Vaek |

Vaek will go in first, once in the room to the secret entrance, he will have his blade drawn and readied in the event of a surprise attack. Going into stealth mode.
"We will have to look for Leandric later. For now, we need to get inside right away."

GM Ascension |

Slipping through the shadows of the street everyone makes their way over to the emergency entrance and slips into the small room. Lifting the bed and setting is aside the trap door is soon open, leading down into the pitch black tunnel 20' below.
Assuming Sic casts a light spell on something Vaek is holding? Or someone else provides a light source? If not only Sorad, Sic and the drow will be able to see.
Climbing down the ladder one at a time everyone crowds into the hallway.

Vaek |

Vaek has dark vision
Vaek scans the room before entering. Once it is safe, he moves to N51 and peaks into that room.

Anthony Krast |

Anthony whispered in the darkness.
Dont worry about the darkness Maeltheron, if things get hairy ill cast a Light spell.
Vaek, have a peak through the keyhole would you?
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28

Sicsivicus |

Sic waited calmly in the back of the group and decided they should take a further precaution from prying ears and whispered his idea to the group.
Stealth and Perception

Anthony Krast |

Anthony replied in kind.
Thats a pretty good idea Sic...atleast assuming she doesnt speak Cyclopian. I mean she IS a guild member isnt she?
Anthony looked at her as he spoke, attempting to spot any signs that she might understand what was being said.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Hmmm wait im not supposed to roll this one right?

Vaek |

My understanding, is generally, the DM will roll on things that you won't have a true way of knowing how well you did or not. For example, when we were dealing with the guards at the beginning, while I was trying to bluff my way in, we had to gage the success on what we saw from the guards reaction, or viewing my "performance". I believe the DM said that some of our party realized that my performance was not coming off very well.
With that said, perhaps the DM can give a more definitive answer. I understand where he is coming from on doing secret rolls for us, especially when we happen to come across other players (whether we realize it or not).
Question for the DM, is it assumed that all thieves guild members speak our secret language, or is that something we can safely consider our own groups language?
In a hushed voice,
He listens to the door hoping to catch the slightest sound. He slowly opens the door, looking to the right, and then to the left. Assuming I don't see any danger He slowly moves into the room and puts his back against the wall next to the door on the right. Once he has a clear view of the room, he signals his team to come in.

GM Ascension |

What players roll vs what I roll has been a source of confusion for all the groups, so I'll list it out clearly here.
I'm going to post this information in the campaign info tab for reference
Damage Rolls
Saving Throws
Skills which have a obvious success or failure condition - which are:
Acrobatics
Bluff (diplomacy, intimidate) when used in combat, these have a obvious success/failure in combat
Climb
Craft
Disable Device
Escape Artist
Fly
Heal
Knowledge Skills (but in some cases I will roll these for you - if you encounter an unknown creature I will roll the appropriate knowledge roll and provide what that reveals as part of the physical description I give of the creature).
Perform
Profession
Ride
Sleight of Hand
Spellcraft (I will roll these for you if an opponent is casting a spell though just so the game doesn't need to pause to know what the spell is)
Survival (sometimes - like if you were trying to forage for food, other times I will roll it for something like tracking)
Swim
Use Magic Device
Appraise
Bluff (diplomacy, intimidate) when used out of combat, these have varying degrees of success out of combat and a opposing player/NPC might choose to play along even though they were unaffected.
Disguise
Handle Animal
Linguistics
Perception
Sense Motive
Survival (sometimes - see section on player rolls)
All guild members eventually learn Cyclopian, newer members will rarely know it.
Vaek opens the door a crack, then slowly pushes it the rest of the way open. The room is pitch black. A tiefling lies dead in the southeast corner of the room, no weapons can be seen on the unfortunate, and his leather armor shows several slashes across the chest where blades pierced him.
The hidden door on the north wall is closed. You know from past experience that hearing any noise that might be going on behind the door will be difficult.

Vaek |

Poor fool. Found himself on the wrong side of a race fight. Their used to be honor among thieves. If I wasn't a thief myself, I would let the authorities know of Ilvaria. Perhaps, this will give the chance for us to take control of the guild ourselves?
Vaek's thoughts raced. He normally welcomed a little bit of chaos, but that is when he caused it or was aware of the bigger picture.
He takes a moment to search the dead tiefling for any money or other items of interest.
He motions his hand pointing to the northern door. Staying in the lead with his weapon drawn, he will slowly open and go through it. assuming nothing of interest in the hallway he continues to n55 on previous map Stopping at the two doors. He looks back, points to his eyes and then to Sorad, then he points to the northern door.
Vaek opens the west door, and slowly opens the door at N51 previous map
DM, do these doors have locks on them so we can lock them behind us?

