I am assuming the voice saying "Open up!" our GM mentioned (in his last post as of this writing) was a joke about Naught almost not getting in...? Or is it... someone else?

My apologies for the lack of emphasis, then :) You know, the design of Harrowstone is getting me to scratch my head a bit, because I will have to work hard on this foyer, so that it doesn't become a "Oh, yes, and there's that room where the doors always lock and we have to either wait or push the doors very hard so that we can move on. You know, just dead people... They haven't really harmed you so far, so why bother?"
It's like the door closes freaking alone, and this teenager says "Sure, whatever..." and then soon enough the room is part of Ripley's Believe It or Not :( rather than an omen of something far more sinister, the monster lurking in the darkness that can simply pluck your arm off and leave you to live in fear of the dark.
Yet, to think that there is only "the monster" is to think very small. There is stuff that even the monster is scared of.

Having run this myself, I know what you mean Ulrik about the doors. I decided to make what you're talking about a one-time thing when I ran it, as I felt as you do.
Well, now you know why I didn't react to the voice. It had occurred to me afterwards (when I posted above) that maybe it's not Naught, lol. Perhaps we should react now, lol.

Happy Halloween! The perfect time to play Carrion Crown. ;)
I'm pretty darn happy so far Ulrik. This has been an excellent game, I love the roleplaying and the storytelling going on here.
The only thing I find confusing is I think you have your directions a bit mixed up? Up should be north, right is east, etc., according to the map at least. But you keep referring to directions that don't match the map. For instance, the lavatory you said is southeast and the locked door is northeast, but I am guessing you mean northwest for the former and southwest for the latter? The southeast (bottom-right) door is the one Aliseya just ran through to get into room S2 from S3 (the door we all used to get into room S3).
So now, I'm not sure if you mean the same door I am thinking of when you say there is nothing where the north door is, lol. The north (top) of room S2 has a pair of double doors?
Aliseya is not going to do anything until the others arrive... they will see her just standing there, staring at the double doors (south? down) that lead back outside, lol. ;D

Hah, I was trying to keep track of the doors properly and I failed! Sometimes I say a pair of double doors and I mean a double door, or a pair of doors (still maybe a double door).
I have annotated the map so that communication is easier. The locked door is S3.4.
I am glad the game is enjoyable :)

Haha. No worries, it's not like I haven't done the same thing in games I run. :)
Or in real life, lol.

Why don't you guys just take 10 on your Strength checks and try again? :)
I don't think there's any reason you can't?

I have the AP but it's been a while since I read it. I don't remember any of the details of Harrowstone. I do remember some of the ghosts.

I've played through the whole first chapter once in an in-person run a while ago. I also read through the module over a year ago to GM my own PbP run of Harrowstone, but we only reached the second game day.

Like Naught wrote. Plus, I think PbP allows you to get a lot more detail in the game, details I missed since my previous run as a player was in-person. And I also played a very different character the first time around, a male dwarven ranger with a glass eye. Hilarious game... Anyway, I'm looking forward to the remaining chapters of this AP as well, as the GM who ran it for my first group quit before chapter 2 began.

I'd guess late morning, though I am not sure.
I think we need to move on from this room and return another time, maybe with crates and lug the papers back to study.

            ooo new Oracle curse from Iron Gods 4;
Although Casandalee has transcended her oracle curse by becoming an AI, the rules for this rare oracle curse are presented below for use by other characters of your design.
Shattered Psyche: Your mind is crowded with dozens of voices, fragmented snippets of your past lives. You take a –2 penalty on all Intelligence-based skill checks, Wisdom-based skill checks, and concentration checks. You gain a +4 competence bonus on saving throws made against mind- affecting effects. At 5th level, you’re immune to charm effects. At 10th level, you’re immune to compulsion effects. At 15th level, you’re immune to all mind-affecting effects.
