the joy of pbp: its still here when you get back

I'm wondering if Warhawk is still here, I might have to do some more recruiting to replace missing players.

Game died

I know a guy who would be more than happy to jump in on a sci fi campaign. He actually already rolled stats in the recruitment thread (LabRAT) but didn't have a chance to put together a character as quickly as he'd of liked.

I think you planned for four characters anyways and it's been just the three of us. So even if Warhawk is still with us here, I can promise he'd be a good addition ;P

Oh, and at the risk of sounding like a nagging housewife... >.>;;
Were you ever able to look up variant multiclassing?
Was my idea to pick up the psychic sorcerer bloodline (from the occult books) and still go arcane trickster something you were allowing? I wasn't sure if you saying we could houserule it was a green light on my end and I didn't want to make assumptions or step on toes.

Sure he's fine to join :).

I was at the store the other day and I could only get two books.....So I got the ACG and OA >_< sorry, but hopefully it'll be up on the PRD soon.

Yes you can pick up the psychic bloodline and I'll allow you to retool the arcane trickster as a psychic trickster. Just know that psychic abilities are a relatively new occurence on Astrexos, and are often manifested by being exposed to radiation.

Game died

I dig it. Also you're gonna love both those books. I'll bug him to prep up a character and look over the first few gameplay posts so he can catch himself up :)

ACG seems pretty good, although I question some things in it (Musketeer as a swashbuckler archetype? Why not just play a gunslinger with the similarly named archetype?). OA seems awesome, the skim-over I did looked cool, and can't wait to read up on the classes :).

I'm still here, just not sure exactly how my character would fit into the events going on.

Yea, sorry I haven't been keeping up with the gazeteers and world info, I know it leaves you guys a bit lost. I'm still formulating parts of Astrexos in my head, but I will be updating the campaign info with more settlement and region info every now and then.

Male Unique Kenku Warrior 1/Expert 10/Slacker 3

More info would be great. Neyra left the Temple of Brigh, but I have no idea how far from the town square the temple is, nor does she really know what Father Iroy looks like. She could literally walk right by him and not even know it, especially if it's crowded.

Sorry, should have provided more info. The temple is only a short walk away from the town square. Father Iroy is a blond human of average height, wearing white and gold robes. His hair is fairly long, and while not bulging at the arms, he has a fair amount of muscle.

Male Unique Kenku Warrior 1/Expert 10/Slacker 3

So it would be conceivable for her to notice him on the short walk? If so, I'll go ahead and post something to that effect.

Yes, he's currently on his way back to the temple.

Hey, I'm Blink's friend! I'm leaning toward Cavalier, but I did want to get feedback on what everybody would like to see in the party. Also, GM, how do you feel about the Ghost Rider Cavalier archetype?

Welcome :) I'm fine with that archetype, recently got OA so interested to see some of the stuff from it actually be played.

Great! Given that everything on Astrexos is mutated, what are the odds I could convince you to let me use a ghost of some crazy, mutated beast as the mount?

We'll see. ;) Not everything is mutated but there are a a good amount of mutants.

Male Unique Kenku Warrior 1/Expert 10/Slacker 3

BTW Neyra was coming to talk to you, IO.

Yea, not to be rude, but I was kinda waiting for IO's response before proceeding.

Game died

WELL THEN let me jump in and help this process along.

Just a few quick things for clarification purposes: are guns commonplace or everywhere? Also, are you cool with me playing an orc, mister DM? Or would you rather I picked a different race? And finally, any word on what my options are for the ghostly steed? The last one's more for curiosity, really, but the rest are so I know what my guy has on hand before posting in the thread.

Everywhere, orc is fine, and I'm still thinking about the steed part.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply. No rush on the steed thing, that can get sorted out whenever. It can even be a ghost motorcycle or something, though that would be hell to stat out.

Male Unique Kenku Warrior 1/Expert 10/Slacker 3

BTW GMSD, the Call to Arms: Fantastic Technology has different vehicle propulsion systems. They are: Combustion (like alchemical, but uses Profession (Driver) on land, (Sailor) on sea, and Fly for aerial vehicles), Reaction (more advanced combustion for settings with rocketry), and Fusion (more advanced Reaction for settings with fusion).