Sicsivicus |

...and so it has begun even here...damn...damn drow...hope I get to cut some of the fools down for this transgression...and for you Father Skinsaw...
Sic had no emotion on his face when he saw the tiefling. He had known him and had little to no respect for the devil spawn and his haughty airs...still, aint no way to go being caught in the middle of a coup...
He watched Vaek work with his typical effeciency and nodded that he was reeady when the man motioned that he was going through the door.
He was somewhat reassured that Cheyle didnt seem to understand everything they had said...it'll have to be double talk and innuendo around her then...

GM Ascension |

Anthony quietly follows the group, ever placed squarely in the middle.I dont see Stealth in either category.
GM roll for stealth, updated campaign tab to include that.
Doors can be locked from the inside of the complex out - that is the room with the tables can be locked to bar entry from the outside. The door at N54-N55 can be locked from the N54 side. M55-N55 could be locked from the N55 side, W55-X55 could be locked from the W55 side, etc.
Vaek leads the way into the narrow passage beyond the secret door, and down to the end of it, moving quietly. Maeltheron though blinded by the darkness moves with the ease of familiarity to the place, and the other coming up behind. Shifting a seemingly loose stone the next passage opens heading west. When Vaek tries to trigger the mechanism to open the door to the dining hall the door doesn't move - it has been locked from the other side.

Maeltheron Timmerond |

I could certainly do it with a little light.
@GM Ascension: Thanks for the clarification and posting in the Campaign Tab. Can we just call the language Thieve's Cant, which can be expressed both verbally and by sign language?

Maeltheron Timmerond |

Maeltheron kneels down and unrolls a worn and oiled piece of leather exposing finely crafted tools of his trade. he sets to work on the lock to open the lock in the nimbus of light created by Sic.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 13 + 2 = 23
Let's see if we can get this thing open.

Anthony Krast |

Sic, I suggest you dismiss the Light spell if Maeltheron defeats the lock, then ready a new one if its needed.
Although I suspect if this next room is as devoid of light as the rest, anyone in there will already know someone is here from light through the cracks.

Vaek |

Vaek nods in agreement with Tony. "Though by now i'm sure the traitor will know that not all her executions will be successful. We can only assume she knows we are coming for her."
Assuming Mael is able to open the lock Vaek once again takes the lead and slowly opens the door and again enters sliding to the right so his back is to the wall.

GM Ascension |

Although I suspect if this next room is as devoid of light as the rest, anyone in there will already know someone is here from light through the cracks.
The craftsmanship of the doors is such so as to prevent light coming through. For someone who didn't know the hidden doors were there they would be hard to find.
There is the faintest of clicks as Maeltheron triggers the locking mechanism open.
Vaek pushes the door open a crack to take a peak inside, a single female can be seen standing at the far end of the room, but she has a cloaked hood pulled close over her face hiding her features and identity.

Vaek |

Didn't realize the the doors opened to the right, in which case I will be entering and moving left with my back to the wall
Not reacting to the woman in the corner. That sound he heard. Where was it coming from. Perhaps behind the door? Perhaps the thief was invisible
He signals to his companions with hand motions to be cautious and indicating their may be someone else behind the door.
Linguistics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Vaek pauses for a moment to get a clear vision of the surroundings looking for any new traps located in the room.
Perception
No doubt this woman knows were here, so there is no suprise. Time to add surprise back to the table
Vaek dissappears from sight Using 1 Ki point to gain invisibility 1 Min/per level
Walking over to the woman in the corner silently, pulling out his blade ready to strike if she somehow sees him still.
Stealth
GM: are the ceilings a standard 10 feed high? in the event that somebody is spider climbing to attack from above?

Anthony Krast |

You know what Vaek, I think you are right. So lets just get on with it shall we?
With that said, Anthony channeled a spell from the suit, before striding into the room, Cheyle reluctantly in tow.
Cast Mage Armor on self, move to O 46, then Perception (+15). Since we arent in combat I assume I can do a standard action followed by a double move?
Spells left
Summoner level 1 : 2/5
Summoner level 2 : 2/3
Oracle level 1 : 4/5

Vaek |

Though you need to remove the first /dice and make it just dice :) Also, since it takes a minute for your suit to do whatever it is that it does, I think it is presumed that before we do any attacking, we wait until your voltron mode is complete.

