what's everyone kind of thinking for their Rat guy?

I was thinking a Despereaux type rat swashbuckler inspired blade but I have many ideas beside that.

my ratfolk is a cavalier mounted on a riding rat.

You could always play a really excited Scavanger. Someone who just loves to tinker with various things. If you do, you will have to save Graves of Crystalmaw Pass for that character. Trust me, a scavenger character would love that adventure.

There are a few downsides to the class, but one of the upsides is not having to worry about how to Detect Magic in order to identify magic items. The archetype allows you to do it via a skill. I played through Ire of the Storm with a Scavenger and it was fun. I will probably make one for PFS at some point.

Aside from which, I went through some effort to get someone a Ratfolk boon to do the Rat Family, and Ysoki are a playable race in Starfinder...

PS Regarding Starfinder... Chak, you will be pleasantly surprised. The game system is intuitive and the adventures so far are a delight.

What levels are everybody? I'm mostly assuming level 1 but lots of people have GM credit babies, Emerald Spire runs, etc :-)

My immediate thought would be either Let Bygones Be (likely proceeding to parts 2 and 3) or a module.

So guys, I'm going to be joining the US military(Army. I'll be shipping out to Basic training on January 2nd and then training for about 6 months.

I'll be basically out of commission as a GM/player from January to almost June of 2018.

I had hoped we would have been able to start that ratfolk campaign before I left, especially with Wei Jei going to great lengths to get me a Ratfolk boon but it looks like I probably won't be able to join you guys on a Ratty Escapade.

Hey.

Be safe and careful during Basic. Keep yourself and your unit whole, in body, mind, and spirit. It will be hard to do, as the basic conceit of Basic training is to devolve the Self to be less than the Whole. Reach the balance point, help your fellow soldiers, and keep strong.

If anything, this is slightly good news, as I STILL have 'writer's block' and have been struggling to come up with a good ratbaby to play in it.
