Kaygan Veer |

Seeing Ghroth flinging demonic flies against the walls and dodging attacks from something large nearby, Kaygan is hesitant to move any further up the stairs, and no enemies remain within his line of sight from here.
“Do you know what’s left up there?” he asks Hannik, stepping back down the stair towards the young woman, thinking that her link with her eidolon may give her an insight.
Move back to AL 7 / M 7 – ready an action to fire wand if an enemy moves into line of sight.

Wendaug waits for an opportunity, then launches an arrow between Mulluq and Ghroth at the Schir.
mwk longbow v schir, point blank, precise shot, bless: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 1 + 1 = 26 ... damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Stay in place.
Rhok climbs the stairs past Kaygan. Move to AM 7.
The move is clear. Not sure what he's got left for spells. So let's say he readies a spear attack if an enemy hoves into sight. If I get a chance to review the posts, or if Vatnisse chimes in maybe we could change that standard action later?

![]() |

For his standard action
Rhok sways on the stairs. Again he goes rigid. His head jerks backward, not like he threw it back, but like it was yanked back by an invisible force. Spittle flies from his lips as he cries, "The end comes!"
Cast Divine favor.
After reviewing the posts since we left the Defender's Heart inn, I think Rhok's only down the bless spell I cast for him last round. With casting divine favor, he has 5 spells left today. Incidentally, my favorite post for someone playing Rhok other than Vatnisse was ithuriel's intimidation manuever with poetry and body spasms.

Wendaug inflicts a flesh wound on the schir as Rhok clambers frothing up the stairs.
The schir spots that Kira is looking injured and swings at her with its halberd.
Schir attacks Kira. If the halberd drops her, it will gore Mulluq.

Hannik, Booam, Mulluq.

Jod Eastwind |

I expect this will not impact Hannik's action - if so, Booam will do something different.
Booam steps into range of the cornered cultist with a brutal overhead chop.

"Booam, the glaives. Get the glaves," Sol calls.
On his next turn, Sol can step another 5' east and a real fighter with a pole arm can step in.

Kira Valerious |

Kira judges the Schir to be the bigger threat, and strikes out at it. Calling on Iomadae's aid.
"Down, foul beast, in the name of justice!"

Not sure if I should have any other modiifiers on that hit roll... it's a bit pants!

Jod Eastwind |

With some frustration, Jod realizes when he turns around that there's no place for him to stand in the scrum. He steps over to the doorway where they dropped the cultist to see if there are any more threats lying in wait.
Start a move action to AP/8 - if warranted, he will continue into the room and has a standard action left if there's reason to use it.

Peering into the room, Jod can see a large table covered with papers and maps. However, he sees no immediate threats.
Nothing much more he can do right now given the scrum in the corridor.
The peryton lunges at Kira again.

If Kaygan's action doesn't prevent these... Rhok can try to heal, of course, if anyone needs it - I didn't look very hard.
Rhok, newly bolstered by his casting of divine favor, reaches around with his cold iron short spear and jabs at the schir demon.

Kira is fairly wasted for hp. Kaygan can delay.
Wendaug's arrow flies true. It is clearly weak now, but pushed on by sheer malice and evil. It spends what little vitality it has attacking Mulluq.

Hannik, Booam, Mulluq.

Jod Eastwind |

If we want to retcon, we can have Rhok channel energy to heal, but I'm not sure he can do so selectively or how many channels he has available. I think it would be better for Kira to withdraw and let Jod stop into her spot - if I'd been thinking, I would have suggested that he delay to do just that on her turn.

Jod Eastwind |

On his turn, Booam will ready an action to steal Jod's idea - if anyone from the party withdraws from melee, the mongrelman will move into their space to prevent the demons from advancing.

Mulluq'Tar Sheptat |

Mulluq tires of the goat-headed schir, but his focus must always be placing the lives of others before his own, and Kira was looking rough. He needed them to leave her alone, and he needed help on the front. His meager healing would not be enough to help her. Taking a deep, barking breath, he huffs with a snort. Before moving purposefully forward in the line, shield held protectively before him.

Move, to AL8, provoking from both the schir and peryton.
As he pushes his way forward past the two big nasty creatures, he says, "Lady Valerious, I will draw their ire that you may leave while they are distracted." trying to urge her to take the chance to step back from the melee.

Kira Valerious |

"No chance. I can heal once these foul beasts are dead."
Kira is on 1/3 of her total HP, but poor rolls aside, she's also best placed to take these things out with this beast of a sword....If someone could poke her with a wand, she'd appreciate it, but otherwise, she will risk it.

Mulluq'Tar Sheptat |

He can't help but admire both her conviction and tenacity, even if her refusal vexes him, "Lady, a single step back will put you in healing's range." he pleads.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Ooooh, a bit of D&D chess....
AoOs against Mulluq
Schir 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 to hit, damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Peryton 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 to hit, damage 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
That will presumably trigger Booam's readied action now there is a gap.
Booam 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27 to hit, damage 1d12 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 3 = 14
Mulluq moves between the demon and the peryton, distracting them as he fends off their attacks. Booam moves up and his axe swings, catching the schir in the back of the neck and slicing through its spine. The demon falls to the floor.
Schir down. Still waiting for Hannik.

Hannik |

Hannik silently cheers when the demon falls, but she is too busy reloading her crossbow to focus on much else. Finally she lines up a shot, but there is far too much chaos in the hallway to connect.

Kira, you're next on my list for wand poking, especially if Ghroth steps forward.

Kira Valerious |

Kira curses under her breath, though wether at mulluqs words, his foolish actions that get him hurt, or at someone else taking out the demon is anyone’s guess.... She grits her teeth and moves to strike the peryton.

Toss at AJ9, pointblank, precise shot: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16 I think I get -2 for range? Double check that.
Tanglefoot Bag: A tanglefoot bag is a small sack filled with tar, resin, and other sticky substances. When you throw a tanglefoot bag at a creature (as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet), the bag comes apart and goo bursts out, entangling the target and then becoming tough and resilient upon exposure to air. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move. Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed. Huge or larger creatures are unaffected by a tanglefoot bag. A flying creature is not stuck to the floor, but it must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be unable to fly (assuming it uses its wings to fly) and fall to the ground. A tanglefoot bag does not function underwater.
