Sorrin the Wayward |

With a flourish, Sorrin flicks filthy undead bits from his blade. It is clear the man quite adept at swordplay. Smoothly, he sheathes the now clean blade. His haughty demeanor lasts but a moment.
Thank you, all. The boy is stable, but needs care.... Kneeling down, he administers a lesser potion.
CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Embrianna |

Bri sighs and moves to help put out the burning pile of ashes.
"Well, at least I helped to kill it even if I did make a mess doing it."
She will look over at the captain. "You are still taking us out on your boat, right?"

baldwin the merciful |

The first mate is still paralyzed but he is no longer in negatives (barely), his flesh raked but hardened from the corruption.
The captain rushes to his Jenkie, "Don't y'die on me boy...who'd keep me t'gether?" He seems to ignore Bri's question for the time being. "Wonder how long he's gonna be frozen like this. He took quite a few licks, he's luck their attacks are permanent." It's pretty clear that the captain has seen lacedon's in the past and is aware of the paralysis.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astrianna's boots thump on the dock as she walks up to the sloop, eyes scanning the nearby surroundings, bow still ready. "Shouldn't be too much longer Captain. Most people who aren't immediately disemboweled shrug off ghoul paralysis in less than a minute." She says, standing over Jenkie for a few moment.
"He'll live, by the looks of it. If he gets sick in the next few days take him to Father Zalen... else the sickness will take him and turn him into a ghoul." The half-elf says matter-o-factly.
Sighing, Astrianna puts her bow into its case on her back, speaking a cantrip so four cool balls of floating light appear above her. She gets on her haunches next to Jenkie. "Come on kid... Shake it off."
She takes a potion out of her haversack and offers it to Jenkie when he can move again. CLW+1 potion

Adriel Mistleaf |

Adriel sheathes his weapon and grabs Thrasher and cradles the limp avian.
You were ferocious, my friend. Fear not, you will be able to move again very soon. Tomorrow we will pick up your dragon skin
Em, could you please heal him?

Embrianna |

"Of course Adriel." Bri moves over to Adriel and places her hand on the little familiar in his arms to cast her healing hex.
healing hex: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (6, 2) + 5 = 13
She pets Thrasher then looks over to where Astri has given the first mate a potion. "If he needs more healing, I can cast a healing spell upon him. Sadly I do not have anything prepared for paralysis. Wasn't really expecting anything of this sort to happen since we were going to investigate a possible were-shark."

Sorrin the Wayward |

I suppose this a deadly reminder of how dangerous these environs are... I wonder if these were created by Tulita or as an insult to them.
Balance is needed for a healthy world. I feel darkness weighs too heavily upon the scales. Action must be taken. And those misguided souls who believe they needn't choose... He breaks off.
I won't bore you with ethics.
Looking down upon the boy, Don't worry Captain, the boy will make it through tonight. It might help him if you would stop drinking. His presence helps you, but you're not helping him on your chosen path.
Consider this... Sorrin waves his hand across the battleground, ...an intervention.
I'll help you finish prepping the boat.
The warrior begins to move about, checking ropes, rigging and sails.

baldwin the merciful |

His aged, lined brow raises when it's suggested that his path isn't helping. "We don't know you...and last I check'd you didn't know us, so your advice of our needs isn' needed." He scratches his messy hair. "Now someone untie us and use th't pole t'push off." He goes to the sail and starts to hoist it a third of the way up. I need drink, not philosophy. If he'd seen half of what I've seen he'd climb back in 'is muther's womb.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astrianna rolls her eyes as Sorrin starts lecturing the Captain about the bottle. The bard talks to the Captain as she unties the mooring and pushes them off of the dock. She must really want to get going if she's doing the manual labor. "So Captain, do sewage-covered Tulita ghouls often greet people on the docks? I've heard the Tide is a dangerous place at night, but I feel the undead was a tad excessive."
Yawning, Astrianna finds an out-of-way place on the sloop to sit, and takes out her coffee maker and ground beans. "I'm going to make some coffee... who wants some? The Chelixan that sold it to me said it was some kind of magical blend from Nex. He was lying, which is odd, because it's still good coffee."

