I remember in Attack of the Clones
(attack of the clones spoiler)
I had gone to great lengths to spoil protect myself for a year almost; I wanted one pure Star Wars experience.
I coulda killted that guy.

Guys - you are scaring me with the twins thing.
Yes, those thread titles are annoying, in my opinion. But some people don't get it that others are still playing through the adventures on these boards, or elsewhere. Still, on balance it is probably better to have these issues debated robustly, but it does impact on the surprise aspect. Maybe I'll post something....

I'm not sure what could be done, without having really obscurely titled threads ... which doesn't really help the people who want the discussion. I mean even a fairly innocent thread title like one I can see now; "Tsuto's Letter Handout", I'm thinking, ok, we'll find a letter that this guy's written. If we didn't yet know he was an important character, we would now.
Actually, thinking about it, the letter might just be the one he sent his sister, so that's probably a bad example...
Anyway, I think we can all seperate player knowledge from character knowledge, and just seeing the thread titles might give hints and ideas, but usually doesn't give away all the details.

Yeah, and of course, as I have started my tabletop RotRL game now and we are quickly catching up to our current point in the PbP, I have no delusions that spoilers will be happening (and have happened) for me. However, as Mothman said, I feel I am more than capable of separating player knowledge from character knowledge.

So I’m thinking …. Maybe Hudak has this curse that he can see the future – but it’s always the worse possible future, images of his own death, and the destruction of things he holds dear. Mal could use it as a bit of a foreshadowing device from time to time.
Oh, and Illes, don’t take Alwyn’s advice and get a banjo. I hear Hudak’s against them…

Mothman wrote:....stupid wizard level.... .... darn mage armour doesn't protect me.... ....stupid evocation forbidden school....It's quite alright. I've got more than enough Evocation for the both of us! :D
Indeed you do! A big factor in me dropping it from my list, I would only feel inadequate. :)

I don't know if this really needs spoiler text, but...

Did I get critted, or are these guys just strong? Either way, I'm getting more respect for these goblins. Not to mention what *might* have happened to Hudak!

Cleave is useful - it simply means that if you down a foe, you get another attack. VERY useful to a low level character with otherwise only one attack per round. Of less use is Great Cleave, where you need a load of low level mooks you can kill with a single blow to make it worthwhile to take a feat - much less likely.

![]() |

True. Unless you are a cloud giant with a spiked chain. Then Great Cleave is always useful.
DM: Okay, that movement provokes an AoO.
Player: From 50' away?!?
DM: *grins evilly* Yup... oh, look! A crit!
Player: *sets character sheet on fire*
DM: ...and cleaves through to... the wizard! Ooooohhhh...
Wiz Player: *leaves the room, crying*
DM: Aaaaand the cleric....
Clr Player: You just had to provoke the AoO, didn't you? Jackass...
etc. etc. etc. etc.

I'm always a little unsure about how "good" Cleave really is - it seems a little useless once the opposition toughens up a bit. But how nice wouldn't Great Cleave have been in this fight?
And, Heathy, are you being "promoted" to one of those jobs that lack computer access?
Naah...same bat job...
It used to be cool, now it's not; we have more contact with another department, and they've complained that somebody (not me, I'm slick)is on the 'net all the time, so everybody in my department now has to quit the net. I'm too slick for casual observers; I'd have to be keystroked, and that ain't gonna happen.
My immediate boss is cool as hell, he is the kind of guy that couldn't give a crap as long as the work is getting done.
The overboss, however,....it can't get to the overboss, so no more net.

I think the utility of Great Cleave is much lower than Cleave. Especially as you are not using a 2H monster weapon of much damage dealing. If you were using something like that uber-mace from Complete Warrior, then yeah, I can see it working.

damn. I feel like Fafhrd in the Issek and the Jug story. Too bad my wis is so low; this'd be a perfect excuse to take a level of cleric or druid or something, and start a cargo cult based around getting oracular visions from hagfish water.
Y'know, that would have been the funniest thing ever. Also, I love that story.

I love the line at the beginning of the books that those two are "the greatest swordsmen of any reality" or something.
I was like "wtf" the first time I read it, until I read the stories...

I'm thinking, I'll look over the feats that do something about negating aoo's when I charge into the fray...
Well, that's Dodge/Mobility/Spring Attack - ideal for the mobile, lightly armoured warrior. With the Power Attack feat tree too, you would dance like a butterfly and sting like a bee - or something.

I hate suggesting this but I think that we need to split the party a bit. My thoughts are that Dravite, Elisile and a couple others should follow the gobbos while Hudak moves the Half-elf to the downstairs intersection and ensure that he don't escape while keeping an eye out in both the direction that the rest of us went and the unexplored storage area. Someone with good social skills (maybe Larken)should also head out to assess the crowd's/watch's position, to meet back up with Hudak afterwards. BTW, I thought we were the watch for now anyway.
Who would the crowd call if not us?
I would've posted on the game thread as Dravite but writing this in his dialect would've hurt my head too much.

Heathy/Hudak suggested seeing if the Watch have shown up given the commotion outside. You aren't the whole Watch - there are a few of dubious quality (old, young or simple) that Sheriff Hemlock didn't take with him to Magnimar. After all, someone needs to man the town jail, for example, and you guys aren't doing that. Your role is more to provide muscle in the event of another goblin attack, not to keep the peace as such.

![]() |

Yeah, the folk outside might be getting restless with sounds of combat coming from the building, the last thing we want is for someone to wander in and see dead goblins and dismembered townfolk. Having a few of the local watchmen on hand to keep order might be a good idea.
I suggest that the ‘scouts’ don’t go too far on their own, and I think Larken might be better served with the scouts rather than acting crowd control. After all, he’s probably the stealthiest amongst us, can handle himself ok in a fight, and is the only one who can deal (quietly) with traps and locked doors. It looks like we’re coming into some sort of ‘dungeon’ environment here – we want our rogue near the front!

![]() |

Not at all. I liked the commander bit. Meta-game wise it would have made sense for me to go out and talk to the crowd, but Illes is too eager to rush to the rescue and was already in the basement. Coming back upstairs and chatting up the guard was the opposite of where he wanted to be right then. Thanks for handling that Stunts.
And it made the most sense to turn him over to the guard, but what do you guys reckon the odds are that Tsutsu is long gone by the time we get back? Like leaving your kid brother to keep an eye on an escaped convict...

Sorry, guys. I can't post at work, and my modem won't connect at home.
I'll call service tonight; sally forth without me and all.
I don't know what to say; don't want to quit but I'll see if I can get my modem or whatever the hell operating at home.
