Was variant human allowed? I don;t see anything expressly against it in the original recruitment but I figure its better to ask?

Currently working at cleric of Torm (War). Classic heavy armor caster of god. If I can take the feat at one with the human variant then I will probably grab the Sentinel feat. If not then I will be a bit more beefed up I guess.

Variant humans are allowed.

So,.... go to level two even though I died? I was unsure because in the Campaign Info it says we lose a level when we die.

You only lose a level if you start another character. Dark Power Resurrection does not cause a level loss.

Dark Power Resurrection is available for levels one through four only.

Uruk, as soon as your new character is ready, let me know and I will bring him into the scene.

Can someone give brief instructions on leveling, please? I know I get a d10 HP. Anything else at 2nd level for a Paladin?

Hit Points: 1d10 ⇒ 10

[dice=Hit Points]1d10

We take averages. You get 6 hit points, spellcasting, smite, and a fighting style. Check your player's handbook for info.

(If I had a Players Handbook I would've leveled a long time ago. When we started this campaign I was also starting a homegame trying out the new WotC game-system -- there were books there. I'm no longer in that game.)

Tonight I'll grab my PC sheet (Paladin) from my last game and use that as reference. I'll post the update (for review) Friday morning.

Male High Elf Warlock 3 Passive perception 12.AC 16 (13 unarmoured). Hp 24/24(8). Spell Slots 2/2 (2)
You will have 2 level 1 spell slots, and 3 spells known. Your fighting style will probably be either defense (+1 AC with armour), or great weapon (reroll 1s and 2s on damage dice). Smite allows you to expend a spell slot and deal an extra radiant damage to your attack equal to 1d8+1d8xthe level of the spell slot (s0, a 1st level spell slot deals 2d8, a 2nd level deals 3d8, and so on).

At level 3 you have to make a big decision on your archetype, so I suggest you try to get a player's handbook before then, otherwise you will be getting more spells than you can find on your previous character sheet.

If you need any help, ask, and I can try to walk you through the process.

Male Human Barbarian (Outlander- Zealot of Saxwyn)(CN)/3, HP 35/39: , AC: 16 , Saves: STR +6 CON +6, Initiative: +2, Passive Perception: 14: Rage Remaining 1/2

From PHB:

Divine Smite: Starting at 2nd level, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can expend one Paladin spell slot to deal radiant damage to the target, in addition to the weapon's damage. The extra damage is 2d8 for a 1st-level spell slot, +1d8 for each spell level higher than 1st, to a maximum of 5d8. The damage increases by 1d8 if the target is an undead or a fiend.

Just in case you wanted to copy onto your profile. ;-)

Thanks.

I 'knew' all the stuff; I just didn't know the particulars. The two campaigns started at the same time but in the homegame we were well into 14th level when our PbP reached 2nd level and I had forgotten what low level leveling-up was! And during the last couple months of gaming that homegame I kept forgetting to grab a PHB to level Perdita Imogen to 2nd. Then we finished that campaign (at 17th level) and I no longer have access to the books. (I'm not joining the new game because football season is right around the corner (my Sundays gone) and the WotC system is not to my liking (Pathfinder is preferable).

When I get home from work tonight I'll grab my PC sheet (17th level) and look at your posts and will update my PC here Friday morning when I get to work.

Meanwhile I'll start by giving Perdita Imogen 6 more HP.

Again, thanks!
(and sorry for being so late)

Leveled-Up

Please check

....Could someone post the spell Cure Wounds so I have the details? (It's on my homegame sheet but I never once cast it so I never wrote down the details.)

Cure Wounds
1st-level evocation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

A creature you touch regains a number of hit points equal to 1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier. This spell has no effect on undead or constructs.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the healing increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.

I saw the PHB tonight (borrowed it until Thursday) and noticed that I can't get Hunter's Mark until I choose Oath of Vengeance and get it as a Bonus Spell. I will correct this Monday or Tuesday at work.

Sorry for the slow updating this week, been really hectic, updating the game now.

I would rather just leave them. I don't want to have another encounter with the ghouls just for a bit of extra gold and a couple of spell scrolls.

I enjoy Illufaus's new abilities, but I would rather not gain any more, if you know what I mean.

Pit damage to Perdita

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 bludgeoning from the fall.
Damage: 2d10 ⇒ (2, 7) = 9 piercing from the spikes.

Male High Elf Warlock 3 Passive perception 12.AC 16 (13 unarmoured). Hp 24/24(8). Spell Slots 2/2 (2)
The reason Illufaus created the illusion was so everyone could escape, and Perdita would still be safe in the pit. Another fight with the ghouls is very likely to kill us, especially seeing as Perdita is at 5 hit points, and Jiang is level 1.

I was trying to avoid conflict, because I enjoy playing this character, and I would rather he wasn't deformed to uselessness (and starting a new character who will always be a level below what is expected doesn't appeal to me).

But, if it's a fight, it's a fight. I guess I should just resign myself to it.

Male Human Barbarian (Outlander- Zealot of Saxwyn)(CN)/3, HP 35/39: , AC: 16 , Saves: STR +6 CON +6, Initiative: +2, Passive Perception: 14: Rage Remaining 1/2

What the hell are we running from? How is Jiang seeing if he is human. It is total darkness without light.

Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15

I can see because the torch isn't extinguished so its casting light from the corner it was thrown from. He doesn't know what is coming but knows that Illufaus is worried about it (hence the distinction between my vague comment in character versus my more precise notion out of character...)

Male Human Barbarian (Outlander- Zealot of Saxwyn)(CN)/3, HP 35/39: , AC: 16 , Saves: STR +6 CON +6, Initiative: +2, Passive Perception: 14: Rage Remaining 1/2

I was operating under the assumption that the torch was put out entirely when he threw it aside - thus, plunging us into complete darkness.

Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15

Nah, GM had it on the map generating light. Otherwise I was thinking it was the same.

There is only a 25% chance that a dropped/thrown torch will go out. It is still putting out light as marked on the map.

In five-feet corridors it makes more sense for Perdita Imogen to go second because she has Reach. But I'll take the lead if you want.

Where are you leading the one tunnel is blocked by a portcullis. (between M27 and M28)

If you are going the other runnel, please post grid coordinates so their is no confusion.

I apologize to all of you, but I am having a difficult time investing myself in this particular PbP. The most likely reason, is that it is Ravenloft, and I have been engaged in this campaign in my regular tabletop game for months now, and I am not really a fan of the setting. DM Asmodeus has been great throughout, as usual. My fellow players have also been outstanding. So, it is with some regret that I respectfully bow out of this one. Any of you who game with me on other PbPs know that this is uncommon for me, but like I said, I am just not feeling this one due to outside forces. Good luck!

Bye Hack!

So, DM Asmodeus, are we going to get a replacement player now?

Human Monk {Entertainer} HP 10/10 | AC 15; Saves S+3 D+4 C+2 I 0 W+3 Ch-1; Passive Perception:13 Insight:15

Sorry folks I have been having a myriad of access issues, I apologize for the spotty posting.

Sorry to see you go Hack but I understand.

YEah I agree, rough to play with three, so how do we want to handle this now?

Happy gaming to you, Filios!

This table has had trouble keeping players from the start. It has been a struggle at times. With my work schedule increasing and side commissions going strong I need to cut back some of my PbP game tables anyway.

Sorry to say folks, but I think I am going to close this one down.

It was good gaming with all of you and I wish all of you nothing but the best.