Sorrin the Wayward |

Every man, woman and child is allowed to speak their mind... Silence is death. You don't like it, don't heed it. That goes for all of you.
Now, why's the ship listing?. Sorrin helps sail as Jenkie recovers.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astrianna frowns slightly, contemplating what could be causing an increase in undead while simultaneously blocking out Sorrin. I should purchase some holy water from Zalen when we return.
The bard brews up some rich black coffee, pouring herself a cup. She takes a sip of the hot brew and sighs happily.

Embrianna |

Bri cast her healing hex upon the first mate. healed for:: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (3, 2) + 5 = 10
Bri just sighs as Sorrin talks about his "intervention". I suppose it must speak to his skills that he is still alive since a good many people of this port likely don't "advice" well and would just as soon stick him the gut a dagger to get him to shut up.
Bri will help get the ship to set sail and look about in case her help may be needed to sail it.

baldwin the merciful |

The first mate sits with his back to the mast, "That on'was close." He blinks a few times and the pretty female standing near him tending to his wounds, "Must still be with the gods." He grins sheepishly.
the sail gets set and the coffee percolates.
Meanwhile the captain simply ignores the question on why the ship lists.

baldwin the merciful |

The water has a small chop to it, 1 to 1.5 rolling swells which makes the listing more pronounced.
I need everyone to make sailor or acro check which ever is higher check if you are standing but at a (- 7), if you are sitting I need the check made at (-5). The captain and Jenkie seem quite in tune with the ship's tilt.

Adriel Mistleaf |

Acro: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Adriel is visibly relieved when Thrasher is restored to full health.
The little dino actually flaps up to the top of the mast to shriek loudly and open his wings to the air before returning to Adriels shoulder.
When quizzed about his behavior Adriel explained , HE, says he killed 3. He feels like his dragon blood is showing. Pay no mind. He is bonded to me and it appears he has developed an ego like mine.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astri is sitting making coffee for everyone who wants it.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 - 5 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 5 = 18
Astrianna sways back and forth with the list of the ship like a reed in the waves, filling the cup about 2/3 full. She pulls out her hip flask from her haversack, pouring a splash of rum into the brew. "Got some special coffee for you, Captain... I think you'll like it." The bard makes a cup of coffee with rum in it for herself as well, downing a total of two cups, one with an extra kick.
The bard chuckles at Thrasher. "I want to see him woo some lady dragons, just like his master..."

baldwin the merciful |

The captain accepts the coffee and takes a long pull on it, his eyes twinkle, "Damn fine beans." He glances over at Sorrin. "We've a nice breeze be there a couple hours.
Everyone can make a perception check. It is cloudy and the moon is just is approaching third quarter moon so there is plenty of light for those with low light vision. Anyone without lowlight vision is limited to 20 feet.

Sorrin the Wayward |

Sorrin takes advantage of the eye contact. You got some dead bodies down there? Or does she need work? I'd appreciate the truth. Might have more work, but these are dangerous conditions.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astrianna grins at the Captain, glad he enjoyed the drink.
The half-elf is quite pleased by the ambiance of the trip, and she watches over the starboard side while slowly drinking her coffee. The bard wiggles her fingers and adds a tad bit of cream flavoring to compliment the rum with Prestidigitation.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
As the coffee kicks in the bard starts bouncing her leg and fidgeting, a multitude of music running through her head as she gazes up at the sky, attempting to pick out stars between the clouds. She sings a few soft melodies for the occupants as they travel, intending to blend her voice with the background noises of the water and season.
Perform: Sing: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

baldwin the merciful |

Jenkie steps up near Sorrin and in a low tone states, "His blatcher's rum is ripping 'im apart, ever since the demise of Solomon Trafalgar to the kracken, but that's a touchy subject. He was at the helm of the trident when it sunk and he blames 'imself for the Solomon's death." He glances back at his captain, "damn best helmsman we just need 'nough money to get on a real ship for him to run." He smiles, he doesn't like you much with your advice, "try asking him about course and how to navigate it at night...he'll warm up." Then toss in depth finder, "six fathoms..captain" as the ship stays within sight of the coast.

