I do not charge into archer fire when it is possible to avoid that. It looks like people are taking up reasonable positions, just not giving your archers anything to see or shoot at.

Stali has trapspotter, so even from second rank he has a chance of seeing a trap before someone steps in it. I was putting Andrietta in the front because she moves slower than others. Other than that, tried to protect Sarano and Gallako.

Perception +12, +14 vs. traps

At doors:
Check for traps, take 10 and two active checks (roll for them)
Warn if trap found, allow others to back up.

Disable, take 10 for 25.

I don't mind being in front as well, but figured others would likely want to. As I mentioned, putting him in second rank allows him a chance to see traps before someone steps in them.

I'm definitely planning on giving the GM boon to any GM even if their table doesn't fire. They've already done 1/2 the work by then.

I think the general way we handle things.

I know that several places give the boon if you sign up and show up to run a table. As you said, they presumably did the preparation work and they showed up on time.

In addition, if a GM is sitting there actively attempting to drum up players (without poaching from another table) it is seen as a good thing and inclusive.

...at least, that's how SKALCon fell down when I was up, I even volunteered to emergency GM if needed for an overflow table for the Special, but it wasn't necessary.

Around here, you can get dirty looks at some of the mini-conventions if you try to do that.

Sounds like our cultures are reasonably similar. People shuffle to enable tables to make, people run cold if necessary to accomodate unexpected people, pretty much everyone wants PFS to grow, etc.

We're not, unfortunately, as organized as you seem to be :-(. I suspect that is partly because we have no local Venture Captain

We try hard not to run cold. Most tables are announced weeks in advance and we have a good RSVP system via Meetup. But I have Phantom Phenomena nearly memorized. It is my "switch to this and hustle" option if tables fall through at a con.

We have two local Venture Captains for Minneapolis and St. Paul, but then we're huge. Lots of game store density.

So... Do you do Jim Con? If I plan for that convention, will I get to meet you?
