Thanks Melea, there is no discussion in that thread about the broomstick (at least I did not see it earlier and also not now when I scrolled back a bit).
From the scenario it can be deduced that it is an improvised weapon as the aspis clown also gets the penalty (normally her to hit would be 4 higher). Note that I would not be surprised to see table variation on this part, it is a bit vague.

Just FYI, tomorrow we round up this section, as we are not near to ending combat, likely we will hit tiebreaker. Not to panic! Most lower level groups also are facing similar, just the nature of being unable to use your first choice weapons and do Non lethal only.

The dice fall where they do, I had the opportunity to heal, but went with what I did. Wasn't expecting that second crit, though.
But the fear of death is what makes victory so sweet! It can happen to anyone at anytime!