Sorrin the Wayward |

Sorrin appreciates the confidence and the confidence. Thanks, Jenkie... Sorrin's the name. And, I can put you both "on a real ship" and with him at the helm... How much to fix this thing?
He's as good as you say, I find that damn Kraken myself and kill it. What's a kraken and who is this Solomon? Any relation to Zalen? Gonna need your help if I'm gonna command the most feared fleet The Razor's seen in ages.. He winks, responding in a similar low tone.

Adriel Mistleaf |

Taking a moment once the boat calms, Adriel uses his pearl of power to reprepare his CHILL TOUCH spell.
It's effects are not as pronounced as my Frosted Blade, but it is quite useful. Glad I learnt this one.
He looks out over the water as their craft skimmed by.
It had been a good night so far.

baldwin the merciful |

The breeze blows and the captain answers Sorrin. "The stars the map, see that star," he point upward, "this time of the year it's always south and it acts like a beacon if you're heading southward, like we are."
Just about 2 hours later, "Thumb's Reach is on the other side of that promontory 'bout 30 minutes or so. Now they've a small little cove with a couple docks and small beach."

Sorrin the Wayward |

As the captain explains the geography, Sorrin reaches for the depth finder and moments later... Six fathoms, Captain!
Sorrin busies himself with the line.
Is there any less... obvious approach?

Astrianna Sparacello |

Baldwin said everyone can make perception checks, by the way.
Astrianna only sings for half and hour or so. She fills the rest of the hour with her violin, practicing by playing it slowly. The bard feels out each note as she slides the bow across the strings, getting to know the instrument.
She extracts a perfectly smooth, slow C sharp from the instrument, the sound rippling over the cold, choppy waters. "Mmm... I love this fiddle." It still needs a name... Resonance? Most people aren't familiar with acoustics... Wonder maybe...? The half-elf stares off into space.

baldwin the merciful |

When the violin appears the captain grimaces, "Mame with all due respect that racket will draw every creature within a mile to our position. Sound carries on these waters and the vibration will attract whatever lays beneath." He shakes his head in disbelief.
He turns to the Sorrin, "Yeah, if we round the promontory, there's narrow channel near the rocks, shallow draw but we may be able to make it. We'll blend into the rocks at least part of the way."

Embrianna |

"Light will definitely mark our position. Do we really need it to find the channel? Astri, Adriel, how are your eyes? Mine are fairly decent at night, I may be able to locate it too."
Bri was scan around and try to locate it as well and then will help to guide the ship into it.
Bri does have darkvision.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
sailor: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Sorrin the Wayward |

The Captain is fine... I mean when we land.
Sorrin is starting to realize Em is not human, or maybe has some perception magic in place. He's being polite and not mentioning in front of Cap/Jenkins.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astrianna raises an eyebrow at the Captain. She is well aware of how sound carries over water, and seems slightly offended. "Racket? I'll have you know I'm an excellent player. In any case, I wasn't going to play any music, just tuning it- I'm not stupid. But if you insist, Captain." She passive-aggresively packs the violin away.
She sighs at everyone. "What are you all so afraid of? I've hunted scores of monsters, Adriel has faced down a dragon, Sorrin you didn't even care about jumping in the middle of a group of ghouls, and Embri can set things on fire with her mind. Just relax. We're professionals."
The bard is quite bored for the rest of the trip without anything to do. She cleans her coffee pot and already-clean clothes about seven times.

Astrianna Sparacello |

Astrianna shrugs. "I can simply create some magical lights if you wish, Sorrin. I prefer them- no burns, no soot, no ashy smell in your clothes..."
