You're completely right - only one ray until level 7.

Elisile Starbrow |

Your reading of the spell is correct. I’m not familiar with all Vethran’s feats and class features, so I can’t say whether or not that +2 to CL is correct. Maybe he gets a higher CL when using evocations with the fire descriptor? I don’t really know what Focused Specialist, Energy Affinity and a couple of his feats give him.

Wow! A planar visitor!

Elisile Starbrow |

Since Fate is likely to be busy for a little while, can I suggest that we assume for now one ray fired at Ripnugget?
If Fate later posts and confirms that two rays are ok, the second ray can be fired at gruesome as he originally suggested (whose init is much later in the sequence, so it shouldn’t require a significant retcon as long as Fate confirms before then). Despite the pillar at J9, Gruesome should still be a valid target, although she would get a +4 AC bonus from cover from the pillar (unless the pillar is actually greater than 5 foot in diameter and literally occupies the entire square). The cover bonus may make the second ray a miss anyway.

Vethran Tallomane |

My sincerest apologies. I thought that scorching ray was one ray per 3 levels, meaning I would get a second ray at CL 6th. Double checking it now, I see I was incorrect. I will not get a second ray until CL 7th. For the record, though, I am casting them at CL 6th now. I am 3rd level, Varisian Tattoo increases my CL for ALL Evocations by 1, and Energy Affinity and Fiery Burst combine for +2 CL to all Fire spells. Therefore, scorching ray (which is both an Evocation AND a Fire spell) is at +3 CL or CL 6th in my case. I apologize for my error. Yes, I will fire my one ray at Ripnugget. Next level, however, I will have the second ray. :D

Ooops. Didn't mean to kill the ambience or anything... Stupid multiple personalities.

Initiative reprised:
Vethran: 20
Squat: 19
Manic: 18++
Ripnugget: 18+
Davos:18-
Larken: 17
Elisile: 15
L'oj: 12
Dravite: 10
Alwyn: 10
Illes: 9+
Ripnugget's dog: 9-
Hudak: 8
Goblin mooks: 8
Gruesome: 7
Weasly: 4
Vethran's ray hits Ripnugget in the chest, leaving his armour scorched and eliciting a howl of pain. His clerical underling casts a spell, and Vethran feels his muscles freezing. DC 14 Will save, or be Held. Squat stays where he is for now.
His froth-mouthed sidekick storms over to where Larken and Elisile are fighting, and he hits Larken with his axe. The blow is astoundingly hard. 12 points of damage. Manic moves to L11.
Ripnugget moves to engage Hudak and Alwyn. The giant sword in his hands would look absurd except for the clear assurance with which he wields it and the grim purpose in his eyes. He pulls out a throwing axe as he goes, and hurls it at Alwyn as he gets close. Alwyn feels the breeze of it as he just manages to duck in time. Ripnugget moves to J10, throws and misses.
Davos.

Davos Quaith |

Davos appraises the newcomers to the battle and gives a quick nod in their direction, then he slides between the goblin and the dog-thing. Thrusting his hands forward, he channels the power of his goddess into a burst of fire.
5-foot-step to G10 and casts burning hands defensively.
Concentration check (1d20+7=25)
Burning Hands damage (3d4=8)
It should hit the dog, Ripnugget, and the mook at I11. It would also set the pillar at J9 on fire. DC 14 Reflex save for half.
Next round I will dole out some healing. Let me know who needs it most.

Hudak |

Ripnugget moves to engage Hudak and Alwyn. The giant sword in his hands would look absurd except for the clear assurance with which he wields it and the grim purpose in his eyes. He pulls out a throwing axe as he goes, and hurls it at Alwyn as he gets close. Alwyn feels the breeze of it as he just manages to duck in time. Ripnugget moves to J10, throws and misses.
Hudak points at Ripnugget and laughs long and mirthful.
"You throw like a little kobold!!!"

Davos appraises the newcomers to the battle and gives a quick nod in their direction, then he slides between the goblin and the dog-thing. Thrusting his hands forward, he channels the power of his goddess into a burst of fire.
The goblin drops to the ground, its clothes blazing. The dog, however, avoids most of the worst of the gouting flame.
Now Larken.

Larken |

Okay... I think I have my map correct, but just to be sure, could someone check me?
I have:
Squat at H7
Horsechopper mooks at E8, H8, J7, E11, and L10
Goblin Bard at K7
Ripnugget at J10
Goblin Dog at I10
Manic at L11
Davos at G10
Illes at G13
Alwyn at I12
Elisile at M11
Larken at L12
L'oj and Dravite are still outside
Weasel goblin is invisible
I think there's still at least one dogslicer mook still standing, but I'm unclear as to where he's standing (somewhere around H-J11, I think)
Anyway... I'll run my turn as if this is correct. I don't think it'll matter in the long run.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Per my map, I have:
Squat at H7
Horsechopper mooks at E8, H8, J7, and L10. I presume E11 died or moved.
Dogslicer mook at I11.
Goblin Bard at K7
Ripnugget at J10
Goblin Dog at H10, not I10
Manic at L11
Davos at G10
Illes at G13 (on the roof). Vethran hasn't specified, but he is next to Illes up there somewhere.
Hudak at I12
Alwyn is a J12
Elisile at M11
Larken at L12
L'oj and Dravite are still outside
Weasel goblin is invisible

Larken |

Larken gasps as the goblin's axe bites through his armor and deep into his side. As the weapon pulls free, pink bubbles form at the wound, eerily growing and popping in time to the boy's labored breathing.
A quick glance tells him that Elisile will be in truly dire straits if he disengages, so he drops into a more defensive stance and tries to keep the rabid creature's attention on himself. To help the creature in that, Larken actually works up an attack as well.
"Alwyn," he gasps, his free hand clasped over the gaping wound in his side, "We need some help over here. Elisile is pinned."
Fighting defensively (ac increases to 18)
Attack: 16r +7 +1(bardic) -4(defensive) = 20
Damage:5r +2 +1(bardic) = 8
FYI: down to 2 hp

Elisile Starbrow |

For what its worth, my map matches Aubreys ... except I have an additional horse chopper too, but not in the position Larken's got him (G11 for me) ... lets just call him dead.

