Quick question to Tapestry, why 16 int and 14 wis? Shouldn't that be the other way around since you're a cleric?

Tapestry |

Hi all, should be good!
Quick question to Tapestry, why 16 int and 14 wis? Shouldn't that be the other way around since you're a cleric?
Well, I wasn't going for an 'optimized' character, and in any case, if I put +1 in Wisdom every four levels it'll be level 15 before the Ability Score limit on maximum spell level is hit (and then just for a level - and presuming no outside boosts in the meantime)... I doubt that's soon enough to cause much worry! Besides, I like a good selection of Skills.

DM Aron Marczylo |

I'd also like to ask Krenn what his alignment and abilities are since he hasn't posted a character, but did have the background concept up.

DM Aron Marczylo |

actually, think I'll edit his spoiler when he posts his character. I don't want to hold everyone up for a single person.
Here's the IRC thread: thread

certainly loving the rp going on between everyone here. Certainly like to see what happens when Zellara appears.

Tapestry |

according the Core rulebook and other sources, you should be able to identify it. It doesn´t say anywhere trained only.
EDIT: hm... quite unsure now. It doesn´t really say anywhere trained only but then there is couple lines or more like indicators "trained only". Since you are Cleric and have Spellcraft as Class Skill, you can try. After all, it´s a game, where DM can houserule it for you to be able to do it
Just to clear this up: Spellcraft's listed as 'Trained Only' both after the Skill's name on page 106 of the Pathfinder core book, and with a 'No' in the 'Untrained?' column of 'Table 4-3 Skill Summary' on page 89.
While, sure, the DM can houserule whatever he wants, until told that I'm gonna' assume that there's no reason he'd be checking my sheet every time he asks for a skill check (he's got enough to do running the game!). Besides, there's no reason not to ask for a skill check the character can't take anyway - it helps us all see what sort of skills may be useful on this particular adventure path!
Weirdly enough, the request for this skill check has made me realise we have a deficit of arcane casters...

Aventi D´Gaudon |

mhm true. Just did not pay so much attention --> fast check and other stuff then. I agree that can´t really do spellcraft without ranks on it but as you said, we are missing people with this skill or at least ranks on it. I am thinking to get some ranks on it if necessary but not really good idea since can´t get CS to it :P

lol well that's the one problem with picking people by concepts and not by types. It was between you and a Bard becuase I thought Bard would definantly balance the group, but then I thought no, concepts is what I wanted and concepts is what I got :)

DM Aron Marczylo |

We really shouldn't need spellcraft too much at level 1, but i'll take a rank of it next level anyway.
Very true. Would be unfair if it was a life or death kind of thing. Can't think of any situation where that would be possible though.

DM Aron Marczylo |

I know, I know... knocking on the door with no group plan is a little nuts... but then again, she is Chaotic. Hope it doesn't derail anything too badly!
heh, if I was in this group and using a Dwarf I would've gone straight for the door because I enjoy playing a sterotypical dwarf.

Aventi D´Gaudon |

Hey, where is the fun then :D we are doing things as we do. With this kind of group (none of us know each other so well) plus it´s supposed to be like this-> not alway there is need for plans or etc, until trust / know each other can be achieved and also nothing ever goes according to plans.
Also it´s more fun this way that we can try to adapt and use our imagination to reach our goal and see how situation develop and respond to it in our way :)

DM Aron Marczylo |

Curnach is simply not wishing to leave any stone unturned behind them, so wants to investigate the ship first before the fishery. + secret doors are far more exciting than normal doors.
It's just that extra word "Secret" that makes them so exciting. :)
Plus loving the roleplay here. You all have a interesting outlook on it, though I do wonder what the other two are going to do. I think we jumped the gun a bit.

Aventi D´Gaudon |

Yah true :D I think they will love us from this or we are screwed if Krenn "rushes" to fishery while we are looking through the ship.
Hopefully, something like convincing him "you can torture the half-orc as much as you" etc something along these lines for these. Hopefully he accept it.
Not sure how actions will be but I will be going with everyone forward, if something happens (with this speed possible ahah), since I will be out 3-4h.

Aventi D´Gaudon |

More question for fellows and also thinking for me: how will be your level advancement and dipping? Got plan for myself, but would like to see how you will go along the story. Concept first I guess, then balance (I admit, some kind of glue is need to bring us together but will be interesting).
Here is my build for the next couple level. Will post later maybe full list. Having idea from my background
lvl 1 Monk-feat: Dodge
lvl 1 Human-feat: Mobility
lvl 2 Monk-feat: Combat Reflexes
lvl 3 Human-Feat: Weapon Finesse
lvl 5 Human-Feat: Scorpion Style

Curnach Daveck |

Straight Urban Druid, focused on Spellcasting. I spontaneously cast domain spells from my Fire domain so expect to see fireballs at level 5. I get Wild Shape four levels late so not really into the whole wild shape meleeing, or any meleeing at all in fact. I get Thousand Faces very early as an urban druid so will be using that as Alter Self as much as possible for instant disguises and racial shifts.

