Perception check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
"This crypt has been undisturbed for decades, save for the professor's ventures. There's only one set of tracks", Quiddling says and points to the dusty floor. "Does anyone have a light?" (unless it's not needed)
Unless Stannislav takes point Quiddling will move forward to Q20 and peer around
Corinne Dunbar
"Here," Corinne says impatiently, reaching out for a weapon or something else someone in front is carrying. She clears her throat and utters a few syllables, and the object starts to shine like a torch. casting light "You have ten minutes." She takes up a position at the top of the stairs where she can keep an eye out for anything approaching the crypt -- and beat a hasty retreat if necessary. on the stairs at R 19 or 20
Sarrah Kayden
Sarrah gets out her crossbow and loads a bolt...just in case. Proceed to Q21. She will then cast light on a copper coin and throw it east about 20 feet...
EDIT for correction per below...LOL's need to keep that mind when playing 3 male and 1 female characters.
Morven Greigor
Pharasmites protect their secrets carefully. Keep your eyes peeled if you want to survive the night... Morven says grimly, with a hint of a fiendish smile.
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2 Perception
Stannislav 'Stannis' Grimski
Stannis moves toward the door and tries it, forcing it open if necessary.
So I don't have to specify, Stannis will fearlessly trigger all traps and take all frontal attacks... I mean go first and open everything unless I say otherwise.
Edit: Unless someone else wants to of course.
Theodric Mikalos
Theodric keeps pace with Stannis, morningstar ready.
put Theodric inthe square to the left of Stannis.
Quiddling Cane
"Are we expecting resistance?" Quiddling whispers to Theodric as he tiptoes behind Stannislav. Move Quiddling to O22 (right beside the statue that is going to cut his head off once we open the door... :)
"I have some basic understanding of mechanics but i am far from a specialist, i'm afraid. I do however pride myself with being rather observant", the halfling anwsers Sarrah as he waits for Stannislav to push open the door. +6 disable device and +7 perception, although no trap sense (my rogue archtype took care of that)
Theodric Mikalos
"As long as we don't try to take anything other than the items we have come here for, we should be fine. Individual families may have trapped various crypts, and Pharasma despises the undead, so we should have little to worry about."
And now we will be ambushed by 17 dread zombies...
Corinne Dunbar
Is someone providing a lightsource?

Two of them, in fact.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Quiddling sneaks behind Stannislav, his eyes wide with excitement. "As master Mikalos pointed out Pharasma is hardly supportive of undead. What do you expect to find in this crypt to use that falcion on? If we were to upset a trap surley you would want both your hands free to evade it?", he whispers to Stannislav trying to start a conversation.

I feel like if there were traps the professor would have set them off. He shrugs. And I like to be prepared. I sense no evil but something feels wrong here. Then he blushes as if he said something he shouldn't.
GM Tanner
Shedding light into the final room of the crypt, you spy a writhing pile of slime and chitinous legs in the corner. These lengthy, segmented horrors writhe and twist, pulsing venomous mandibles in search of prey.

Morven Greigor
Morven moves to F23 and with a bestial roar, hacks at one of the centipedes with his Falchion.

2d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 = 9
Stannislav 'Stannis' Grimski
Stannis throws a very quick rueful look at Quiddling before concentrating on the fight. He seems to almost transform, boyish features giving way to a look of calm, concentration. He charges smoothly across the floor into the middle of the fray, taking a balanced position sidewise, one foot behind the other, sword back over his head. An archaic form for fighting multiple foes.
Charge to F23 power attack the se enemy 1d20 + 8 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 2 - 1 = 16

