grim did take 10 damage in the last fight or two. so when you update the HP toal it should be max -10.

ALLENDM |

Just so I am clear...
We destroyed Thora (The Doll). Do we still have the gem (the eye)? Did we ever find out if that gem does anything or still holds her soul? I was reading through all the posts but I feel like I am missing something.
I don't mind telling Nadya I just want the story to be straight :)

GM My Bright Morning |

wait, so does that mean that Bazikian took the eye with him, or did someone else end up with the gem after the rest of the doll was smashed to bits?

Grimgisli of Irrsen |

Just a heads up to everyone. I am heading to the lake on Thursday night. I will try and post but I plan on doing some fishing and hog hunting this weekend so I plan to be outside a lot with my boys. So no promises :)
Jack

Grimgisli of Irrsen |

Hey all,
I just got my laptop back up online. My SSD failed and I am on vacation. Was able to get an SSD shipped out and got it this afternoon. Just got it reimaged and back up and in action.
Will post as soon as I am able.
Jack

Grimgisli of Irrsen |

I will be going into surgery this Monday and will be home that evening. I am not sure when I will feel the urge to post, it could be a couple of days. Bot me as needed please.
Jovich,
Hope every thing goes well!
Jack

GM My Bright Morning |

I apologize I haven't kept up with this better, but I am realizing now that we haven't seen anything at all from Brominate in a really long time. I have been running a lot of games, and it gets difficult to keep track of who all is posting regularly.
looks like we're going to need to get a new player after this encounter

GM My Bright Morning |

I am heading into a tough crunch time at work for the next two weeks. i will post as i am able, but I expect that to go down quite a bit for a little while here

Easlis Taer |

No worries and thanks for the heads up. It would probably be better if you'd do the recruitment for Brominate's replacement afterwards. It's such a shame he'd left.

GM My Bright Morning |

i believe i have a replacement ready for Brominate. i recently recruited a new player for one of my other Reign of Winter tables, and one of the runners up will be joining us after this encounter

GM My Bright Morning |

should be back to a more regular pace of play starting Monday. I'm going to get a post up today as well

ALLENDM |

All,
The last couple of weeks have been tough and it doesn't look like it is going to slack off. I have an elderly aunt that we take care of as she has no direct family left. She is 87 and she took a really bad turn in the last few days. I had a host of little RL issues pop up related to our house, the kids, and work but then this popped up as well. I am not sure I will be able to post in the manner I am used to and I don't think it would be remotely fair to anyone if I attempted to try.
I am going to step away from the game.
Sorry for the notice.
Jack

GM My Bright Morning |

I'm sorry to hear that. that's definitely a hard situation, and obviously takes priority over anything else. I hope you get things back into a stable place soon. if you are looking for games once things are looking better you are always welcome in one of my games.
for everyone else, this seems like a good time to take stock of how things are going. do we want to round up more players and continue?
we are already int he process of bringing in one new player to replace Brom, and now we are losing Grim. that means we're down to just Easlis as the last of our original troupe.
options are:
1. continue on with only 4 players for a bit
2. recruit another new player to replace grim asap
3. end this campaign here
4. merge this group with my other 2 ongoing RoW games. one is a level ahead of this group, the other is just now crossing over the portal into Irrisen.
Please let me know here what your preference is

Porablum Flapzit |

Well, APs are designed for 4 players, so we can continue on with just 4 of us. Is there a good opportunity to add another player either later on in this book or at the beginning of the next?
I would prefer we not end the campaign, but if that's what everyone else wants to do, I understand.
Are your other two groups having similar difficulties with player retention?

Easlis Taer |

We had a fun time Jack. I wish you good luck and who knows, maybe when things straighten up we might end up in a party again.
As for continuing with the game or not, all I can say is that I certainly enjoyed your style of writing and would stick around if you decide to bear with us a little longer.
Having a fifth player wouldn't hurt as it could add more opportunities for social interactions, yet I tend to agree with Porablum here. There's no need to rush things, it can be postponed for when you'll have the time to review applications.

