Saul Brooks |

Sure. Running. I can do that. With a heavy sigh, and quick prayer to whatever deity that's in charge of settling stomachs, Saul takes off to the west.
Only to stop short at the entrance to the dark room.
Saul double moves, and stops at q35.
Though I'm better at it when I can see where I'm going.... Saul grumbles to himself.

Anthony Krast |

Satisfied that enough of his companions had headed out the door before himself, Anthony followed, moving up behind Saul who was eyeing the pitch blackness of the corridor.
Trouble seeing? Give me a second and ill help you with that.
Gonna move as far as I can manage. A run move would let me move 80 feet. As I recall though, you cant run or charge through allies so im just gonna walk up behind Saul.
Next round ill cast Light on Sauls Shield (assuming he waits for me to do so), then ill follow after him with a 20 foot move. If he doesnt wait and simply runs into the darkness, ill double move into the next room.

GM Ascension |

Dont know wether this has changed in Pathfinder, but wasnt there a rule in 3.5 that if you were running, you lost your dex to AC?
This still applies. They did not break out into a full run though.
R31 is occupied. Putting Vaek at R32.
Everyone cleared the hallway, so having Anthony run to catch up to Saul this turn.
Sorad, you have drow blocking the western door. Attack? Acrobatics through them?
Vaek charges the drow, blade swinging, but the drow sidesteps the attack.
Maeltheron makes his way through the dark room till he finds the western wall.
From his vantage Vaek can see that Maklo is about three quarters the way up the ladder, scrambling desperately higher.
Waiting on Sorad, then the drows turn.

GM Ascension |

Sorad smashes in the nose of the drow in front of the door, dropping him in a spray of blood.
The other turns and runs Sorad may take an AoO, though she has cover from his attacks because of the corner.
Maklo disappears through the hole into the rope shop above. The trap door slams shut, echoing into the corridor.
Party may act

Anthony Krast |

"Ok lets try this one more time" Anthony muttered to himself. He had surely done his part this night, but he wasnt satisfied with having been bested so handily in combat. Taking a series of quick strides he swung at the rearmost Drow.
Move to Q 32 and attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Damage: 3d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 6, 1) + 4 = 12

Vaek |

Vaek makes chase down the corridor. Not sure where the drow would be, or if i'm able to attack him going up the ladder
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
If i can't reach the fleeing drow, I will head up the latter

GM Ascension |

Vaek makes chase down the corridor. Not sure where the drow would be, or if i'm able to attack him going up the ladder
[dice=attack]1d20+8
If i can't reach the fleeing drow, I will head up the latter
Sorad only knocked out one of the two drow blocking the corridor. He tripped the other one, but if you want to move past her you will need to make an acrobatics check still. Failure means you are blocked and cannot move through her square. Maklo is out of sight, having reached the top of the ladder and climbed up through the trap door on his turn.

Vaek |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Vaek leaps past the fallen drow as he heads up the ladder he shouts back to Sicvicus, "Don't worry, we left one behind for you Sic!
That drow's death will be less then pleasant

Saul Brooks |

Saul Moves to R31
Sorry lady, but I guess tonight's just not your night.
Saul attempts knock the drow out cold with his tonfa (not using power attack)
Attack= d20+12 -4 for non-lethal 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 12 - 4 = 25
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

GM Ascension |

Return AoO against Sorad's trip. d20 + mods = -2
Sorad trips the drow woman and both Vaek and Maeltheron leap over her.
Saul runs forward slamming the drow in the side of the hide with the tonfa. Anthony also pushes forward catching her in the ribs with a well placed punch. The woman falls to the ground unconscious.
Vaek, Maeltheron and Sorad race towards the ladder.
Vaek is halfway up the ladder, Maeltheron just below him. Sorad blocked from climbing the ladder.

