Like Grod, Garen has healing so between the two of us we should be able to revive her and help her heal through bed rest but that would be best at her home. Garen, however, will want to catch the perpetrator.

"I'm out of healing songs, any song of power really." The bard admits, "And I Never learned proper gnomish medicine."

Grod checks the fallen Ameiko for signs of life, and while he can tell she is still breathing, the extent of her injuries is not apparent to him. She is bruised, beaten and bloodied and there appear to be dozens of small bite marks visible on all over her body. Her eyes is severely blackened, and crusty blood is visible on her nose and mouth but even as he tends to her, she barely stirs.

As Grod and Ari bend to the wounded barkeep, Garen sees the northernmost door open, and a pair of goblins, equipped similarly to the others, walk down and start banging on the southernmost door. So far, they have not noticed Garen, Tot or those with Ameiko.

Goblin:
"Hey, wake up in there. Time to get going if that's the plan. Load up the unconscious one and get out of here. Heeeeyyyy!"

The goblins raise their shrill voices at the end, getting frustrated by no answer a the door such that all those in the basement can hear them, that and the pounding on the door.

Finally, the southernmost door opens, and a groggy voice says. "Ok, ok, I am moving. Get the others, and let's move out. I will get my sister."

Seems like a good time for initiative rolls. Make them if you wish. I will roll for any stragglers at next update. Map shows relative positions of the goblins so far.

Ari holds his position despite the noise of intruders and potential fighting, staying with Ameiko and mostly staying out of the way as the bruisers take over the hallway.

Tot moves up the corner, but the crush of foes and allies in the hallway makes it impossible for her to engage in melee, and impractical to attack at range. "Clear the way so I can get at them!" she cries her blood lust rising, oblivious to Ameiko lying unconscious in the next room.

Blue Goblin tries to slip past Garen in the narrow hallway.

She will hold her action if an enemy comes within melee range.

Izzy drops the beat on her violin, inspiring her allies to better and stronger feats of martial prowess after moving forward and just behind Grod.

Seeing the heavily armored orc approach, Red Goblin strikes with its malformed dagger. The armor holds up however, and turns the blade aside. The goblin then opens the door to the room they were knocking on, pushing the door inside.

Garen is able to slip down the hall over the rubble and attack Blue, but his stabbing strike misses the crafty goblin.

Grod drives his greataxe into the skull of Red Goblin, killing it in one fell stroke.

From inside the room with a now-open door flies an arrow aimed at Grod. The arrow scores a serious hit penetrating vital organs of the warpriest.

Blue Goblin attempts to slip through Garen's legs to freedom, and almost succeeds before the warrior cuts off his escape route and is able to get a slice in for good measure.

End of Round 1

Grod takes 7hp dmg. I need to read back to see what his HP total was after the goblin fight previously and if any healing was applied. On to Round 2.

Red goblin dogslicer vs Grod: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Garen is able to cut down the goblin sneak with his two attacks. He then moves into the doorway of the small room, which appears to be an office of some sort.

Isidiana's attack of any kind is rather feeble and does not hit anything. She does keep her performance going to fuel her allies combat skills.

Grod stops attacking for a moment, given his heavy wounds, and casts his last spell into a form of healing, but he is disappointed with the results that only help marginally.

Shoving her own allies out of the way, Tot bursts past Garen into the room, shouting at the man inside, who appears to be a half-elven man of Minkaian descent. This obviously is Ameiko's brother (half-brother it seems) Tsuto. "Where is my boss!" she cries lunging at the unarmored fellow with her own blade. Assisted by the warlike music, she scores a hit, wounding the half-elf who grunts in pain.

Striking Tot with his open hand in kind of chop, Tsuto hits a nerve center, and Tot locks up, dropping her weapons and being stunned for a brief moment.

The divination spell reveals magical dweomers from a ring on Tsuto's inert finger, and from a vial of sparkling green liquid in a belt pouch. Another belt pouch contains 10 platinum coins.

Atop the desk are 6 pouches filled with gold dust and 8 pouches filled with silver dust that seems to be ingredients in glass-making pilfered from the open safe above.

Erridan takes the masterwork thieves tools, and the party scoops up the rest of the gear for later evaluation. Ameiko is able to walk after the healing hands from Garen.

"Take the dust if you wish," she says. "Seems like the least I can offer you for rescuing me. Can't believe I was stupid enough to walk into this mess..."

When she listens to the others talk she says, "My brother is dead? He was in league with the goblins, I don't know why. He kept saying 'I'm doing it for her' but he never said who that referenced. Do you know?"

She does want to go see the body of her half-brother, and bends to have his dead form a gentle touch. "He could've been a good man, but he never really had a chance, I guess. I am sorry he's dead, but I don't know how it could've been avoided at this point. Think he was responsible for the goblin attack on the Swallowtail Festival as well...They have a way in and out through here somewhere...Have you seen it?"

He insinuated as much, as least. He said he, and my father by extension, were responsible for the goblin raid. Again, he said he did it for "her" whoever that is."

Ameiko is able to walk under her own power, but still looks weak and dazed, from both the physical and emotional trauma. "Lock up the safe, I suppose," she says rather absent-mindedly. "And if you get me to the Dragon, Bethana can help nurse me. There's a potion or two stashed there as well..."

Unless you have further things to do here, you get the barkeep back to her inn, and the halfling housekeeper takes over, doting on her, and feeding her at least one healing potion that seems to make the physical ill much better.

"If everyone is good with that, I think we should go find the sheriff now." With no objections, Garen steps out.

LOH Grod: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10

LOH Tot: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Among the effects taken from Tsuto was a leather-bound journal. I will add the gold and silver dust to your loot since you are keeping them now. Feel free to take time to appraise or identify as you are back out of danger.

Isidiana will take time to identify things as best she can, "Secret Tunnels? There should be a song about Secret Tunnels somewhere, mmm."

After quick study, Izzy is able to determine the potion is a simple curative, but the properties of the ring escape her magical skill so far.

The potion is Cure Light Wounds. There are other casters in Sandpoint that could help with the identifying if needed, for a price. You will also want to Appraise the non-magical loot to determine its value at some point.

I will allow everyone to be at full 2nd level HP after returning to the Dragon.

Izzy Spellcraft Potion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Izzy Spellcraft Ring: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

"No idea what the ring does, but I am sure I can make up a story about that sounds good, perhaps it causes one to hunch and talk to themselves, or works in brightest day AND blackest night. Even better, we get someone with better skills than me to take a gander. Potion heals light wounds, that is, not glowing wounds, but wounds that aren't so intense, not that a light wound can't be intense. I had a hangnail once that was misery and.. right. Sorry, rambling." Sheepish.

"Grod doesn't use a shield, why don't we have him wear the ring in case it has protective magic. Hold one second." Garen detects evil. Would a cursed item show up as evil?

The ring does not give off an evil aura but its actual properties seem to elude the casters in the group for now.

Grod, they offer the ring to you to wear, do you put it on?
