As my son tackled me yesterday in a chocolate induced sugar fury (thanks grandma!) I found myself wistfully wishing I was trapped in a hell house in lands unknown. :p
Happy belated Easter.

Looks like the DM is pretty busy this week.
No problem on my end as I am in WAY over my head at work. (I have to do a complete financial audit for 2014, which was before my time here -- and my specialty is not exactly finance or accounting.) You know, add that to my normal overloaded plate at work and I don't know how I'm going to additionally find time to design and start a new Saturday D&D campaign, keep up with my gold and silver trading (hobby that makes savings for retirement), keep my girlfriend happy, organize a Shakespeare cocktail party in a couple weekends, and keep up with my four PbPs.
So take your time, DM.
(and thanks for letting me sigh out loud a little bit)

Sorry for the delay. Been up for almost 36 hours trying to get the old house completely cleaned out for a final walkthrough this evening. I will update tomorrow (Thursday) sometime.
Part of the problem has been everytime I had a moment over the last day or so Paizo's website has been down.
I am still here. I am not dead, just feel like it at the moment.
Uruk K'al-xad |
I'm standing right there, I will carry it all for now. Hell I have the sword too so I might as well just loot the whole place.

Vacation time ahead....
We are leaving for the beach in the morning (Monday, April 18th) and will not be returning to (Monday, April 25th) during this time I will be unable to process turns and will have very limited internet access. So everyone take a week off. Feel free to use the discussion thread for planning, general chatter while I am gone. I will update the game upon my return.
Have a great week,
Billy

Okay, now that he is gone, lets discuss the fact that this is some sort of illusory hell house and we are all screwed. I vote we burn it down!
:p
Uruk K'al-xad |
Its technically yours Perdita but you had previously posted an action that is going to be processed after my turn (coming up the stairs) and Nilan will go before you (his move to withdraw technically happens after I urge him in my action to retreat). Then its the armor. Then Illufaus then me again.
DM Asmodeus |
Um, so whose turn is it? Can we get a repost of Initiative Order or something?
I always post current initiative with every post and a OOC statement for who is up next.
The delay was waiting on Uruk's post so that I could process everyone elses actions that went after him. We are all caught up now and maps have been updated.
DM Asmodeus |
Upon further review, I do not. So, I basically wasted a spells known on a spell I cannot cast for the foreseeable future. Joy.
Can we just make it a Firebolt? 1d10 damage.
We will make it firebolt but you can switch out that spell known if you like. Since you didn't realize the material component.
Uruk K'al-xad |
Before I act is there a sense of the condition of the armor at this point? Does it seem pretty wrecked?
Illufaus dying-star |
Sorry about that, I don't know what happened! I thought I posted, but I didn't stick around to see, because I had to go out. I'm still here, and I'll make sure to post properly for my next turn.

Oh, please excuse my lack of knowledge for the new game system (It won't be the last time I make an error due to that.). Please apply the appropriate penalty and keep my attack and backwards movement.

@ Perdita
You get two abilities at first level. Divine Senses and Lay On Hands.
Divine Sense
The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell. You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier. When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended uses.
Lay on Hands
Your blessed touch can heal wounds. You have a pool of healing power that replenishes when you take a long rest. With that pool, you can restore a total number of hit points equal to your paladin level x 5. As an action, you can touch a creature and draw power from the pool to restore a number of hit points to that creature, up to the maximum amount remaining in your pool. Alternatively, you can expend 5 hit points from your pool of healing to cure the target of one disease or neutralize one poison affecting it. You can cure multiple
diseases and neutralize multiple poisons with a single use of Lay on Hands, expending hit points separately for each one. This feature has no effect on undead and constructs.

Sorry about the confusion -- my character sheet is updated on my Profile.
.
In the Recruitment stage and then once we started this campaign I was playing a first and eventually second level Paladin in my first ever game using the new WotC system. I was just going to use the same crunch for both PCs (despite significant differences in fluff). But we leveled quite quickly and were probably near fourth level -- and radically over-treasured -- by the time this campaign got rolling. (We just made eleventh level Sunday night and there is NO way to compare the two PCs now!) Anyway, I was thinking my Lay on Hands came later. I can't even remember what that PC was like at second and third level.

Spirit attack against Uruk.
Life Drain: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2) = 10 Necrotic
Uruk DC 10 Constitution Saving Throw if needed.
Con Save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (7) + 0 = 7
The target must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the creature finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
Uruk K'al-xad |
Well that was...unfortunate. But hey! It wasn't the broom or the sheets...so...ya know...small victories?
Uruk K'al-xad |
Yeah, i'll be honest, its what I love about Ravenloft. Its a brutal setting and honestly I think its at its most fun when everyone is scared s%!!less for their lives. It bends the classic expectations of heroes and heroics.
DM Asmodeus |
Spirit attack against Illufaus.
Life Drain: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3) = 12 Necrotic
Illufaus DC 10 Constitution Saving Throw if needed.
Con Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The target must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the creature finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

Ok for Hack and Perdita lets clarify the movement for the posted action as the squares you both initially posted are unreachable in a single round.
@ Perdita
From your position you are not engaged in melee so you can use your movement plus a dash action which will give you a total movement of 60 feet (12 sqaures.) Which will put you on the first floor at L 10 I believe.
@ Hack
You are engaged with the specter so you will have an option of using your action to disengage which will leave you with 30 feet (6 squares of movement) and no attack of opportunity and put you at F6 of the third floor on the stairwell.
Or
You can take an attack of opportunity and move and dash which gives you 60 feet of movement (12 squares) and would put you at L9 on the stairwell on the first floor right behind Perdita, but if the attack of opportunity hits you then you might end up down or dead, depending on the roll.
Which of the above are you doing Hack?