Vaek |

Trying to scramble up the ladder as quickly as he can, he pushes open the trap door assuming it wasn't locked
Upon getting up the the upper level, Vaek takes a quick scan to see where the drow fled too. If i can still see where the drow went, or can hear where he was going, I pursue in that direction

Anthony Krast |

Anthony had had enough running about for one night and decided his presence in a chase most likely wouldnt make or break the pursuit...Or atleast it shouldnt with five of them. Casting yet another spell while hearing the suits voice in his head utter the words "Stores depleted" he quickly shouted after the group as they rushed the ladder.
Thats the last of my power for the day gentlemen, make it count. Ill stay here just in case.
Cast Haste, affecting as may of the others as I can reach (4 targets max, not Sorad who has Expeditious Retreat anyway). While the chase is on, Anthony will check in on the Mistress then takes Cheyle with him to Ilvarias room to busy himself with searching it.

Sicsivicus |

The way forward looked blocked for a second as his pals tried get up the ladder so Sic decided to finish off the drow that was out cold at his feet. He lifted his ax with both hands and swung it down hard.
You aint coming back to get me when Im sleeping b&*#%.
Coup de grace drow at R.30. Full round action. Auto Crit.
Battle Ax Crit damage = Drow's Fort Save DC or die: 3d8 + 18 ⇒ (8, 3, 8) + 18 = 37

Anthony Krast |

Behind his metal exterior Anthony scowled in Sics direction as the mans axe sank into its helpless victim with a hollow thud followed by the soft squelching as he retrieved it, a frothing bubbling sound issuing from the corpse as air escaped from withing the gaping chasm left by the blade. Probably from a swiftly collapsing lung.
He wondered briefly at when it had all gone so wrong, that he was feeling equal measures of comtempt and respect for Sics actions.
Not wanting to dwell on his conflicting opinions he turned to leave the room, a little quicker than before.

GM Ascension |

Anthony's enchantment settles in the group, giving a burst of speed and renewed vigor. Hits all but Sorad
Sic dismembers one of the unconscious drow lying at his feet.
Inside the rope shop is dark. Even with dark vision there is no sign of life or movement.
Maeltheron follows up behind Vaek, but is unable to see in the dark interior of the shop and stumbles along. Sorad pushes past him catching up to Vaek.
@Saul did you want to give chase up the ladder with the others?
The door to Ilvaria's room is locked, so Vaek or Maeltheron would need to come back at some point to open it. But going to just assume at some point they come do a take 20 to get it open.
A bed adorns the southwest corner of the priestesses room. A single red silk sheet covers it.
A desk rests against the east wall, a small stack of papers sitting on the north end of it. A simple ink well and quill near the stack.
In the southwest corner is an oak wardrobe. The lower half contains three closed drawers, the upper half a cabinet with the doors closed.

Vaek |

"He's going east. I will follow through the window, perhaps you can cut him off if he turns south. It may be a challenge to bring him in without causing suspicion. We will deal with that after we have him though." Vaek exclaims as he times his jump through the window.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Vaek leaps through the open shutters, arcing his back to avoid hitting the side of the building. After getting his bearings, he sprints towards the drow. Haste round 1
I do a double move, with haste. Not sure how far I can get with the result of the jump through the window or if I land on my feet or not.
I was trying to find out if my hat of disquise was a instant action. Also, can I change the appearance of someone that I have barely met? I have in mind one of the guards from the crystal shop. If I can change instantly, I will look like the guard James once I am through the window. But I don't want to do anything that will reduce the amount of movement.

Maeltheron Timmerond |

Mael, will run (Hasted double move) out of the front of the building at Vaek's words and look immediately to the North to see if the quarry turned South to his position or is continuing East.
I am figuring that his familiarity with the layout of the warehouse will enable him to leave most quickly by the front door in the dark.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28

Sicsivicus |

Sic took the ladder up as soon as possible and follows after his pals testing the air to see if he can detect any particular scents.
Survival: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Anthony Krast |

Anthony looked back at Sic leaving, having been twarted by a simple lock. Noting that Sic had left one unconcious drow alive on the floor he called to the mistress.
Mistress, got another one bleeding out here. Should I let nature run its course or intervene?

