Oh, I wasn't even thinking about the lighting conditions really. I was thinking more of the things a wayfinder can do, like when you put an ion stone into it.

three silly questions, sorry if I missed something...

1- do i roll for HP?
2- gear totalling $1,000 or add $1,000? meaning, can I now buy a $1,000 item?
3- how available are magic items? depending on the answer to #2, I would like to buy either bracers of armor or a 1st level spell wand.....

1d6 *3 light weapon

Basically a hand axe with a backward-pointing spike, a boarding axe is used to chop through hatches or rigging, to drag burning debris off a ship, or as a weapon. A boarding axe is a one-handed martial weapon that uses the same statistics as a handaxe, except it deals slashing or piercing damage. In addition, the spike grants a +2 circumstance bonus on Climb checks on wooden surfaces.

I have a regular game tonight so I will be light on posting tonight.

I am assuming that a trip to the market is order for everyone.

also this is a pirate port town so there should be no problem finding everything you are looking for. (within reason)

grung: a port town you should be able to get a boarding axe for 4 gold instead of 6.

I will have a simple encounter at the market after everyone purchase their stuff.

I was buying 10 pints of oil (1 gold) Hey it burns! in place of alchemists fire due to costs, but a group effort on supplies might be a good thing!

I have been known to pack-mule items for spellcasters before. ;)

Valdric once we know each other you might want to let balthe cary the wand since he is healer focused.

agree, once we figure out how effective the group is we can determine whether to spread out the healing or consolidate. I agree with your thought process, just need to get to know you a bit better!

wow, a busy day at work and you miss quite a bit!

when you say we can find "just about anything"....

Id love to find a darkwood quarterstaff (1/2 the weight, +1 masterwork quality bonus). Pricing says add 10gp per pound to the masterwork price, but can you have a masterwork quarterstaff? and how would I calculate price for it beyond the +40gp for the darkwood??

other than that, thanks Grung for the offer. If I can find this staff itll probably deplete my funds other than a few more days rations if we think we'll need that on the ship?

ok good news bad news.

from what I can find out a quarterstaff is also considered a double weapon and as such the cost for a masterwork quarterstaff is 600 gp plus 40 for darkwood thus 640 gp total.

good news is you can find one.

ugh.......kind of nutty for a length of wood but the math makes sense. Oh well, I'll drool over it for a few minutes, then buy some rations and proceed to the marketplace encounter.

OK seems there is either confusion or something else...
basiclly here is what you got...

there are two different evil factions vieing for power the party has been thrust into it possibly not entirely by choice.

the idea is to find a way to bring down both but first the party will need to find the right allies.

they will be found in the village of Haanex.

the Uncle Vinny thing is a red herring so to speak...basiclly, just a case of mistaken identity.

Vincez is a part of one side of the conflict. during the ocean voyage the group may want to get what information they can from him. of course the party may have to determine truth from lies and decide for themselves what to do about him.

I am giving a little bit of DM info to help clarify much of what is going on.

This Adventure is not entirely a case of straight forward good guy kills bad guy type scenerios.

I hope this helps to clear things up.

should I move forward to boarding the Albers? or is there more you want to do befor the ship sets sail.

the passgae for the party is already arranged so no payment from the PC's would be required.
