This is Council of Thieves AP. Westcrown, City of Twilight, once was the center of Aroden's faith, but now it symbolizes despair. By day, the city remains a vibrant center of trade; but, by night only those with a death wish venture out.

Duncan views the things in the shop with a discerning eye. Though distrustful of wizards. ..especially Westcrani wizards, he was still a craftsmen and could appreciate the work that went into making this stuff. Too bad those most deserving of such power rarely got it.

The quirky shop keeper adjusts his red hat, "Oh my yes, I've got oil of bless weapon but he frowns regarding the chewing root. That's a not something typically asked for." He puts his hand to his chin. "I have to look around the shop...had some once, not sure if its still here or not."

"Ghost salts are illegal contraband bloody Thrune," he spits some of his soup in his bowl, 'Why damage one their pets." He shakes his head.

He climbs a ladder up to the very top of the store and opens a small drawer, 'Goodie" he giggles, "I've got just a little bit of the chew." He climbs back down his ladder holding a small bag, "Only enough for two chews."

Oil of bless weapon 50GP each.
Chew - 4 GP for the 2 chews (it's pretty rare for him)

"I never doubted you, you've got talent if you remain focused." Of course he reminds you about being focused.

Andrea looks through the various cloaks of the appropriate enchantment, her fingers and eyes checking the designs and trying them on before settleing on one that more closely matched the color she wanted.

This will do perfectly, I must inquire sometime about having asome clothes custom made for enchantment, perhaps something from Lady Elmira Pennington's shop.

Andrea counts out Talbard's payment and then waits for the others to finish shopping before heading out.

That is followed by a bit of light applause.

A somber mood smothers the applause.

"Careful out there, wizards are know to make nasty deals to pursue their ends."

"Orsin, may I have a few words with you in private?" Ailyn has an interesting gleam in her eyes. "I've something you might be interested in."

Duncan, Andrea, Faelyn and Faleyn can make a perception check as they head towards the safehouse.

"Things seem eerily quiet around town, to much so for my liking."

Truk before getting going to the safehouse you can stop by the pawn shop and the money monger.

The pawnshop is busy when you arrive, there is abit of buzz in the store. The dwarf smiles, "Back so soon, didn't tel'me yer a cage figt'r." He nods approvingly as he fetches the shield, "Left yer shield behind ain't too smart." He pauses, 'lost a sum on dat fight." There are couple others in the shop moaning as they hear who you are.

One grizzly man comments, "Lost 113 silver on ye." he has a nasty scowl on his face.

Truk inspects the shield briefly before nodding and handing over a pouch with the owed gold (including the shop's interest). "Thanks."

"You should make safer bets", Truk says with a snort towards the scowling man. "We're not going to have a problem are we? I'd hate to leave man that just lost a pile of silver with a broken jaw too."

Truk's expression softens a bit as he begins to understand a bit better.

"I appreciate the warning but I can take care of myself", the big orc says with a quick pounding of his chest.

"Besides, I'm not alone. I'm with a few of the others that fought in the Devildrome last night. If some sore losers aren't sore enough already, we'll send them on their way with something to really cry about."

Andrea passes out the winnings to the various betters, with a hefty bag to Janivan and Ailyn. Hopefully this will help with your goals.

As for Thrax, I wouldn't put it past him to try something, so maybe we need to strike at him first. Andrea shrugs. I am hoping we can have some down time for rest and preparing for our next step, we have located the general area the Sisters of Eiseth live in. So we will need to seek out their building, it will be another fight since from what we have been told, they are frothing lunatics who will all fight to the death.

You eventually make it to the safehouse. The others are there.

Gruums is a bit further north from where the grotto, safehosue , gerald and the pan shop are located. You will go by it on the way to the northern section to find the sister's of eiseth.

"So it sounds like he has been there a short time...at least. he gave you money yesterday for the contest and he's gone by this morning." trying to put a positive spin on the explanation.

