Dark, sinister words spill from Anklebiter's lips as he weaves his green hands in the gestures of a spell -- and a writhing cord of darkness materializes between his clawed fingers.

"We need a live one anyway," he says, shrugging at Bruendor as he sends the whip-cord cracking at one of the Drow.

A flashing pattern of colored light stops one of the drow warriors in his tracks, but the other one charges on, ducking under Lefrik's javelin and Anklebiter's magical lash. The drow's rapier bit deeply into Lefrik's side, drawing forth a bright red stream of blood.

The wizard grunted as a brilliant red flash of light struck him in the side, Calla's bolt, but easily dodged Bruendor's weak attack. A scimitar of flame appeared in his hand and he cut at Bruendor's head, striking soundly. The hiss of burning flesh and the smell of scorched hair and leather filled the small room. Distracted by the blazing pain, Bruendor didn't see the giant albino gecko until it had fastened its jaws on his leg. The pain was excruciating.

Kel swings at the lizard again, hoping to clear the threat and heal Bruendor before it's too late!

Together, Anklebiter and Lefrik render the remaining drow warrior unconscious. Kelendra tries to shoo the lizard from Bruendor's body, but she misses the albino chameleon rather badly. Wounded and missing its master, the lizard makes a break for the open crack in the far wall, trying to scuttle out of sight.

AoO on the lizard from Kelendra and then the fight is over.

'Nasty lizard, that's MY dwarf!" Kel swings with all her might at the beastie that just feasted on Bruendor.

Kelendra swings at the white lizard, but it is nimble and avoids her blow as it makes for the crack in the wall that leads outside. It flinched slightly as it encountered the brilliant sun outside, but quickly adjusted and scurried out of sight.

Spoiler:

Congratulations! Everyone earns 540 XP, taking everyone's total to 9320. Only a few more encounters to level 5!

"HEY..." Realization dawns on Lefrik, "Is Bruendor hurt or something over there?"

Anklebiter squeaks, his ears vibrating in distress, but shakes his head.
"Yes, he looks hurt BAD," he says. "But either let the ladies fix him up or get him a healing potion - I can't help, I need to keep this spell going or it'll all be for nothing!"

Another 1d6 ⇒ 1 Dexterity damage to the downed Drow. Maybe not sporting, but if he wakes up all of a sudden I'd like to see him immobile. ^^ Speaking of which, we're going to need to tie him up very securely; once the spell ends, so do all of its effects!

Hopefully we'll make it that far, DM!

Anklebiter whimpers and whines when he notices more blood oozing out of Bruendor.

"Check my pack!" the Goblin calls to the others. "Right pocket, second from the top! Four bottles of golden liquid, with a twist of flax around the neck! They're healing potions, get one down his throat and dribble any dregs onto his wounds!"

Lefrik nods and looks about for a bottle of golden liquid, if need be lighting a torch or something so he can see the color. Once he finds one of the ones described, he moves towards Bruendor with his usual haste.

"Hang on, Bruendor..." and stops as he sees Kel is already on it.

Bruendor gasps for his breath as Kel's magic brings him back. "Careless," he says, coughing up red-tinged spittle. "Careless and foolish. I've cost us energies better directed towards our enemies." He gingerly sits up, looking around to note the absence of the lizard and the defeated drow. "What have you all got left?"

"One prisoner," Anklebiter replies, as he continues to wave his hands over the unconscious Drow, arcs of necromantic energy playing between him and the downed Elf. "Speaking of which, we need to truss him up good and strong."

And another 1d6 ⇒ 4 Dex. damage. Stop me if he hasn't got any left. ;)

Lefrik puts the potion back, and then tries to help tie up the drow prisoner, "I'm not sure how helpful this one will be."
