Healing, coming up!
Once Dravite and Hudak stop thrashing about, Alwyn digs out his healing wand. He also casts a couple of healing spells.
Hudak gets tapped with the wand and recovers 13 hit points. Dravite also gets tapped with the wand (restoring 12 hit points) and is also on the receiving end of a CLW (I burn Command) and recovers 10 more hp.
"What we want is down there - and we can't burn that." He looks over his fellow adventurers. "Ready? Let's find Aldern and his cursed acestors and put them all to the sword."

The party heads down the stairs. You will need light sources.
The stairs end in a limestone cavern. The walls drip with moisture, and swaths of black and dark blue mold grow in spiraling, tangled patterns on the floor, ceiling, and walls. Bits of rubble and broken bones clutter the floor, and a rhythmic sound—as of the breathing of some immense creature—echoes through the cave from three tunnels, one to the north and two to the west. Of the two western tunnels, the southernmost one seems to be a relatively new creation.

“There are some runes here,” says Elisile, running her hand over the wall, “carved into the stone. I do not recognize their meaning.”

"Huh. I missed those." Alwyn squints at the obscure text. "These runes are ancient, far older than this house. Seems like the the Foxgloves picked an uniquely terrible place to build their manor - these runes are associated with Urgathoa, the deity of undeath. The malign properties of this place might have driven the elder Foxglove to seek out lichdom."
His face splits in a sardonic smile. "Oh, and keep your eyes open for undead things. If course, we already knew that."

This long cave stinks of rotten meat. The source of the horrific smell is readily apparent in the swath of carcasses strewn about the floor of this place. Most seem to be of small animals and fish, but at least three humanoid bodies and one partially eaten horse lie in the mess as well. At the far end, there is a pool and a shaft leading up, wan sunlight shining through.

1d20 7=22 Spot. Aye, I sees 'em lassie! Dravite steps in front of Elisile, protectively.
Initiative-1d20 7=16.
Dravite is planning on attacking by stepping forward, dropping his hook and drawing his bow to shoot if they don't swoop down.

Dravite 16+
Vethran 16
Hudak 14 (surprised)
Alwyn 12
Elisile 10
Larken 7
Illes 5 (surprised)
It is a fairly simple cave, more a wide tunnel 15' by 30', with a ceiling sloping up and 20' at its top (where the bats are roosting). So its A-I across the top, 1-3 down the side. A-G/1-3 is the room, with a corridor at H-I/2. The pool is at A-C/1-3 - the floor essentially slopes down into it, and it has no particular impact on movement (it's fairly shallow). The hole in the roof is at A2, and the bats are roosting at A1 and A3. Place yourselves, please, lady and gentlemen (and Hudak) and let the bat-bashing commence!
The bats flex their wings, preparing to swoop.

The bats haven't acted yet. Waiting for Illes position (and Larken's, if someone wants to do the honours) and then we are good to go.
Larken is WAY out in front.....we like to call it the "Bat-bait" position....just joking. I would think he would be near Hudak but not right up front, maybe close behind and to the side? E1 or E2? looking for traps and such or other hazards."

Dravite sees the big shoanti freeze up and strides forward angrily (D1) to attack one of the large bat-like creatures with his heavy hook of bat-death. 1d20 8=20 to hit, 1d12 5=15 damage. Add 2 damage to that if they are large-sized creatures, I am unsure by the description if they are just big or if they are rule-wise big. I'm a Big Game Hunter.

Fatespinner's sick, so I'll run Vethran this encounter.
Vethran waves his hands, and a ball of fire engulfs a bat.
No move. Using Fiery Burst in the C1 bat, which takes 9 pints of fire damage (Reflex 15 for half damage).
Alwyn throws himself at the other bat.
Charge to D3, attacking the C3 bat. Attack roll 13+2(charge)+7-3(power attack)=AC 19, damage 9+4+6(PA)=19. My AC's now 15.
Elisile's up.

The bat the Larken attacked circles and slashes at him with a claw. 6 points of damage, and a DC 13 save to avoid paralysis. The other attacks Dravite, its needle-like teeth sinking ito his shoulder as it folds its wings about him. 5 points of damage, and the DC 13 save v paralysis.
For avoidance of doubt, these guys as Medium. Also, you get a saving throw on your inititative each round to recover from the paralysis (a bit like Hold Person) so you don't end up out of the fight due to one unlucky roll (like Hudak's). That re-roll doesn't count for the round in which you get stiffed (to paraphrase Heathy) so you will always lose at least one action.