Elisile Starbrow |

Elisile attempts with limited success to stifle a scream through tightly clenched teeth as the goblin’s horse-chopper slashes through two layers of abjurations and into her unarmoured midriff. Her bow drops from her fingers, as one hand gropes for her abdomen, trying to help her damaged stomach muscles keep her guts within, whilst the other instinctively goes for her rapier.
Through the red haze she dimly notices Larken take a devastating hit from the manic looking bodyguard, but the boy fights desperately on, his eyes locking with the elf’s for a moment, as if affirming that he’s not leaving.
As Larken yells for Alwyn, Elisile stabs desperately at the manic goblin who just chopped at the young rogue. “Larken, withdraw,” she hisses in Varisian. Then, in common to the manic goblin: “Over here. Think you can kill an elf?” trying to keep the pain out of her voice as she stabs her rapier into his flank.
Attack Manic: 17+5+1 (bardic) = 23
Damage: 4+1 +1(bardic) = 6

Dravite Schorl |

Dravite screams, "Larken, Elisile!! No!!" and moves forward, whipping out his hook as he moves toward the Manic goblin with murderous intent. His vicious hook whistles through the air toward his crazed foe.
1d20 8=15 to hit, 1d12 4=12 damage.
Dravite moves to K12, drawing his weapon as he goes and attacks the Manic guy in L11. If for some reason the manic one is killed, adjust my action to move 5' further and attack the dude in L10. I am gonna crash for the night so I posted before Lo'j, hope noone minds.

Alwyn Agnarrson |

Here's my action before I turn in. If Lo'j moves to K11, I move to J11 and attack Ripnugget with the same dice rolls instead.
The screams from his right snaps Alwyn out of his rage. With newfound clarity of purpose, he throws himself at the raging goblin.
5' step to K11, attacking Manic. Attack roll 14+5+1(bard)+2(flank)-2(power attack)=AC 20, damage 11+3+1(bard)+3(power attack)+3(Lo'j's Master of tactics aura)=21 points of damage.
The otherworldly blade follows the goblin bard as she scuttles for safety before striking her with shocking speed and accuracy.
Round 2 of 3 for the Spiritual weapon. Attack roll 19+4=AC 23, crit confirm 13+4=17. Damage 5+1x2=12.

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

Lo'j (finally) marches into the hut. "Form up, men! Skirmish line! One, two! One two!" He sweeps in, taking in the situation at a glance. "Right, pincer movement - jump to it!" He and Gurney manoeuvre round the melee to attack the goblin dog currently molesting Davos.
Lo'j moves to H11, Gurney to G11, and attack Ripnugget's dog. Gurney misses, Lo'j hits for 5 points of damage.

Alwyn delivers a massive blow to the side of the frothing goblin's head, strong enough to kill an ox. Blood, teeth, an ear and bits of scalp and tongue spray across the hut floor. But the goblin grins through a mask of his own gore, flaps of detached skin hanging horribly from its face, and turns to face the Shoanti cleric.
Meanwhile, the shimmering greatsword bonks the skanky goblin bard on the head, and she flops down, her skull fractured.
As a point to note, Spiritual Weapon crits like a spell (i.e. on a 20) not like the weapon it resembles. But it is still enough to take down our singing friend.
Illes.

Illes Elandru |

From the hole Illes surveys the flow of the fight looking for a target, but instead he sees Larken terribly injured, but cornered and still fighting. "Fry em Veth! I'm going in." He jumps through the hole, draws his wand and hustles over to the younger Varisian. "Over here Larken!" he gestures waving the boy over.
MA: Jump down to G13, Move to J13
Tumble vs DC 15 to land softly: 9+6 = 15
MA: Draw wand clw
I left a 5' gap so Larken could step out of threatened squares by stepping to meet me.
Bardic Music 3/5 rounds

Aubrey the Demented/Malformed |

The goblin footsoldiers move up to defend their leaders. One hits Gurney a glancing blow - 1 point of damage - and another hits Alwyn only slightly harder - 2 points of damage. The mook in E8 moves to F10, H8 to I10 and J7 to K10. However, Davos gets an AoO on the one moving to I10 - if he kills him it will have no difference on the damage outcome above.
The priest of Norgorber steps behind Ripnugget and casts a spell on the goblin warlord. Meanwhile, the weasly-looking goblin is still nowhere to be seen.
Squat moves to J9. Spellcraft, DC 16:
Listen check, DC 26:
Back to the top, and Vethran.

The SRD sez: "The weapon takes the shape of a weapon favored by your deity or a weapon with some spiritual significance or symbolism to you and has the same threat range and critical multipliers as a real weapon of its form" - which is why a spiritual sword is so great. Not that it made a difference here.
Squat moves to J9.
That's the pillar. Did you mean I9?

Alwyn Agnarrson |

I agree about the penalise/advantage point. If you want to rule that Spiritual weapon only crits on a 20, that's fine - also, I'll be casting it a lot, so it's good to know. SRD link is here.