Tapestry |

Looking at the speed which PbP usually progress at, I'd not imagine long-term leveling plans to be a big issue... ;)
But, that said, I'm kinda' keeping my options open. Probably pure Cleric, but part of me is wandering about heading towards Mystic Theurge long term - if we get to that sort of level, her Ability Scores would probably suit that better than pure Cleric anyhow.

Tapestry |

I've posted Tapestry's next set of actions, but I'm doubting the guy'll be around to actually hear her pretty speech with all those attacks coming his way before she gets another turn. After all, she went first in the initiative order - the guy was obviously uneffected by whatever it was she was trying to do - and I'm doubting that 'team vengeance' are all that level-headed about meeting Mr Lamm... ;)

DM Aron Marczylo |

Hehe, I was planning on this post earlier but forgot to do it:
The door to the fortune teller's shop opens once more to admit a slender figure concealed by a long hooded cloak. For a moment the figure stands and peers at both the man in simple robes and the scale-armoured swordsman...... Then she pulls back the hood of her cloak to reveal herself to be a strange-looking woman with purple hued skin, long white hair, and all-white eyes - attractive, in an exotic way, despite the cobweb-like lattice of pale scars which cover her face. Smiling at the two men she brushes a strand of white hair from her eyes with her right hand - a hand clad in a metal-shod and spiked gauntlet - then moves her cloak back from her shoulders: beneath the cloak she's dressed in tight-fitting dark leather, with a long whip coiled at her many-pouched belt. A silver holy symbol of Calistria can be seen around her neck.
'Well gentlemen,' she purrs in a rather sultry tone, the smile never leaving her lips, 'it looks like you've started the party without me...'
Stepping over to the table she takes the bottle of wine, pours a glass, and drinks. A sinuous 'arrow-head' pointed tail peeks from beneath her cloak as she stretches and places the glass back on the table. Reaching into one of her belt pouches she removes and holds up, face front, what appears to be a harrow card...
Quote:... a colourful looking card laying there with a picture of many people dancing and jugglers as well as round tops. The title at the bottom of the card says "The Carnival".'Would my aim be off if I were to assume we're all here for the same reason?' she asks, the smile still playing across her face, as she adds, 'Since neither of you fine looking fellows are this "Zellara" lady who owns the shop.'
*The DM's jaw falls stright through the floor.*

Funnily enough his main attack is pissing off the Croc so it attacks everyone since everyone will be within 5ft of it's little pool, on the other hand he acts so late in the initiative you will probably all escape or kill it before it acts.

Quote:'What's it to be, father dearest? Me... or the shark?'Of course, if he chooses me, I'm gonna' have to invest in a bag of holding or something to cart the old fart about... ;)
I was honestly at a loss at what you said, not knowing how you were going to keep him alive.
Since this is a golarian world and I'm sure it's possible to buy a bag of holding if you have the money. Will have to go shopping for that.

Anyone object if I handle the group loot stuff? I do it for a lot of PbP's so i'm pretty competent. Once we get all of Lamm's stuff sold we'll divvy it out in GP shares. AVenti's shuriken will come out of his share. Estimating about 600GP each from what we've found so far.

Works for me.

Short version - just trying to mess with the guy's mind to psychologically torture him, don't worry about it. :)

Well, Tapestry's Chaotic in Alignment, so she really doesn't care - although I'd have thought any Good types we may have would first try to return these ill-gotten gains to their rightful owners? I mean, we've already as a group just murdered a guy - whether he deserved it or not - taking blood money and stolen goods isn't exactly in the good-guy handbook! Adventurers have such weird attitudes about the right of ownership... ;)

Curnach hasn't developed a moral compass one way or another, hes the true neutral that simply hasn't had the framework to develop one way or another, rather than the true neutral trying to bring balance to everything.
We will bring the brooch back to the queen, simply because trying to sell it is more than trouble than its worth and the queen may pay a reward that is greater than the value of the brooch.
Edit: In fact, everyone here is neutral, with one chaotic neutral and one lawful neutral. Please bow down now before your Druidic overlord, who shaltt act in the best interests of a completely neutral balanced party...
