Zavar steps forward and defensively casts burning hands toward the ceiling but he manages to barely singe The Lopper. The ghost touches Cassandra with a ghostly axe cutting her shoulder howling in terror! Find himself cornered, he floats 5' into the southeastern cell providing cover from additional attacks.

The Lopper screams for the last time after a combination of divine energy, Drasven's chops and nDevere's unarmed assault. The screams echo through the cells and stone hallway. His incorporate body bursts into glittering ash and forms into a small pile.

Alchemy or Appraise DC 15:
This gritty alchemical powder is called "ghost salt" and made from exotic minerals mixed with an infusion crafted from the ectoplasmic remains of destroyed incorporeal undead. When rubbed onto a weapon that is then placed over a hot flame for a full round, ghost salt melts and forms a temporary coating on the weapon. The blanching gives the weapon the ability to do full damage to incorporeal creatures, even if the weapon itself is nonmagical. An application of ghost salt remains effective until the weapon makes a successful attack. Each dose of weapon blanch can coat one weapon or up to 10 pieces of ammunition. Only one kind of weapon blanch can be on a weapon at one time (see the Advanced Player’s Guide for other forms of weapon blanch).

nDevere packs away her rope and scoops some of the powdered remains of the ghostly Lopper into an empty potion vial that used to contain the lesser restoration used on Drasven.

The portcullis does not have a locking mechanism located on it. The northern door is unlocked and the southern door is locked near the lowered portcullis. You explore the northern unlocked room (U5).

Western Guard Room (U5)

This guard room is decorated similarly to the others, with a table, a few chairs, and a pair of cots, yet unlike the others, no undead or haunts lurk within. A winch affixed to the western wall raises and lowers the portcullis that allows access into area U7. The portcullis is currently lowered and locked in place. The winch here can be used to release that lock (a move action) and to raise the portcullis (a full-round action).
