Thanks for your patience Porablum. we'll get you in here once this combat wraps up.
If either you or Bazikian have any neat ideas for how to work you in in the middle of the forest I'm open to suggestions. I don't feel like the ideas I have are very interesting.

Well, I am a follower of Desna who loves butterflies. Honestly, it's very possible Porablum was walking to Heldren, saw a butterfly, chased after it, got lost, and is now very confused why winter showed up in the middle of summer.

Love it! Love it so much!
Welcome Porablum! Excited for you to join us!

GM My Bright Morning |

Sorry that encounter took a while to wrap up. you're up now Porablum!
Bazikian, I'll leave it to you to say your goodbye to the party and exit

Brominate |

Bazikian, it was great playing with you!
I also want to let you all know I'll be in the hospital for the next couple of days. About to be a second time father! The wife is being induced tomorrow morning (around 6AM for some unearthly reason!)
So....feel free to bot me! ;)

Porablum Flapzit |

I will be out of town this weekend, beginning this afternoon. I'll have my phone, but may have difficulty posting. Please bot me if necessary.

Hjorleaf Asvidrson |

I will be traveling until next Sunday. I will have my laptop and phone with me so my ability to post will not be infringed...but since I am traveling into another country I will be limited in when I can post. It is not that much money for the international phone plan but we are only using it for emergencies. I will be able to post when we get to the hotel and log in on the laptop. If I am needed and it can not wait till later that night, please go ahead and bot me.
Thank you in advance

Sorry for the delay everyone!
My son was born Friday at 1:09 PM, weighing 7 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long.
We spent some time in the NICU because he had some fluid in his lungs. But he's doing well now and We were all able to go home Monday.
And, as some of you understand, I have had literally zero opportunities to post anything. ^_^
I returned to work today, which means I can actually make posts again!
:)

GM My Bright Morning |

Congrats Brominate! Glad things worked out well. My second daughter had to go back to the NICU with fluid in the lungs after a couple weeks, I know how stressful that can be!

GM My Bright Morning |

Trying to move things forward as it felt like things were stalling out in this clearing for a bit. If anyone wanted to apply more healing before moving on let me know and we'll do it retroactively.

GM My Bright Morning |

I will be traveling overseas for work over the next 2 weeks. I plan on still posting regularly, but the timing will be a bit off because of the time zone difference

Grimgisli |

Been a weird couple of days. Was at work from about 0700 Sunday morning to 0100 Monday, then from about 0700 to 1700 Monday. I just collapsed when I got home last night. My apologies. And, of course, tonight is Scout meeting night . . ..

Hjorleaf Asvidrson |

Since there was still snow on the ground our meeting was a little shorter than I thought it would be.
I came home Saturday night and ended up going into AFib. I was admitted to the hospital and spent several days on blood thinning medications. I had too many test to remember and blood drawn every 6 hours. Not a fun time at all. I ended up getting a cardio version with one shock at 250 Joules. I am soar as hell from the burns and at home now. I will try and get a post up when I can but I will be honest...it is not my main priority right now. lol Bot me as needed for the next couple of days please. Thank you.

GM My Bright Morning |

Damn, that's rough. I'm sorry to hear that.
Take whatever time you need, don't let this be a stressor for you. I will keep your character moving until you're ready to post regularly again

Hjorleaf Asvidrson |

Thank you everyone for your words. I am doing much better and feel I can start to spread my wings so to speak. I am slowly getting myself back into PBP games. I will post a few times here and there but should be back to normal posting in a couple of days or so. I am not pushing myself to quickly as my wife would not be happy. So baby steps...

GM My Bright Morning |

I apologize for this segment. it is probably my least favorite part of the AP, at least in the early books. it's a long period of exposition that is hard for the party to interact with since most of the time they will have little knowledge of Irrisen and are focused at the moment on just closing the portal.
I generally dislike when so much important information has to be given in a short scene like this to set up the main quest of an adventure, but in this case I haven't found a better way to do it yet in the times I've run this AP.

Hopefully with the point in Linguistics I could better sync with Porablum during fights.

Grimgisli |

No module is perfect. A little exposition can be painful, but it is usually there for a reason. Much of this would be hard to give out to a group without Irrisen natives in it. Even then, all of it can't be assumed knowledge for natives.

None taken. Part of the fun of playing Porablum is her general cluelessness and boundless optimism. She's not particularly fond of the idea of any kind of legal slavery, especially given that the witches are trying to blanket the world in snow, but she'll work with the group.

So, Brominate would really love to get a Mithral Shirt while here in Waldsby. The normal price for that is 1100gp (although, this far north, prices might be a tad inflated?).
I wanted to run that by everyone first, though. I don't really plan on buying anything else this stop, I don't think.

Hjorleaf Asvidrson |

I will be out of town till late Monday night. I an starting the actual construction on the viking house and will a bit busy. So my posting will be limited at best as it will be from my phone. BOT as needed.

Hjorleaf Asvidrson |

Just got home. We got a lot done over the weekend. Foundation, floor and walls are all done. We also wrapped the structure in water proofing.
I get to go back up in a couple of days to start filling in the dirt to cover up most of the house. I also will start building my stone wall.
Then it is on to the loft and roof. Still need to build a door and complete the fire place in the floor. Then after all that is done I get to start work on the carvings inside. I have a few people I know who love to do these things. That will help out as I will be very busy forging the a frame to hang all my cast iron pots from.

GM My Bright Morning |

OK, before you go shopping, here is some info about the town. it is a very small town without a lot of magical options. this is intentional in this AP in the early parts of the adventure. you end up needing to rely more on what you find rather than what you can buy.
Waldsby has a base value of 500 gold, a purchase limit of 2500, and only 1st level spellcasting available.
there are however some specific magical items available in the town. I'll just list them here for convenience, you can RP hunting them down if any of them actually appeal to you.
+2 studded leather
+1 darkwood quarterstaff
+1 composite shortbow (+2 str)
oil of protection from evil
multiple potions of feather step
+1 arrow catching light wooden shield
belt of mighty constitution +2
any mundane and alchemical items you are looking for will be available, but as mentioned by Nadya finding cold iron may be difficult and/or may raise suspicions.

Didn't know we were carrying around that much money. Seems like a lot.
Need to "spend" the troll loot in trade before we touch the cash. Unlikely to get the full cash value from this little village. Place is small enough a mithral Shirt would be an amazingly lucky find. We could purchase 2 of them, though, for about what that +2 Studded Leather is gonna cost.

Lucky indeed. Mithral shirt is my favorite common piece of armor, especially with any Dex-built PC.

GM My Bright Morning |

mithral items cost more than the base price of this size village, but my understanding is that the limit is designed specifically for magic items. the shopping options are limited enough in this AP, that I am willing to let you guys buy anything you want from mundane equipment lists.
thoughts?

Grimgisli |

Very generous.
Special materials are typically far more restricted than stock mundane items.
If you want to give down this path, we should build and come to a consensus on a prioritized master purchase list.
I know Grim is just as interested in a mithral shirt and wants a Str +1 Composite Longbow. More than one item is a major part of why I think a consensus priority list could be important.
We should also figure on trading in the stuff we won't want to carry.

Easlis Taer |

Grimgisli we could exchange longbows if you wish. The +1 str longbow would serve you better than me. Though I would not mind having a +2 composite longbow, for some reason I end up using range attacks just as much as the scimitar.