GM Ascension |

Init Order
Sorad
Vaek
Maeltheron
Sic
Drow
Anthony
I don't use a strict initiative order, but rather everyone before the enemy takes actions, then the enemies go, then everyone after - in whatever order you happen to post in.
Disappearing from sight, Vaek moves swiftly into the room, with Maeltheron following close behind. Getting a closer look, the woman near the corner is Ilvaria, dressed in scale mail, a greatsword strapped to her back.
In the very corner of the room is Mistress Diguri, still dressed in her purple silks, sitting in a chair, her hands behind her back and a large bruise on her left cheek. The edges of a smile touch her mouth as she watches Maeltheron enter into the room.
Just south of the door is another drow, a male dressed in a breastplate and a heavy flail in hand, ready to attack. As Maeltheron enters a wicked grin crosses his face.
A third drow dressed in loose fitting clothes stands near the center of the room. Her eyes filled with malice.
Sorad, Maeltheron, and Sic are up, followed by the drow. Maeltheron has already moved 10' so far, but can take the rest of his actions - up to 20' more of movement and a standard action.
Anthony hasn't had a chance to cast mage armor yet.

Anthony Krast |

On his turn, Anthony will run to the middle of the room somewhere on the O line (whereever he can be out of AOOs next round so he can cast a spell).

Maeltheron Timmerond |

Round 1, AC: 19, HP 45/45, Point Blank Shot, Sneak Attack
Mael stealthily slides back into the corner (K50) and fires at the male drow located near the door (P50) with a Blue Whinnis Arrow (DC 14).
LB ATT: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
LB DAM: 1d8 + 4 + 3d6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + (4, 6, 5) = 20
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Add'l Crit Dam: 1d8 + 4 + 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + (5) + 4 = 15
Potentially 35 total damage if confirmed + Blue Whinnis

Sicsivicus |

With the others flowing intot he room with weapons drawn; Sic figured it was time to get down to the dirty work. He called upon Father Skinsaw to cloak him from prying eyes, slid his battleax from its ring on his hip and moved into the room.
cast domain spell - Invisibility. Move to N,50

GM Ascension |

At this close range Maeltheron's arrow pierces the drows armor, evoking a curse from him as he begins bleeding from the wound. Fort save d20 + mods = 16
Sorad then the drow

GM Ascension |

"Maeltheron and Sorad, you are fools to come in here." says Ilvaria. Then speaking to her accomplices, "Kill them.".
The drow with the flail steps forward, weapon swinging for Sorad's head. Attack d20 + mods = 18. The monk with a casual air ducks under the swing.
The drow woman intones the words of the arcane and three exact copies of her spring into being, swirling around her, a blur of images.
Two more drow appear from out of no where, popping into sight as they swing short swords at Sorad. Attacks: d20 + mods = 11 and 26. Sorad is able to evade the first attack, but the second one catches him in the back. Damage: 8
Ilvaria moves towards the center of the room Vaek may take an AoO, then her voice ringing loudly in the room she chants the words of a spell, the symbol of her god held before her. A glow of green light surrounds Maeltheron. Maeltheron needs to make a will save DC 16 or be paralyzed - this is an enchantment effect so you get the +2 elf racial bonus.
Anthony is up, then top of the round again with everyone else.
Assuming Anthony will want to change his move as moving into the room will provoke several AoO's.

Anthony Krast |

Moving up behind the erupting melee, Anthony pulled forth magical energies (for real this time)
Move to N51, cast Haste affecting himself, Sorad, Sic and Mael, 4 rounds duration (+1 AC and Reflex, +30 feet movement, 1 xtra attack on full attack)
Confidence swelling in the heat of the moment he yelled.
We are the fools? Sounds like someone doesnt know what happened to the last Drow who tried to kill me!!

Vaek |

As Ilvaria passes by him haphazardly, Vaek speaks with venom, "Please don't say you have forgotten about me!" He swings with all his might at Ilvaria as she walks by.
If I miss, I say nothing for fluff reasons
Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Sneak Attack Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1) = 5
Total Damage = 11 - lowsy rolls. Do I have a chance to cause her spell to fail?

GM Ascension |

I don't feel to bad for you Vaek since my sneak attack against Sorad was even worse - and one of them missed as well.
It won't interrupt the spell since she moved, the AoO went off, she completed her movement, then cast her spell.
Maeltheron you can attempt a new save at the end of your turn each round to break free. So the turn you save you won't get to act, but thereafter you will. This includes this turn you get another save attempt.