Hjorleaf Asvidrson |

2...I think now is a good spot to recruit and I would be fine to take some time to recruit a player.
3. I would rather not do that
4. I am fine with joining another of your games if that would be easier on you.

GM My Bright Morning |

yes, Erystelle is our new fourth player replacing Brom.
there are a few spots coming up that would make sense to bring in another player. there are really more spots in this book that make sense to have people join than a lot of the rest of the campaign. I'm less worried about bringing in new people and more just wanting to make sure that the people we have are still interested in continuing.
my other groups have all lost at least one player, but the turnover has been markedly higher in this campaign for whatever reason. i think all of my other games have only lost 1 to 2 people over the course of the game where this one has lost 5.
i really just wanted to check in and see if A) there was something about this game in particular that was making it hard to keep players (party dynamics, GM style, pace, etc) or B) if the high turnover was leading to a negative play experience for those that are still in the game

Hjorleaf Asvidrson |

I do not feel that the GM is at fault. Sometimes players and characters do not mesh well together. I thank you for running this game and sticking with it.
As for the future...
what are we doing? I would hate run this scene if it is for naught. What do you as the GM want to do?

GM My Bright Morning |

I was just giving you some room to do introductions with a new party member joining. I will move things along a bit here.

Timm Tones |

Hey guys! I'm one of the new party members the GM mentioned. Thanks for having me! @GM, I'll keep an eye on Gameplay, just give me a hint of when I am to come. Cheers!

Porablum Flapzit |

GM, I've got a question regarding a rules interaction Erystelle just prompted me to think of.
My Oracle curse makes it so I can only speak in Celestial during times of stress (like combat). Would that apply to my speak with animals SLA? Like, if I tried to use it during combat, would I babble out in Celestial regardless?

GM My Bright Morning |

that's a good question. would be interested in what others think on this one, since i don't have a clear answer, but I would think you could make it work.
normally you can use it when speaking common, but the animal doesn't know common, the spell is bridging the gap. so I would say it works the same while you're speaking celestial. the spell bridges the gap between whatever language you're using and what the animal can understand

Timm Tones |

I'm still here, although my Timm still didn't join the campaign :) Still waiting for the clue from our GM to start.
Regardless: I believe the spell/SLA should work despite the curse. It's not like it's abusive, to be honest (like Ring of Eloquence, which I think it's stretching the rule).

GM My Bright Morning |

sorry, things have slowed down a bit here (maybe because of holidays?) I was not expecting the scene in the clearing to take nearly that long. you will be coming in shortly, once the party arrives in the next town.

GM My Bright Morning |

I'll send him a PM. I hope we're not losing another player, Easlis was the last of the original party...

Hjorleaf Asvidrson |

Just was looking over a few things to see where we stand with the characters and I noticed that there are different levels.
Porablum and I are at 4th level. Tim tones and Erystelle are both at 5th level. Did I miss a level...lol

Easlis Taer |

Hello,
Sorry for letting you guys down. I saw that there was no post in the game for a long period of time and have not checked it until this Monday when I was happily surprised that things have started to move.
I can not open the message GM Bright have sent me because of site errors so at the moment I have no idea what he sent me.
Though I was very pleased to see the game start rolling again, I took some time to deliberate if I should continue with the game or if I should leave that position to someone who can be more committed and who has better writing skills. And was about to write that with the current schedule it would be a bit too much for me, but to be honest, I really enjoyed playing with you guys and I'll do my best to post more frequent from now on.

GM My Bright Morning |

Glad to have you keep playing with us Easlis. I see nothign wrong with your writing ability, and have been enjoying the character you have been building. the game as a whole has been slow, but as long as everyone wants to continue it isn't a problem.
the message i sent you was just to ask if you were still around, so you can disregard.
as for levels, you are all close to leveling up, so the two new characters are coming in at the next level to keep things simple.
