How did exam go Skruwdriva?

Well I passed - quite. Because of heavy blackouts I was clear under my own possibilities and expectations so it feels bad ... But its over, nothing to change, so whatever. Thanks for asking.
DNA-coded knowledge would be nice - wouldn't it? ^^

This is Wanderer82 tapping in with my completed (minus requisition) Void-Master, Wraxus Drake.

As for me, 33 yr old male from the east coast of America.

Background up, working on crunch. 30 years old, US central time zone.

Gaius Valerius Metallus Tenebrae:

The second son of a rogue trader dynasty stretching back to M37, Gauis Valerius Metallus Tenebrae did not expect to lead. His elder sister, Valeria, was a more capable shipmaster and trader. Gaius's strength was in logic and scholarship, happily stuffed in the family library on Tellir Secundus and hidden among the stacks as his read various esoteric topics well into the early hours of morning. If he had not belonged to a rogue trader family he would likely of enjoyed a career among the Adeptus. The plague of M40.948 changed that. The plague found its way onto the Indomitable Will, flagship of the Valerii family fleet. The plague cost the lives of Valeria Metallus and most of the crew as they tried to provide medical aid to the stricken world of Fomor Quintus. With this Gaius was called to take over as the patriarch of the family.

The first few voyages went well, the remaining retainers left over from the plague were quite helpful and easily managed the family assets while Gaius tried to learn skills and adjust to duties that should always of been Valeria's. The fourth voyage was where catastrophe struck. The fleet was on course for Scintilla to rest and refit for a planned exploratory voyage and to offload exotic cargo. There was only the hint of turbulence in the warp, but the navigators of the fleet agreed there was little danger and opted to make the jump. The navigators were wrong. The fleet was hit by a sudden warp storm, tossed about and scattered. Of the four ships that made the warp jump, only the Indomitable Will emerged, battered and torn. Since then, Gaius has been trying to rebuild the family's fortunes. The crew now find him engaged and vibrant, where before he was withdrawn, distant, and bookish. He throws himself with vigor into each new task, relishing the challenge and the chance for glory. The star of House Valerius, once dimmed, is now ascendant.

Artorius Von Castmirre, Rogue Trader Extraordinaire is done on paper, will transfer to computer in the morning.

he is forgeworld born and raised, and still maintains ties. More detailed backstory up when I have the profile done.

Edit: What is the group's starting profit factor?

Browman: I think there are going to be two separate Rogue Traders with different ships, so I would think there will be two different profit factors depending on who you are/work for. Could be off base though.

It would be good to clarify that, rogue traders aren't exactly known for playing nice with each other, often times even in the same family (there is only one warrant after all). Still if there are multiple rogue traders perhaps they are related?

Dark Archive

I thought that was an option, if multiple folks wanted to play actual Rogue Traders?

Hum di hum dum

Browman here with my rogue trader. I am in Canada on eastern standard time.

some background:
Art grew up in the slums of a forge-world among the tech-menials. Around his 15th birthday a man came, claiming that Art was his nephew and the last member other than him of a Rogue Trader dynasty. The Magos of the forge-world used this opportunity to bring another rogue trader into their sphere. The house was gifted property and discounted upgrades were provided to their ship.

Years have past into decades and Art is now Artorius Von Castmirre, a relatively young rogue trader, who thinks too highly of himself and disguises his quick mind and fast hands with a roguish demeanor and willingness to engage in dueling at the first slight.

Dark Archive

If the rogue traders are not from the same dynasty then profit factor and ship points shall be separate, hence, 2 ships.

Players can apply to whichever rogue traders they like. Rogue Traders on the other hand have the option of accepting or rejecting fealty.

Players with no dynasty shall be considered to be on Footfall looking for work.

Lukin fowad to dis!
do da boyz get motvasun and bakground?

Almagafor what do you think related or not?

Browman: Yeah, I'm down with you being my nephew, we can work on merging backgrounds after I get up to get ready for my overnight shift.

Scarab Sages

I'd been waiting on whether there was a free pick in the origin path or not, but I'm guessing no. Is there anything that the group really needs or is missing? My stat spread would work for quite a few things.

Hey, Gm, can you check out my spoiler? Thanks :)

sorry to hear that.

will be posting discussion thread later when i get home.

Just went to look over my character again and found my profile blank. I have reentered the crunch, about to retype the fluff. Here's a quick overview.

Wraxus is a skilled pilot, capable of operating both a great star ship as well as the aerial vehicles used PlanetSide. The product of the fortress world Kurdran III, is one of the vat-born, a lesser caste of men birthed in a process similar to that used on Kreig. This has gifted him with certain anatomical advantages that make him a skilled and resilient soldier, a role which he takes to naturally.

Rogue Traders, front and center, please. Have your retinues been assembled?

List of submissions (as far as I can gather):

Astorius von Castmirre - Rogue Trader
Gaius Valerius - Rogue Trader
Hexa'SkruDriva - Ork Freebooter
Zoggit - Ork Freebooter
Wraxus Drake - Void-Master
Tyboris - Explorator
Khalid Abd al-Quadir al-Shihab- Seneschal
Nimina - Arch Militant

LegoGuy4492 has posted a link, but it doesn't work for me.

If we're dividing in half across ships that's 4 each.
Orks get better with more of them? I think Gaius has expressed a sympathy for Orks, so they might both go to him, so I might be better applying my skills (or Nimina's) to Astorius?

Hmmmm... that's weird.
try this

Harrrrrh! Dats da thing, hummi. Now I can see ya!

Hi, Hexa'SkruwDriva-s late comer friend here ~

Sorry about posting already before the vote if I can join is done, just wanting to get the stats for character creation through the board dice =3

Story Summary:
Having been born on a forge world as a number rather than a person his first assignments were more on the martial side - Cleansing rogue Servitors. At one point he managed to subdue a pair, reprogramming them to start his own servitor army. This led to his first recognition in the Techguard, marking him for exploration missions aquiring tech mainly of Xenos Origin. He founded his own theory during these endevours - that the vile Xenos have never created their own Tech. They have taken from the Holy Principles of the Omnissiah and added their own perversion. Thus the holy mission for this Xenostech is to extract the Omnissiahs holy principles from them to reaquire the lost technology from which it was stolen.
This theory gave him the breakthrough to join the Techpriesthood, but at the same time sprouted a sea of hatred from the most orthodox priests. After a while he got fed up with this politicking getting in the way of his studies so he got himself posted on a ship - being a fan of Agap I'd like this to be the Occurance Border, many years before its Service in the Inquisition. The ships peculiarness explaining the Dark Voyage through the Warp with insufficent gellerfield coverage
Not being able to take it anymore after the ships prow got violated the second time he jumped ships once more - eventually ending up in service to the rogue trader as xenotech and warp specialist.