Male Unique Kenku Warrior 1/Expert 10/Slacker 3

Seems Nerya had interrupted your plan of action, GMSD. I'll try to get them back on track. :-P

You're welcome, nothing to do locally so I entertain myself by reading the boards and checking my campaigns XD. I still have to read a bit more, but are there limitations on what the ghost can be? Also Warhawk, I will look into that book, but running low on birthday money so may not be able to get it. Plus I'll have to read more on vehicles, most of my time reading UC is the class chapter lol.

So,
Apparently the way it's worded, Amateur Gunslinger says that when the character gains a level in a class that provides grit (aka gunslinger), they MAY switch out the feat for Extra Grit. The archetype that I was planning on taking with gunslinger was mysterious stranger, as this archetype switches wisdom for charisma for grit. Now,if we go with RAW, I DO NOT want to switch out Amateur Gunslinger for Extra Grit, as that would have me give up the absolutely most necessary deed for a gunslinger... Quick Clear. My plan is to take mysterious stranger but keep Amateur Gunslinger to keep Quick Clear selected from that feat, and replace the deeds gained from gunslinger that are swapped with Mysterios Stranger. Your thoughts?

On a side note... I'd take techslinger, but it replaces some of the same deeds as mysterious stranger.

As I understand it, the ghost can be anything that the cavalier is physically capable of riding. By RAW that tends to mean either a horse or camel for a Medium sized PC, but the GM can also allow for other creatures, of course.

Sorry guys, had to go on a family trip over the weekend. That's fine for you to do Warhawk. Labrat, let's keep it simple with standard mounts, but you can say that your mount has weird growths and minor deformities.

Just wondering, is everyone still here? I've been busy with finishing up school, but I should have more time to post since I'm finished.

I am, though I can't speak for anyone else. Was just waiting for the appropriate time to bring in my orc.

yep

It's ALIVE!!

Yay.

I'm here :3 will post tonight

XD sorry, had a lot of life happen recently, but I'm determined to not let this campaign become a doomed exercise like my others. I plan on keeping this one up and running. :)

Male Unique Kenku Warrior 1/Expert 10/Slacker 3

Just an FYI, I'll be moving to Japan in early November, but I'll have my laptop available. Internet may be an issue, especially when I actually move to Japan and need to get it activated there. I try to get on and check at least once per day, but the time of day it is done fluctuates.

Lucky you, living in Japan. :p

Btw, in this world, melee weapons are usually extendable and have a lock feature that locks the the segmented parts of the weapon into place once extended.

So... [insert weapon material here] lightsaber w/o energy? If I had a quarterstaff, it would be like the Anla-shok's Denn'bok (Minbari fighting pike)?

Badass.

Is Neyra's longsword like that, or does it cost extra.

Basically. The blade is stored in the hilt and come out in segments. The blade then locks the segments together to form a solid blade. It doesn't cost anything, just a way I figured out to explain why people in a world filled with tech would be carrying medieval weaponry. :)

Also, I will be working on the gazetteer for Astrexo's capital, Shatterhaven, soon. Sorry again for being lazy about putting out world info.

Btw, how'd I do on the Karagas one? Just some feedback so I can improve future gazetteers.

Alias done. Give me a yell if you see anything wrong with it.

Where did you get the orc skull ram from?

In character or out of character? Out of character, it's one of those crazy weapons orcs are proficient with that also happens to be super cheap. So I figured why not? The Skull Ram came out of the Melee Tactics Toolbox apparently.

In character, I'm thinking he uses it as something of a totem to commemorate special occasions. The skull on the end of it is the horse's skull that he uses as a mount even after its death. He carves into the totem himself with his dagger, so that he never forgets his past successes and failures.

Oh ok, I don't have that book so didn't know what it was. XD

No worries! If you click the link there, it'll show you what it is. The PFSRD is super handy for those who don't have the books. That said, if you're not on board with the weapon, I can always juggle it out for something else.

As for the Gazetteer, I liked it! Simple, followed the Paizo conventions of them, and easy to read. I am curious what the magic items in the town are and when we get to meet some of the rest of those notable NPCs, though.

I'm fine with the weapon, just had never heard of it.

Awesome. It's about as unsophisticated as you can get: a log with a skull on the end and a leather strap to make carrying it easier. I thought it'd be a nice, slightly amusing difference between most people who are cruising around with crazy laser rifles and mecha-swords.

People might ask, "Why does he have a log? Also what's a log?" XD But there are some trees left so it's not too far-fetched.

My logic is that it's probably a calcified tree that he just carves into with the power of sheer determination and big muscles. But I mean, people are gonna give him weird looks for the ghost horse alone, so at this point they get to take their pick.
