I should have required two climb checks for each move action which is 1/4 of your speed rounded down, or 5' for most. Accelerated climbing allows double climb speed with -5 penalty.

Windom doesn't make progress initially, but is currently adjacent to Drasven five feet from the ground as they cling to the knotted rope. Thankfully, Windom's light illuminates the rope and menacing threat.
Seeing the spirits surround nDevere and the bottleneck at the bottom of the 20 foot rope, Zavar decides to quickly climb back up and cast arcane bolt at the injured spirit from a safe position.
Accelerated Climb: 1d20 + 2 - 5 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 5 = 6 Success!

@Drasven: I need three more climb checks from you unless you accelerate climb. One for the surprise round and two for Round 1. Zavar only need one climb check before the surprise round and then one Round 1, because he did not have a surprise round action and chose accelerated climb.

Windom and Zavar are not on the ground and based on where the web token is...am I right to think nDevere is entangled, pinned under Drasven's weight (more than double my maximum load), prone, under water (knee high is deep when you are lying down), and at least no longer shaken

Zavar sends his dancing lights to illuminate the cavern and tunnel. Zavar and Windom get a glimpse of a long-legged spider at the end of the tunnel. The spider has cover at the moment from both of you.
Cass, Drasven and nDevere are unable to see the spider until they break out of the webbing. If they were not prone and stuck to the floor, then those with darkvision would have seen the spider before the dancing lights appeared.
They can attempt to break out of the web during their turn in Round 2 with a DC 19 strength check or successful Escape Artist check, both standard actions.

If Windom's CLW finished off the remaining spirit, Cassandra will stand up.

nDevere looks for weakpoints on the spider. Then makes a couple of jabs at the mandibles with little effect.

After taking a punch or two and cold damage from Zavar's ray, the spider steps on a prone, webbed, poisoned, and badly wounded Drasven with its 500 lb frame and attacks Cassandra.
Spider bite: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Two of its eight legs slip off the webbing that nDevere broke away earlier. Its bite wildly misses in a fit of hunger rage.

@GM yes, I sure hope we aren't facing a CR11 creature. Also Cassandra's channel would have been enough to awaken Drasven. He would be at 4/30hp with 8 nonlethal (and therefore unconsious) before and 10/30hp with 2 nonlethal after. assuming 34 was his level 4 max before the con damage
nDevere reevaluates the spider. And lands a right cross and a left hook on the flailing legs as the spider stumbles over Drasven.

Two CR 3 encounters which is considered challenging for party of four level 4 PC's. This encounter is a foreshadow that the dungeon is deadlier than the other areas of Harrowstone. I previously thought you would not level again, but it is probably you will hit level 5 by the end.
