Heya Sunny! As for classes. No Alchemist,Summoner or Gunslinger, Nothing from the Advanced Race Guide. Here is a recape of character creation
Currently the party has:
Inquistor
Cleric
Bard
Ranged Ranger
Shield Fighter
The party is looking for a roguish character and/or possibly an arcane spell caster with rogue skills. You would be entering at level 3.
Here are rules for the build:
20 Pt buy
No score below an 8 before racial adjustment.
Download the Free PG
2 traits, (1 must be a campaign trait)
No third party material
No Alchemist, Gunslinger or Summoner or their variants
Core races only, no thiefling characters. No ARG
Minimum 4-6 posting a day.
No evil
Good alignment work well with this group of hereos.
Adult themed, but well within Paizo's PBP standards. When in doubt put it behind a spoiler.
3000 GP (3rd lv) No more than 50% in one item. Run any magic weapon, gear, potions (don't bother spending coin on Cure potions they are plentiful), by me before purchase.
Answer the following:
1. Tell me 3-4 NPC's your character knows in the city, they will become important NPCs. Names, occupations and how you know them. I will incorporate NPC's into the game to help develop your character and the feel of the city.
2. How long have you been in the City.
3. Give a brief background for your character.
I want to make sure it's clear NO Advance Race Guide. The forbidden classes include their vairants/archetypes.
The only real house rule that I have incorporated into this PbP game is 1 on an attack has a chance to either fumble weapon or snap the ranged weapon string. You make a dex based check, add in modifier, and must get a 10 or higher to avoid the fumble.

I definitely want to join, and as far as being active that's perfect for me, i'm on very often. I am thinking of playing a elf wizard who specializes in conjuration. that way he can be the best arcane you can get and can summon things for melee. pretty much a smug true neutral wizard, but he definitely leans more towards good than evil. name will be Tiasar Auvrelth
1: his sister lia lives in the city and owns a small magic shop, and always slightly dissaproves of him not being a little more good. also lia has a half-elf daughter named scarlet (father was killed by bandits) who Tiasar is extremely protective of. she helps lia with the shop. then there's logan, a fighter who bounces disruptive people at the town pub (because there's always a pub). logan saved him on the road from some bandits, and even though logan isn't quite the intellectual that Tiasar is, they get along.
2. I've been in the city for about a week, visiting lia and scarlet. I travel often, looking for arcane lore, also picking up work i can get.
3. Tiasar and Lia were both young and living in the forest when orcs and ogres raided their home, killing most of their friends and family. In a terrible fury they both released their arcane powers, killing some of the raiders, then they fled. They decided to stay in the city instead, more protected by laws, but Tiasar grew restless and decided to travel the world, enhancing his arcane powers and learning what secrets he could.
How's that? This campaign sounds really fun, i'd love to be in it
I'd love to hear the current players thoughts on my character. Also i will be cross classing into many rogue-ish skills. stealth and bluff a definite, and with a high-int i could probably add anything the party needed

@CampinCarl. Conjurer is good, although be careful with over crowding the battle field with critters. :) Skills will be very useful and a little stealth never hurt a person.
Just a heads up for those who have not played in CoT. Nighttime is a bad time to be outside since Westcrown is plagued by 'Shadowbeasts' that roam the streets. The main streets have special big lamps to keep them away but the alleys and side streets are their hunting grounds. This no doubt also includes the sewers so stay inside unless it is an emergency,
@Lucrezia. Nice background. There are a few connections to the group from the Red Light district and bars so that can be a good lead in.
Those interested can also get themselves an apprentice. It is a system in the AP that PCs can get a protegee and help develop NPCs to help our cause.

Oh dont worry, i usually wouldnt cast more than 1 summon per battle. going to be very much battlefield control, and utility caster. very partial to treantmonks guide lol. also i really hope i can play. im going to college so i got cut off from all my local players :( i want to get really involved in online campaigns. any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated

@campincarl
Don't worry about buying healing potions when you buy equipment. Baldwin hands those out like pez candy before a mission
i found out the hard way to label your potions. i was the cleric in a campaign where a very tough fight knocked everyone out except the fighter. he didnt know the difference between clw and alchemists fire...