Sarrah Kayden
Sarrah will double move to H22...she is done. You definitely notice that she has a limp now that she tries to move quickly and struggles to make it this far.
Those look unpleasant, is everyone okay?
She didn't see the exchange of attacks so she has no idea if anyone is hurt.
Corinne Dunbar
Corinne runs back to the stairs out of the crypt, suddenly seems to realize that if she flees she'll be in the graveyard alone, turns back, and ends up in the open doorway into the depths of the crypt. "Is everything all right back there?" she calls anxiously.
Still one centipede standing, right?
Sarrah Kayden
Of course. These puny, oversized vermin are no match for Morven Greigor! Scarface took a graze though.
Sarrah grins at the big man's bravado, OK tough guy, just making sure they don't nip off one of your toes or something. Theodric, when you are done with your new pets come see me.
To Corinne, Everything is fine at the moment. The boys found some bugs they can squish...you should come back and see...
Quiddling Cane
Yep, one centipede left. Let's see if Quiddling can finish it off.
I wish. My stubby halfling legs will only carry me so far :)
Round 1, initiative 7
Quiddling prepares to deliver a report just as a sound is heard from the chamber and the three fighters rush in. He eventually gathers his wits and comes running after. The halfing stops in the entrance with his hand on the hilt of his rapier.
Move action to I21
Move action to draw rapier
"By Desnas grace, that's the biggest centipede i've ever seen!", Quiddling exclaims in astonishment and a hint of excitement.
Theodric Mikalos
Theodric swings at the rather large bug again...
Attack:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Quiddling Cane
I'm guessing that would finish off the vermin
Quiddling rushes forward to the three now slain vermin with excited skips. He pokes cautiously at the carcases and tries to determine in what shape they are. "Remarkable! How i would love to have a intact speciment to split open and peer inside", he says as he's prodding around.
Given time he takes out a inkpen and a notebook and starts to scribble down quick observations about the creatures. If one of the centipedes is in a suitable condition he will remove the head and a chunk of the upperbody and place it into his slingbag.
Can Quiddling come up with a explanation what attracted the centipedes to the crypt and how they entered?
Knowledge (nature) check (if applicable)1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Profession (investigator) check (if applicable): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
GM Tanner
Quiddling surmises that the combination of humidity, darkness, and relative proximity to decaying corpses lured the centipedes to the crypt. You can see that the remains of their food in the corner consists of cadavers exhumed from coffins through underground tunnels dug by the enormous arthropods. A foot-wide tunnel in the corner explains their point of egress.
The last centipede dies in a splash of orange-yellow gore.
Huzzah! 100XP for each party member.
The crypt is now silent but for the heavy breathing of the party members.
Sarrah Kayden
Sarrah walks over to Theodric with a look of concern on her face, Let me have a look at that, I know, I know, it doesn't hurt, let me look at it anyways.
After a careful examination, take a 10 on heal check, she determines that the poison hasn't seemed to infect the wound enough to worry her.
She then mumbles, Spirits of the dead, heal your allies of the living! channel positive energy 1d6 ⇒ 2
excluding all 3 enemies of course.
Corinne Dunbar
To Corinne, Everything is fine at the moment. The boys found some bugs they can squish...you should come back and see...
"Eurgh," Corinne shudders. "No, thank you. I'll keep an eye out back here, if you don't mind." She moves back toward the stairs out. "We don't want to get shut up in here by something," she tells herself.
GM Tanner
Moving along...
A search of the crypt reveals that the stone lid of the central sarcophagus has been moved recently. Sliding it from the lip of the stone bier, you find several items of interest inside.
(12) silver arrows
(4) sun rods
(6) flasks of holy water
(10) well-made arrows
(5) very well-made arrows
(2) very well-made arrows
(5) white potions
(2) green potions
(4) scrolls
(1) thin darkwood case, decorated with an image of a scarab with a single eye glaring from its back
GM Tanner
Morven identifies a scroll of detect undead, two scrolls of hide from undead, a scroll of protection from evil. (You actually missed the second scroll of hide from undead, but since it is identical to the first and you identified that one, I'll give it a pass.)
All of the arrows and potions light up with detected magic. There also appears to be something magical inside the handsome box.
Quiddling Cane
"It seems that you're not blessed with great brawn but also possess dazzling skill. Well done, gentlemen!", Quiddling congratulates the fighters while examining the room and the vermin. His eyes wander over the aquired items as the party summarizes their findings with a satisfied look. His eyes stop at the thin darkwood case with "WHAT'S INSIDE?" written all over the halflings face.
Theodric Mikalos
"We can examine the gear later. Let's get back to the house, no need to stay here and risk being found by someone."
Corinne Dunbar
With the room cleared and the others examining the loot, Stannis moves back to stand near the entrance with Corrine.
"Did we find what we were looking for?" Corinne asks sharply as he joins her. "I'm more than ready to get safely back to the Professor's home."
