"Thanks, and I will let you know. Name's Arlo, and the heller Astrexian slang for tieflings carrying the stuff in is my girl Meribeth, Meri for short. You just let us know when your gear goes awry and we'll fix it up right."

"Ah, you're a good one. Jaynus, good meeting you both. I'll be sure to do that," the orc replies as he moves to lean against a display case, only to have second thoughts when it creaks. He settles for resting his back against a support beam and waiting it out with an idle smile. His lance is fixed and for free! This was turning out to be a good day.

puts the item down, and looks over more junk.

The 3 cloaked figures walk up to the desk and exchange a few words with Arlo. Arlo points to the door with a strange look on his face and the 3 take their leave.

Suddenly, you hear explosions, laser fire, and screams of terror from outside minutes later. A robotic voice issues a statement, "Hostiles detected. Citizens threatened. Switching to combat mode." The sound of chain guns unloading bullets is then heard and screams of pain and arc rifle fire being added to the chaos pierce the air.

Blink, who was about ready to open her mouth and ruin Neyra's diplomatic approach to borrowing the hoverbike, was abruptly interupted by the unmistakable sound of explosives ringing through the streets outside. She gave a jump at the sudden boom followed by the sounds of gunfire and terror. Rather than hit the floor like a sane person, she ran towards the door and thrust it open to get a look outside.

Neyra excitedly approaches the door with Blink and peers outside herself to see what the commotion is all about, the explosions and weaponsfire not phasing her in the least. Along the way she pulls her musket from its holster and readies it in her hands.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Jaymus goes through a transformation from a friendly, jovial orc to a grim soldier ready to go to battle. A scowl creases his features and he points across the shop to Arlo. "Stay here, heads down," he says quickly before turning to stride toward the door with Blink. After a swift glance to make certain that a chain gun is not about to take his head off, he steps outside into the chaos.

The orc draws a hand up to slide two fingers between his lips and let out a shrill whistle. While he waits for his steed to arrive, he slings the musket off of his back and takes aim down the barrel at the nearest threat. Barring any catastrophic issues, he does not expect that his horse will take long to get around the back of the shop. Plenty of time to line up at least one shot.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 1 to find someone causing the mayhem, hopefully. Gonna wait until we get initiative or something to actually try shooting.

Looks around for something large and thick to hide behind, finds some sheet plating from an old industrial unit, then gets down behind it.

Under 100% cover, so no perception

"Always get to get out of harms way when a large combat unit is working"

Blink, Neyra, and Jaymus witness a scene of carnage as men in shining black & red armor with horns on the helm fire laser rifles at the military police, who respond with crackling blasts of electricity from their arc rifles. The town's annihilator fires off chain gun volleys at the attackers as citizens run in terror. You hear an engine start up as Arlo and Meribeth speed by in their hoverbike, with Meri firing the mounted laser on the sidecar at the intruders.

Amid all the chaos, you spot 2 of the hooded figures, now without their cloaks, wearing red and black leather armor and brandishing longswords. One is dragging his dead companion as the other is yelling at the top of her lungs at a scared woman holding a baby, demanding she let them in.

how far is the one dragging his buddy from where we are?

Are we rolling initiative? If so.. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22. If not, move the 19 down to the attack roll below (add 2 to the attack roll).

Regardless, this is Narya's action.

"Invaders! We must stop them at once! Target those in red and black, they appear to be the hostiles!"
"How I would love one of those laser rifles!" she thinks to herself as she takes aim at one of the red and black leather clad invaders (whichever provides a better target. If she has to be specific, the woman harassing the civilian is her target) and fires her musket.

Attack - Musket: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage- Musket: 1d12 ⇒ 9

After she fires, she sheathes her musket and draws her longsword.

Move Action: Sheathe musket, draw longsword.

Looks up from its hiding place with the sounds of a Musket shot.

O great their going to be brave, tin cans and nuts

Gets up looks around and grabs a long pipe, then walks over to the others at the door and says.

"So what are we doing"

Blink, he's 40 ft. away.

The bullet rips through the air and pierces the woman's side. "Oh @#%$! Who in the All-Father's name did that?," she yells.

Surprise round. Everyone roll initiative. Neyra, you can keep the one you rolled or roll a new initiative if you would like.

Female Aasimar Paladin 1 (Empyreal Knight) | HP 12/12 | AC 15| Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +3

Keeping the 22 for sure. My action was my surprise round, correct?
Neyra turns to her new companions.
"Protect the townsfolk, but be wary of making yourself seem hostile toward the militia and the annihilator robot."

Yes it was so you're done for the surprise round I believe.

Initi 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

"I see, attack but don't attack"

Starts looking around for a range weapon.

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Surprise round standard action: shoot the same target as Neyra. Horse's action: move to Jaymus.

Jaymus wastes no time in cranking on the trigger of his musket the moment he seems Neyra's bullet strike one of the attackers. Better to concentrate fire and take the group down sooner rather than later. When Arlo and Meribeth speed by, he lifts his brows in surprise at their insistence on joining the fight. His shock quickly melts away in favor of dread delight when his ghostly steed prances up.

Musket Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 1d12 ⇒ 8

Game died

Initiative: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

"You keep that poor woman out of this!" Blink demands as she sprints towards the one dragging the body and the woman holding her baby, drawing her rapier as she does so.
