Rahn hefts one of those medium armor suits, a heavy leather set capped with a thick orcish breastplate. Impressive, really. The pig-children know their metal-craft. He starts tucking into it, strapping it on with hardly a second check for stray flesh and body-parts.
"It's good to be armored again... even heavy as this is. Lend a hand with a few of these straps...?"
"Freya, do you think you can have your pet finish off these rats while we armor up?
Alric can help with the rats if need be, as long as someone can keep the rats off of him so he can use his bow.
Zesaste takes a particularly light set of armour, barely even padded leather and offering minimal protection. he raises an eyebrow at the strange conversation.
If they aren't looking to attack us... Why would we waste our time killing rats? What purpose does this achieve? Lets just get out of here, by Talos...
Emelia stands over the others, letting them pick through the items at their leisure. "I agree. Let's get ourselves out of here. I'm still curious as to where we are, and why we're here for that matter."
Seeing as the rats are more interested in a goblin lunch then us, I go over and grab up a servicable breastplate and start buckling it on.
Well, that will help us out. Let's get out of here and let the rats to their dinner
Zesaste will take one of the cure light potions. He has no interest in anything else.
"As the only one that can fully use these scrolls, I can hold on to them. Unless anyone else can use them?
Moving slowly and keeping distance from the rodents the party manages to resume their run to,hopefully,freedom.
After another half an hour or so of walking the cave suddenly ends in a crumbled wall; this should mean they are now in some ruined bulding.
The air no longer smells of mold and moisture, and the hallway is illuminated from outside.
But voices of humans or humanoids can be heard in this new environment,someone is arguing.
The big Nord tsks and shakes his head ruefully "Arkay gives you the gift, Divine. Use them as you see fit." before turning down the hall to lead the way. Only when he hears voices ahead does he hesitate and pause...
One day when Rahn is a big boy adventurer he might have perks like being able to successfully sneak with a -6 armor check penalty, but even now he knows better. He halts and waves Emelia up to take a listen, holding his finger to his lips to urge silence from the group. He carefully crouches down and balances himself on his free hand, staying still and silent as possible.
Seeing that no one else picked up the potions and amethysts, I grab them and put them in my pack for later. As I clean up the battle area I rush to catch up with the Nord. As I stay in the back of the party, covering the rear from attack, I almost run into everyone else when the Nord drops to the ground. Trying not to scrap my breastplate against the wall, I drop to my knee and readies my Holy symbol.
Emelia follows the others, giving herself a few feet of distance. She chooses to remain silent, her eyes watchful of what may be ahead as the others work out their newly-found gear.
The young imperial scout have to walk just a few steps when she reaches the room the voices come from. Part of the conversation was already audible when she begun her exploration, and despite the very poor state of the corridor, with debris, old bones and webstings scattered all over, she is sure she isn't producing any sound..... <CRACK>
When she steps over a little bone,she stops and holds her breath, trying to listen better if whoever is talking heard the sound.
"Great idea Tavius , congratulations.First the Daedra, then those hooded bastards, now Hule-Claws and Sergey are gone and we are trapped here with this b&$~#. I say open her throat, wait for the night and leave. We can not continue to drag her behind us, all tied up as she is, and since you and Forsthur refuse to abuse her there is no reason to keep her alive."
"I already mentioned that we have enough problems to add the charge of murder of an imperial officer on our heads.We can always use her as hostage, and I never told i wasn't going to use her to warm my bed sooner or later. Now we only have something else to think of. If the others do not come back by this evening we will try to slip away under cover of darkness, and the girl comes with us, I will not repeat it, Ma'harruk."
Tavius and Ma'harruk keep their talking when a third voice interrupts them, probably the one they called Forsthur
This one specks with a thick northern accent "Hey, what waz that? Zomeone iz here?"
Whispering, "Sounds like they have one of the prisoners that was with us. Maybe we can free them and they can help us get out of here."
"The more the merrier." Alric replies, thinking to himself at the same time, Also makes for a larger wall between me and the foe.
The imperial girl quickly turns back and makes it safely amongst her team mates, just in time as three men, all clad in chain shirt and leather, begin to check the hallway. There is a nord (two hand hammer), an imperial (sword and board)and a khajiit (longbow), the imperial and the nord advance side to side claiming "We heard you, show yourself before we come and get you"
Emelia winces when she hears the crack, cursing herself for not keeping her eyes moving while attempting to keep silent. She stops, stock still, to listen to the voices ahead. She backs up to hopefully keep herself from being seen, nodding her agreement to Birard and Alric's assumptions, she draws her bow and takes aim.
Emelia waits for her companions, disliking how close the men were getting with each passing second. She looks around, finding little exit then heading back. Captivity not being an option, she fires an arrow at one of the men approaching the party.
Seeing Emelia turning and firing at the approaching armed men, I cast Shield and ready my dagger.
Seeing that a fight is inevitable, Zesaste moves towards the new enemies and imbues his blade with power once more.
Rahn hears the shout of panic and roars in response, the thunder ripping from his throat as he rushes down the corridor making a gods-awful racket. "FOR TALOS! AND GLORY!" Footfalls strike like hammers and his bulk comes crashing through like an avalanche, approaching the captors with a vengeance.
Alric will shoot at the nearest foe.
The khajiit shoots an arrow at Zesaste, opening a small hole in the dunmer's abdomen
The other enemies run until they are in melee range with Rahn and Zesaste.