Saul Brooks |

Yes, Saul moves up the ladder, double move to make it up there I'm sure. I'm not sure where that will place him though.
Saul pulls himself over the ladder, the adrenalin finally burning through the remnants of whatever poison was used on him.
His head swings around taking note of his comrades, and keeping his eyes open for drow reinforcements.
Perception1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

GM Ascension |

The mistress takes a look at the drow lying on the ground. "I have no need of that one. She will know nothing - let her bleed."
Sic and Saul give join in the chase, their magically enhanced speed allowing them to quickly reach the top of the ladder into the rope shop.
Maeltheron stumbling through the dark makes his way to the front entrance and turns the lock, stepping out into the night.
Vaek and Sorad catch up to Maklo, Sorad circling around him to cut him off from escape. The drow gives a loud shout trying to keep away from the two of them. He holds a long blade in one hand.
To the east, in the direction of The Wailing Spirits someone shouts something.
Maklo attempts to dodge past his assailants.
Withdraw action avoiding AoO's from Vaek. Acrobatics to move another space to get away from Sorad d20 + mods = 19 - does not evade Sorad, Sorad may take an AoO.
The map assumes Sorad does a successful grapple or trip to bring Maklo to a halt, if he fails then Maklo has moved to J53.

Maeltheron Timmerond |

AC: 20, HP: 45/45, Hasted, Point Blank, Precise Shot
Mael moves quickly to 0-42 and fires a Blue Whinnis arrow at the Drow attempting to be grappled by Sorad.
LB ATT: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 1 = 14
LB DAM: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Blue Whinnis Poison on Arrow - DC 14

Vaek |

Vaek loops around above avoding any AoO's flanking the drow.
Haste Round 2
"We need to get off the streets quickly. It will be easier to heal Maklo up later."
Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 31
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 3d6 ⇒ (6) + 2 + (6, 2, 6) = 22
Crit Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
haha, hopefully, I didn't kill him all the way
assuming the drow is down, I will immediately pick him up to try to get him inside the Rope store before the guards from the east can get to us. Assuming a strength check is needed. While moving towards the rope shop if there appears to be a place outside that we could hide him under garbage or something along those lines, I will head towards that instead
strength: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
If Sorad didn't grapple him, I will change my appearance to look like a guard (the one named James at the crystal shop), and continue to pursue him

GM Ascension |

Sorad attempts to grab the fleeing drow, getting a hand hold of his clothing, but Maklo breaks through the grip. Maklo is at J53 before Maeltheron or Vaek can act
Maeltheron did you want to move north to take a shot at him?
Vaek the only way you are going to reach him and be able to attack is with a charge action. Do you want to do that?

Vaek |

Yeah, let's do that, but it appears now were going to have to kill some guards as well. oh well.
Assuming your taking the above rolls, I believe that would put my normal attack damage to 6, and my crit damage to 7, +3 for my Killer Trait for a total of 16. I assume I don't get my sneak attack damage.

GM Ascension |

Taking your existing roll Maeltheron
With the light of the moon and stars to see by Maeltheron runs northward to get a bead on the fleeing drow. The arrow flies past Maklo's head, narrowly missing.
Vaek charges after him, blade tearing into the leather armor and clothing worn by the drow and leaving him wounded as Sorad gets a solid group upon him, evading Maklo's wild swing at him.
AoO against Sorad for grappling, d20 + mods = 11
Sic bursts out of the rope shop and moves to join Maeltheron.
Saul giving chase as well still I assume?
Maklo tries to break free of Sorad's grip d20 + mods = 11 but is held fast.
A number of city guardsmen in chain shirts and wielding short blades come around the corners of the building. They call out with yells and shouts.
"Lay down your weapons immediately."
"Captain, we've a fight here."
"That's a bloody drow."
And from somewhere near the brothel, "Hansen, Rigels, get your backsides out here."
Party's turn

Vaek |

Vaek speaking to the guards"There is no fight here captain. This dirty drow stole from one of our fine glass makers in city. Mister Jumai."
Bluff
Drow grappled, I assume I get either flanking and/or their loss of dex bonus. thus including sneak attack damage
Haste Round 3
Vaek takes a swing at the drow.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 26 not sure what the modifier is for a target that is grappeled
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 3d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (5, 4, 5) = 18
"My name is James, I guard Mister Jumai's store. This thief.. I tracked him back here. Let's not have further blood this night."
Vaek takes what he hopes is a final swing to finish off the drow.
1d20 + 8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 1 + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 3d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (4, 6, 3) = 18
Vaek speaking to his comrades
