugambi's hand, a shoulder's worth of stone and blood turn to heavy chunks and drop to the ground.
She is starting to lose her form, the stone no longer affords her any protection.

Iolana chips away at the skeleton in front of her... it seems to wince from the strike. Skeletons don't usually wince.
A dry harsh voice comes from the empty skull. The only word most of you can make out is "Zura".

Syndlara casts another cure spell at the altar/statue before retreating thirty feet away in a series of backflips.

Cast cure light wounds, then move to F7.

The stone and blood form of Zura collapses in a gory splash.
Syndlara tumbles away before she is covered... Mugambi is drenched from the waist down.

The skeletons lose their human-like mannerisms. They remain standing - staggered for a moment in their now-weakened state.

Truk rushes forward and smashes his staff into one of the weakened skeleton.

Those remaining drop their scourges and advance with clumsy clawing strikes.

Cursing in frustration,Gatherine cleared Sneezy Dragon with a few deft twists of her wrist.The ruined clump of alchemical reagents fell to the floor in a smoldering clump.

Spend 1 grit out of 3 to quick-clear.

Then she reloaded with another paper cartridge,shoving it into place and snapping the dragon pistol shut with a sharp clatter. She noticed the shambling skeletons that seemed less energetic and even dropped their weapons.
