Chronicles of the Silver Rose Company

Game Master Patrick Curtin

This campaign is my attempt to play a canonical Planescape campaign using the updated Pathfinder ruleset. The game actually predates the release of Pathfinder, but we have managed to update as we have needed.

Hamar nods to Karrin, "Where you go I shall follow then".

Could be a trap though, so Nari, you watch this stranger and make sure she's up to something . . ."

Nari nodded. "I'm no telepath, but I'll let you know if the stranger means harm," she says, her eyes glowing briefly as she manifests Detect Hostile Intent.

Human Wiz 12 (Evocation)

"Right before we jump in, I have a spell to turn your sword into a beautiful instrument of flaming death. I don't get to use it much." Justin tells Hamar.

RIGHT before Karrin says 'go', Justin Casts Burning Blade (3.5) on Hamar's sword, Gains the Flaming Burst ability for 5 minutes.

Justin makes sure all of his usual (long duration) buffs are up and running. :)

Male Human (Athasian) Cleric 10

"I can lead with a burst of energy from Great Flame, to try and weaken it," Ekuur says, as he ignites the flame on his trikal. "Also, before we go in, allow me to protect us all ..." Ekuur will cast communal protection from evil, giving everyone 1 minute except Hamar and Karrin, who receive 2 minutes.

Human Wiz 12 (Evocation)

As Ekuur 'does his thing' as Justin would say, the wizard reaches over and smears some oil on Hamar's blade, which promptly is covered in flames.

"Go get 'em!" he smiles.

Burning Blade 3.5 AKA Flaming Burst ability on Hamar's sword for 5 minutes

And, just as Karrin raises her arm to give the signal, Justin throws something on the ground. There is a flash of translucent flame in a circle around them, and everyone has a small barely visible flicker of flames around their person. And moves twice as quickly as usual.

HASTE for everyone! :)

female Tiefling 12th level Duskblade

"Oh right," Karrin says with her best dumb valley girl smile at Nari, as if the fact that elan's psychic abilities only now occurred to her, "That will work even better."

"Okay then," Karrin says to the team, "Standard tank and spank, meaties in the front, sneakies to the flank, and squishies rain down hell. Hamar we'll give you a cold count of 100 to get into position, then we come up the center? Any questions?"

Hamar nods to Karrin and sheathes his blades so that the flames do not give away his position. As always, the Barbarian's speed is practically blinding as he heads back up to the entrance staying out of sight. He creeps into the space looking to take a position that allows him to come behind the creature or at least flank it.

"INTRUDERSSSSSS!" The creature circling the ebon sphere screeches

The stranger has hostility, but it seems pointed at the creature

Dungeon Monkey:
Seeing the creature turn, Blayze holds her breath. This could be the opportunity she needed. She would wait until the revenant was distracted and try to get her gun hand free. She could worry about the rest after it's final death.

A golden sphere starts to form around the masked ectoplasmic horror. It reaches a claw to touch it and it pops like a soap bubble. The creature turns to Justin and smiles, its porcelain face splitting in an impossibly wide toothy grin

Sadly, that means you are >dominated< . Since attacking Blayze is against your nature you get another saving throw with a +2 bonus. If you fail next round you must attack.

Justin feels his feet move on their own as he walks over to the grinning horror. It points a long claw towards the former prisoner with the impressive firearm

Justin's head rises from his hands and he looks at the lady the creature is pointing too. His eyes narrow, a familiar look that usually means he is calculating and weighing his options.

Justin's hands burst into flames as he gathers power for another spell.

Male Human (Athasian) Cleric 10

No he doesn't :-) You will note I cast communal protection from evil right before combat on everyone. Justin can't have mental control exercised over him for the next 9 rounds (1 minute duration).

Human Wiz 12 (Evocation)

YAY! Forgot about that one! (ANd of course Justin wasn't smart enough to cast his own Prt/Evil before we entered the ghost posties lair) ;P

So he's good for now. In 9 rounds is another story,... O.O

Oooh. Nice save. I had forgotten that too

Justin feels the pressure of the thing's compulsion, but it is as if a shield has slid itself between him and the urge

Human Wiz 12 (Evocation)

"Whoa, what the?!?,.." The flames fade from his hands and Justin shakes his head like a dog with a chew toy. Then the wizard looks at the masked ghost. He looks, perturbed.

"Oh your gonna regret THAT one Smoky the Ghosty. NO one plays mind games with me!" He growls, the flames leaping to life in his hands once more.

Justin looks thoughtful, and glances over his shoulder.

"Except Karrin." He amends.

Thanks for that Save Ekuur! And everyone remember that they also have HAste for another 8 rounds after this one is over! +1 extra att, +1 TO Att, +1AC, +1 ref save. :)