@Baldwin: Hi! This is Celeador. After doing some thinking I have chosen to start on my first character idea I presented:
Urban Ranger (Freebooter) 3: A disgraced Chelish naval officer on the run, trying to make a new start in Westcrown. He is a man of honor and principles that could not abide abide the corruption within the Chelish Navy.
Before I start stating him out, I wanted to know if you would be ok with the spell-less ranger variant as presented in Kobold quarterly? If your not I can make him up as a Skirmisher, but I like the flavor of the spell-less ranger more. Thanks!
Just to be clear, this is to fill your trapfinder spot
Hit point rolls 2d10 ⇒ (3, 7) = 10

Vonzara wrote:What I'd like to do eventually is take Arcane Archer as a prestige class if that is allowed. So I'm thinking Magus 2/Rouge 1.That'd be a pretty nifty addition to the party, actually. :)
So I went back and tweaked the original idea. I went with sorcerer1/rogue2. I still want to go for Arcane Archer. I felt the animal companion would work better for how I want to play the rogue end of things.

Lucrezia. CHange one of the Grotto worker's name to Tracy and you can get a link to Andrea who has visited now and then in the past. :)
@Everyone. A good way to link to the rest of the group is to check out the campaign tab for a list of NPCs. Choose one who isn't an obvious baddie and think of a way to link with the rest of the players. Of course, new NPCs work just as well.

Andrea1 |

Human or does race matter for Tracy?
Tracy is human, yes. Here is just a little info from Andrea's contact info
Tracy Prostitute that Andrea often solicits when she wants to enjoy herself. Often stops by a well traveled tavern/inn for food, they often chat and eat before heading off for other activities.
Tracy last visited Andrea when Andrea was in an extreme funk and rented a room for a bath at the Grotto. Due to a bet between Urgathoa/Calistria, Tracy was briefly inhabited by Calistria to bring Andrea into Calistria's flock.

Perhaps Fiosa would want to free the little halfling slave from the Grotto?
Maybe Lucrezia buys her weapons at the smithy Duncan works at? Being a half-elf, she finds she gets overcharged at the human owned and run smithys.
All ideas would work. :) Duncan's mentor could pass word to Duncan about a possible recruit. You have some good plot hooks there.

Lucrezia Villanova |

Actually my first though was if it was a position, like a reverse cowgirl but then I couldn't think of any position named mermaid.
I think the owner of the Grotto is trying to poach or buy one or some of the workers from the Reverse Mermaid. He is trying to upgrade his establishment by getting a higher class of prostitute. Perhaps the Reverse Mermaid owners are not happy with his attention and threats if he doesn't get what he wants.

I am familiar with KQ's spell-less ranger. It's pretty sweet, but I thinkBaldwin may have said no 3 rd party

Yea, I went back and looked at it. Stand alone its great. But I lose the feel I was going for (Freebooter / Urban Ranger) if I took the variant. I will probably end up going Skirmisher to provide a lot of static party buffs via Freebooter's Bane, Freebooter's Bond and Aiding Attack. It should have some great synergy with Orsino's Inspire Courage.

Andrea1 |

Just explain that it is all part of your master plan to help free the poor little halfling from her life of slavery. How could she possibly argue with that?
Andrea franticly scratches at the door. Fiosa! I was only kidding! Please open the door, the Shadow Beasts are getting closer!

No 3rd party material for the players. Besides you are going to want to go with spells.
I clicked on the profile and didn't see the stats. Is this one ready to review yet?

I Just checked the synergies.
You can indeed stack Skirmisher, Freebooter and Urban. It has all the feel of a Commanding, StealthyTrickster and quite frankly would be a better Rogue than a Rogue.
You win.
Edit: Baldwin, His paizo archetype could run side by side with Lucrazia. Their builds and combat styles are totally different. Just a thought.
I still like Sunsets magus idea though. Good luck choosing.

baldwin the merciful |

This is who I have so far, if I missed someone politely mention it on this thread, it was unintentional:
Tweaker - Rogue -
Lucrezia Villanova - Urban Ranger
Anreas Saied de vyre, Chevalier - Urban Ranger (I didn't see the stats in the profile)
Sunny - Magus
Tiasar- wizard
Vonzara -sor/rog working towards Arcane Archer.
Stat out your characters and your gear.
Its not too late to submit a character. I'll be closing this Sunday.
Edit:
Tevyn de Fonseca - Wind Elemental Sorceror1/Bard(Drummer)2
