If we start buffing will whatever we cast be on for combat?


Yeah, you should be able to get your spells cast before the bandits can muster to the walls.

i think i asked this before but wooden gate? wooden walls? anything well uh 'burnable' about.


The gates are iron-bound wood. Behind the keep, there is a section of log barbican. It will take 3 climb checks of DC 15 to scramble around to the back, though. A person could expect rocks or some such to be hurled at them as they attempted such an endeavor. The weather hasn’t been especially dry, so stuff isn’t going to burn too well.

He said with a sigh clutching his holy symbol.

"father, there are those who want to cause problem for the good folk trying to settle and tame these lands. Your humble servant here intends to stop them. Keep us from their eyes."

He said aloud then chanted... a vision obscuring mist began to roil from him. Obscuring the view of anyone further than 5' away.

Obscuring Mist:
A misty vapor arises around you. It is stationary. The vapor obscures all sight, including darkvision, beyond 5 feet. A creature 5 feet away has concealment (attacks have a 20% miss chance). Creatures farther away have total concealment (50% miss chance, and the attacker cannot use sight to locate the target).

A moderate wind (11+ mph), such as from a gust of wind spell, disperses the fog in 4 rounds. A strong wind (21+ mph) disperses the fog in 1 round. A fireball, flame strike, or similar spell burns away the fog in the explosive or fiery spell’s area. A wall of fire burns away the fog in the area into which it deals damage.

This spell does not function underwater.

He moved quickly for well him. removing the oil from his pack and he began to spill it about the gate as best he could.

"I dont think this light the damned thing fully on fire.. but its something for them to worry about. I can hold the fog for a few more minutes and it will travel with me."

He began to light his torch to light the door on fire.


Obscuring mist is stationary. Says so right in the description you so kindly posted, Herger.

"Oh we've more than magic." Autumn said before she motioned to the others. "Get ready, we've no idea what awaits us!" She called. Then she took aim at the tattooed man. "I'm finished speaking."

Ranged attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 9
Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 2 = 6

Larin

Larin reached own and touched Torek's bow, grand it the power of the storm.

Thunderstaff ability, grands the bow shock property for one round

Augustina

Augustina called down a blessing from Cernunnos. "Bring us the power to cast down this pretender, show them there is but one Stag Lord!"

Torek

With the aid of Larin, Torek takes aim at the tattooed man alongside Autumn, unleashing his own arrow.

Ranged attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Thuderstaff damage: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4

Titian

Unable to join in the volley of arrows, Titian road out upon Esprit to get into position for whatever would come through that gate.

With the others keeping the man's head down Herger continued to try and light a fire at the gate.


Autumn’s arrow strikes the wall of the keep, and bounces back, landing in the grass below. Torek’s does the same, except for making a shower of sparks when it hits the wall.

I checked Herger’s inventory, don’t really see much in the way of fire making stuff. He can light a torch, but the gate has a quite high hardness.

you know i almsot always on every charector pick up oil and a lantern... and this seems to be one charector i didnt do it with >.< Well Torching the walls it is?

Autumn bit her bottom lip before a thought struck her. "Buy me time!" She said before she looked to Augustina. "Get a rope and be ready." Then Autumn began to call on the connection of her ancestors.

Following Autumn's request, Augustina got out a length of rope and made her wait to Autumn's side to wait. "What am I going to do" She asked the Huntress.

"You're going to throw it, just wait." Autumn answered.

Torek

"Right, providing cover fire!" Torke called as he let off another volly.

Titan

Titan repositioned and got ready.

Also basically useless and will also delay.

Can you describe the entrance? do the doors here open in or out Im guessing out. How thick do they look?


The gates swing in. A couple of reasons for this. Keeps the hinges on the inside, and thus protected. Also the bar works better. They are made of thick wood, and banded with iron reinforcement. All quite sturdy, as befits the front door of a keep.
In game terms, I’m counting them as iron doors for hardness, etc.

Autumn
Autumn's magic brought forth a small but loud air elemental.

"Throw it now!" Autumn shouted.

The elemental sucked up the rope before it flew over to the rampart and tied the rope off. Move and standard for the elemental.

"GO GO!" Autumn shouted as she ran towards the wall as she commanded Frostbite to go to Titan. Run action to get to the wall

Augustina

Augustina threw the rope to the air elemental.

When Autumn shouted to go, Augustina followed after her. Only normal move because she had the ready action to throw the rope.

Torek

Torek ran after Autumn, getting close in to the wall with her

Titan

Titan held steady, waiting to see if the group would be successful and be able to open the gates.

With the elemental heading towards the keep with the rope Larin decides it's time to approach the wall and moves quickly but cautiously to support the others.

He stayed at the edge of the fog, ready to strike whomeever excited the fort.

since im in the fog and they arent i will tkae that 20% miss chance when they attack me. woot
