Evenstar
|
Evenstar peers into the darkness. "I can't see a thing!" she says. "I hate to light a torch...more fire seems like a bad idea, but I'm not sure what else to do," she says as she digs for a torch in her backpack, then lights it with flint and steel.
Once she has illumination, she looks into the room again.
Farg
|
Valiant as ever Farg leads his companions into the chamber and studies his surroundings trying to understand where the flames are coming from.
Guess I can try a detect magic here
Farg
|
Yeah humans! Such inferior creatures! the Tiefling adds in his creepy voice with a raspy chuckle.
GM Baerlie
|
Farg detects a magic trap which caused the fire ball.
The sauna itself is dark and bare of any furnishings, although the walls are decorated with a large mural of the Qadiran desert and a second large mural of a battle scene. Arcane sigils decorate the ceiling. Blood stains the floor, and any liquid spilled on it boils in a small gout of flame.

Knowledge Geography1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Knowledge Arcana1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Farg looks around the chamber and realizes from the relative position of different points on the mural that this seems to be a map of Qadir with several key landsmarks covered over by sandstorms. However the smartass Tiefling lacks the wit to draw any conclusions from this information.
Evenstar
|
Evenstar's eyes narrow as the aasimar and tiefling discuss the shortcomings of humans.
"Let me make something clear," she says with a frosty edge to her voice. "You don't want to mess with me, and you don't want to put me down, or you're going to see me get upset. You don't want to do that..."
intimidate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
The barbarian throws one more icy stare at the pair and then moves to investigate the room.
Farg
|
No. But I don't want to be threatened by my fellow pathfinders either...
The Tiefling replies unfazed as he wanders around the chamber trying to make sense of his surroundings.
Emm sorry but I have a strong dislike for using intimidate on fellow group members... very uncool in my book.
Evenstar
|
Not trying to be uncool...just play up her character. I notice that you are rping using put-downs, which I'm completely fine with and like. She's just trying to give as good as she got. Not trying to rock the boat, just RP (rolling a social skill like bluff or intimidate, for me, is not the same as harming a fellow group member). Apologies if you think it went too far.
Kavaki Gossamar

Kavaki pulls 2 potionsout of his pack. Drinks one and offers the other to anyone interested.
"Tastes horrible, but it will prevent harm from extended exposure to heat. I've got an extra, anyone want it?"

Farg likewise pulls out a potion and guzzles it.
A very refreshing... the Tiefling remarks.
So what do we make of this place?

A blood sacrifice? So maybe this machenry allows for evoking sandstorm with a blood sacrifice. How distasteful...
The Tiefling concludes.
Farg
|
Well I'm in no mood for sacrificing my fellow Pathfinders today.
Farg concludes in all earnest as he scratches the mural with his claws a bit making disturbing noises that seem to lighten his mood.
Let's push on. It's getting hot in here...
Kavaki Gossamar
|
"After that horrible tasting potion, I din't even notice the heat anymore. Agreed though. There doesn't seem to be any reason to linger here any longer."
Evenstar
|
Sweat beads on Evenstar's forehead as they consider their next move.
"I hope this isn't an indication of things to come..." she murmurs as they move on.
Evenstar
|
Welcome back, Baerlie! :)
Evenstar looks noticeably relieved as they descend into the cooler temperatures.
"It looks like we only have one way to go," she says as she points to the doors to the east.
Farg

Farg leads his companions further into the complex an intent eye out for any dangers.

You are standing in front of the left door, so I will open this one ;)
The walls of this room are lined with weapons: crossed halberds, spears, and longswords, all decorated with flame motifs. Two shields with portraits of Moloch towering over the Citadel of Flame sit near the ceiling.
Seinaru reveals that these are all newly crafted items. A plain obsidian bench sits on the floor, with a skeleton splayed across it. The skeleton’s armor is bedecked in stylized flames, and its scimitar’s hilt is shaped like an idol of Moloch. The room is lit by two torches.
Kavaki Gossamar
|
"Too bad I have not need or interest in weaponry. Some of these items looks pretty nice. Maybe they'll provide some nice coin back in town though." Kavaki takes another look at a couple of the weapons. "Either this room is well protected from the weather of time, or we are not alone here. These things appear to have been forged recently."

Farg looks around unwilling to trust this chamber for what it is and a bit irritated by the skeleton.
Careful folks. Don't touch anything this might be a trap...
Evenstar
|
Evenstar frowns. "It does look like someone has been here recently. I guess we ought to check that skeleton out," she says.
She examines the room thoroughly from the doorway before entering.

Seinaru identifies the skeleton as a normal human skeleton. Evenstar detects a viewport behind one of the weapon racks.