Duncan felt sick, Never shoulda left the basement....We got the girl to safety but Alphonse is gonna figure it mighta been an inside job. We can try talk find him and bust him out but, sh!t is gonna kick up to a whole new level. Are we ready to go to war with the hell Knights? Or..... It seems that Alphonse is connected in some way to The Council of Thieves. Gerald and Lady Grulios confirmed their existence as some kind of thieve's guild or politicians who have considerable influence. Just how much they value Alphonse is unknown, the Leeanna girl seemed important enough to get them involved, perhaps as a political prisoner for ransom.

Perhaps we can bribe him out. Bribery seems to be a way of life in Westcrown. The question is just who dow e bribe and how much?

Areal looks at the group, "Nobody is suggesting to let him be tortured; however, to move on the headquarters is an act of treason we condemn each and everyone involved to death, their friends, associates and acquaintances." He looks around,

"Duncan you ready for Gruum, Brian and his wife and child, along with the orphans in the shop to perish? If you get causght or one of you to be seen?'

"John surely this is something you'd think twice about?"

"Andrea the danger means Fiosa, your church and friends will likely be hunted."

He grimly goes on,

"Faelyn you many be new to the group the but the danger will extend to everyone you know."

His gaze meets Orsin, "Disaster will happen to your young friend, Shu Lien."

His eyes searching reaching your souls, "Rash decisions have consequences. This is not a bunch of Armingers transporting me to their citadel out fo the city, where the dottari have no reach. This will bring the dottari down on everyone."

Janiven looks up and responds, "The best course right now is to push on and find answers to defeating the shadwobeast. With light comes truth. Get the people behind you."

"If Alphonse is working with the Council of Thieves, that is a huge concern. With a bit o'luck we may be able to really rid the city of corruption soon."

Which is PRECISELY why we should take out Alphonse. How could a slave have anything to, do with an assault on Alphonse if he was under hellknight arrest when it took place. We could leave a drow murder weapon at the scene for example? Someone faceless but obviously not Orn?

No. I am not suggesting we raid the Hellknights, but find a way to convince them that all this fuss over one escaped ransom victim and one disobedient slave is just something that a bag of gold can solve. Bruised egos fade with time and a few strong drinks and avoided paperwork.

Andrea sighs. Perhaps Alphonse is bait. Take the bait and cut Alphonse's neck and the place will be swarming with Hellknights, he is under watch for just the rescuing of Leeanna.

"Those dark tactics are questionable." He looks from Duncan to John, "Slavery, although despicable is legal in this country and blatant assassination is unworthy of us. We would be replacing one terror in the city with another type of horror."

He nods approvingly to Andrea, "Very perceptive."

"Orn has never been here and doesn't know much does he?" He's a slave he's probably been beaten before and take some punishment.

Who says the attack needs to succeed? We just need to show whomever is after Alphonse ain't Orn. An we don't need to commit ourselves. A bunch a summoned monsters, something that can burrow to throw the scent off Orn then?

What's dark about serving justice on who deserves it? Alphonse is a child molester and a slaver? Ye got leprosy? Ye cut it off. We'd be doing the city a favor an moving suspicion off an innocent Orn. Yer actually guilty o breaking the law every damn day when we pray to Imodae. Her worship ain't legal here, but ye do it cause ye know it's right fer ye. Don't be so afraid te get yer hands dirty cause it ain't yer head on the block this time. He deserves a rescue as much as ye did. Maybe more, HE ain't broke no law.

The pathfinder says as she and Orsin emerge from a side room. "Her father is Lord Byron Gudsmith of Andoran. Put nothing past Thrune and its need for dark, vile corruption."

Arael's a coward. He's no better than the Hellknights.

Duncan's outburst seems to calm the orc a measure.

"Perhaps we should trade you for my brother? I'm sure the Hellknights would be chomping at the bit for a chance to recapture the one that got away", he says in a half-joking manner.
