He was already down when Amisi cast the hideous laughter..that was before we went into initiative.
On the first round he used his full round action to move 5' and stand up then you threw the javelin...Hope this clears it up.
herm... I am still missing something.
Preround: Grease and Laughter cast. Chief fails both saves.Round 1: Chief has to take a full round action to get a second save to break laughter per the spell description.
So how did he get up? I don't see where the move action to stand could fit.
Not asking for a ret-con or anything,you are already being very generous to us on the caltrop front. I've just never seen Laughter used in battle and it seems a tad overpowered to me.

Oh come on you aren't exactly having trouble here..even with me forgewtting about the second save being a full round action
And when it works to its full effect Hideous Laughter can be an incredibly effective end the fight immediately spell
Did not mean to cause trouble and I realize that so far this has been a bit of a cakewalk, that said I have not yet read the results of that possible crit. I just like to see how things are done. I am thinking of starting a PBP myself so learning how you run the excellent game that you do is important to me. Please freel free to let me know if I get annoying.

A heads up. I'll be on vacation abroad between the 18th june (this coming monday) to the 2nd of july. During this period (probably the 3rd as well to account for possible jetlag) i will probably not be able to post at all, since i won't bring a laptop and posting on my phone is a pain in the behind.
So Natalyah won't be active during that period.

IEEEE! I hope I don't fail but if i do you may want to reconsider that spell. We have a pair of Two handed sword wielding 18 str meat shields. The door will fall one way or the other. Given hardness and the reduction of elemental damage vs. inanimates that spell would be better used against something with a pulse.

Just an ahead warning. I will be helping a friend, fellow player and colleague later this week. I will be off home Thrusday afternoon to Saturday evening.
Friday to Saturday lunchtime I will be in he Netherlands. I will try to keep posting as much as possible but will do so from my phone while on the UK and likely not at all while abroad. You pay a lot of roaming charges - unless I find a free WiFi that is unlikely.

OK Folks I need some input here..
Sunday will see the second Anniversary of this game and we are still only 3/4 off the way through book 1. I don't intend to hand wave the remainder off this but am condidering doing that with most off book 2 which is a 50+ day trek through the Mwangi expanse.Does anyone have any especially strong feelings on this.
I can't handwave the Shiv part because without it you don't get the handle for the rest of the campaign

A 50 day trek through the Mwangi expanse is something that could be handled by a few rolls and some descriptive text, really - I certainly wouldn't slog a table-top team through the whole thing with random encounters and interactions with local tribes.

I am not that familiar with book 2 but is it that dull? I don't see role playing out simple days of travel but there must be something in the book worth saving? skipping/limiting random encounters makes sense with a pbp but if I know pazio there are some fun setpeices/encounters and good loot along the way. Not to mention the fact that a safari through the expanse sounds right up the Captains alley.
That said if you are bored and not having fun then something is wrong and maybe the handwave/compression is needed.
So i guess my vote is to include as much as you are intersted in running.

I should have made my intentions clearer what I was considering doing was handwaving the journeys between the various important encounters and cutting out a couple of the minor ones that really do nothing but offer background on the Expanse
I just don't want you guys wondering when the real adventure is going to start when we are another 3 years down the road as books 1 and 2 are a very extended prologue to the meat of the AP

I'm fine with handwavin the majority of the padding. It's something of an issue with these more sandboxy AP's in that they take forever since the AP 's speed is entirely based upon the players either getting lucky or figuring it out quickly.

I'm thinking about getting a different animal companion, as much as Quetza is cool, it seems that the dungeon crawls will be more and more prominent. So I may try for a more mobile and accessible ally. This is of course upto DM wellard if that is at all possible. But this is just a thought for now, I don't know how this adventure progresses or whether or not Quetza's presence will cumbersome or helpful later on... :/
Also i'm guessing its a handwavey moment for what happened to the dragon, which is fine with me as Atzi would have released him back to the Wild after the fight was over. She had no reason to harm it and didn't want it to give the others a reason either. :)

Yeah, as much as it would have been righteous to fly around he will be useless once we start doing a bunch of dungeon crawls. =/
I could see leaving him behind to guard the Island when Atzi is gone and I will just put it in her story that she plans on returning to the Island eventually to reunite with him. Simple and easy. :)
The normal length of time is 24 hrs at least correct? I know she has to go through the ritual again but I will double check how long she has too wait.

Ok Seriously not understanding this total defence stuff on the first round of every combat.
The ex-captain is in a 5 'tunnel and cannot exit it unless you let him .Natalyah Caithen and Setebo are outside that tunnel and within striking distance.Perhaps I am at fault for not explaining things more clearly.I cant do maps of caves because my mapping system isn't up to it
