Hi guys, I'll be joining as your new apothecary from the salamanders chapter after this mission.
I've been planning the character a bit in my head:
I was planning on an apothecary with a signature master-quality flamer, which due to my chapter gets Proven (2), making the damage 8-24.
With a Reductor at AP10 I can deal relatively well with heavy-armored in melee and the less armored with flamer.
If anyone is so close I can cook it with a flamer, it's so close I won't be able to do any first-aid anyway.
With my chapter trapping of Promethean Flame Sigil the +2 to Initiative will hopefully make my aid the first-aid :D
I'll get to the rolling of the dice in a bit and thinking of a name for the pyro-doctor
Look forward to meeting you all in-game brothers

Alright, made an alias for Loghir, now just waiting for Browman to roll for armor
ask and you shall receive.
armour Mk: 1d10 ⇒ 6 Mk 7
Power armour history: 1d5 ⇒ 3 legends of war
legends of war table: 1d10 ⇒ 1
Warp taint: +10 corruption, +10 vs fear tests
Or
A hero's shame +5 WS, +5 BS -10 to command

Brother Loghir Apothecary |

The -10 to command just affects NPC and to stretch out my "zone of influence" if I'm leading the team, right?
I'll take the hero's shame. My WP is quite high
I'm shaping up to be a pretty decent duelist with WS 54 (with the Gauntlets of Xirion). I'm not very strong, but I think I'll requisition at least a chainsword (till I can get a powersword) for a little bit of battlefield-vivisection ;)
Then I'm fully fleshed out. I'll pop this all into the writeable PDF. Do you want me to send it to you or are you making your own copy?

put a link in your alias.

Brother Loghir Apothecary |

I wrote up my character in my alias, I'm not sure where/how to post the PDF online
The Mk 7 armor is kinda "vanilla", right? 8/10 and no special stuff? (other than the 100 things they normally do and my double history :D )
Now to twiddle my thumbs till you guys finish your mission ...so get a move on!

that works as well.
Yes Mk7 is the "standard Mk" in the core rulebook.

Brother Loghir Apothecary |

Requisition:
Diagnostor Helmet (15)
Astartes Combat Webbing (4) -hello +20 medicae tests!
Magnoculars (3)
Auspex (12) -I recommend 2-3 more at least to find the stealthsuits
Cartograph (5)
Diploe Mag-Lock Promethean's Blessing Chainsword (20) "burning down the house!"
total: 59

Brother Loghir Apothecary |

When you requisition gear some of it requires you to have renown "Respected", "Famed" etc some of it doesn't require any. (You will notice this on the tables with the gear stats).
Once you hit 20 renown you are at the level "Respected", which is the first level of Renown (other than gear that doesn't require anything).
If you look at the melee weapon table, you can see that a Chainsword doesn't require anything, but a Power Sword requires "Respected".

Browman |

So we all have 3 Renown? can someone break down what renown does
renown determines what equipment the deathwatch are willing to let you use. Only famous, proven warriors can use terminator armour for example.
The next threshold is 20 renown I believe which lets you take things like storm bolters.

Brother Loghir Apothecary |

Yeah I saw you guys just rushed for it last time and was a little surprised there wasn't more of a tactical discussion.
I think we all (me included) jumped the gun on posting requisition as well for this mission, assuming we'd just run straight in. I'm glad we're making a solid plan for how to approach this.
Fx. since I'll team up with Tarkus I don't need an auspex/cartograph/magnoculars as he has them all (I'll borrow his auspex)
I'll edit my requisition to:
Diagnostor Helmet (15)
Astartes Combat Webbing (4)
Diploe Mag-Lock Promethean's Blessing Chainsword (20)
Cameleoline cloak (20)
total 59
With this I'm sitting at Medicae skill 103, so I'll probably be able to save you even if you get your head blown off

Alright! good to know!
So I'd be toting 5 Frag and 10 Krak in that scenario?
Oh! And totally forgot! By taking an Armorbane Missile Launcher, would we also be getting the Backpack Ammo Feed and Missile Loading Arm too?
Since it doesnt state that it explicitly comes with one but the Core book states that heavy weapons are automatically issued with their Backpack Ammo Feed and the like.
...which is giving me some pretty shenanigans Ideas if I can get a Vox Operated Missile Launcher...
Think about it:
-Have Servo-Arm Hold Vox Operated Missile Launcher
-Right Arm: Plasma Gun
-Left Arm: Bolter
-Possible due to Power Armor and Bulging Biceps permitting Basic Weapons (which the Bolter and Plasma Gun are) to be fired One Handed without suffering Recoil.
-Fire All Three Rambo Style using the Vox Commands to shoot the Missile Launcher and controlling its aim with the Servo Arm.
-Backpack Arm Loads Missiles into Servo-Arm Held Missile Launcher essentially automating it.
-Continue Shooting with both other weapons Akimbo.
Doubt I'd ever do it because its just soooooo silly.
But the mental image is pretty amazing.

unfortunately the Backpack ammo supply doesn't list how many rounds it can hold for missile launchers and doesn't specify that has a missile loading arm. Since a missile loading arm would basically remove the downside to taking the armourbane missile launcher. I would say that all the backpack supply does is allow you to carry missile ammo easily.

Scorpelio |

Thought so hahah!
Alright, that cool enough for me! Manual Loading it is. Though I suppose I could still use my Servo-Arm if necessary...if clumsily due to its nature as a Giant Pincer.
Say, Half-Action to reload instead of a Full Action if I use my Servo-Arm? But I roll a 1d100 and if I crit fail (96-100?) I crush the Missile with the Servo-Arm if in a combat environment?

normally it is two full actions so with your servo-arm it would drop to 1 full action.

Browman |

As you guys have probably guessed I am using races and units that don't have official deathwatch stats. I hope over the long weekend to flesh out the tau with other units weapons and gear that they have in more recent codexes.
Also wanted to throw two ideas out for you guys to think about.
A. At some point later in the campaign having the option of one player controlling a dreadnought instead of their normal character for individual missions. No one would be forced to use it and it would be entirely up to you guys if you wanted the dreadnought on each mission.
B. At some point also having dark heresy characters that would be used on different missions. Each mission would most likely be all one or the other group.
I am totally cool with you guys saying no to either or both options. But knowing the answer to both those questions will help me sort out what missions I have planned in the queue.

Scorpelio |

Dude.
DUDE.
DUUUUUDEEE
Give me the option of having the Conemptor Frame for 100% cosmetic reasons with no actual in-game difference (even though there is one on the Table Top) and I would jump on that opportunity ASAP but would obviously share since I'm not THAT selfish.
As for B)
Let me be a Sister of Battle and you've got yourself a Super-Deal. Doesn't even need to be in Power Armor 100% of the time.

Who says it couldn't be a contemptor, this is the deathwatch we are talking about. They have all the cool toys, including the ones no one else has or thinks belongs only to their chapter. See imperial fist deathwatch model with frag cannon.
