Male Halfling

round3:
will 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Rorse will rush into the mist and head toward the chanting, only attacking when he is sure that he has the necromancer.

acrobatics1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

greatsword1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Eriniyes begins slowly moving towards the chanting. She gets to square F19, where she sees Titus squaring off against a headless zombie. Moving on will trigger an attack of opportunity, so Eriniyes swings her morningstar at the zombie instead. She hits the zombie and sinks the spines of her morningstar into its flesh, but is unable to do enough damage to actually affect the undead.

Niesen takes a step up to D16. You hear him grunting in exertion as he makes attacks.
Attack 1: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Attack 2: 1d20 ⇒ 7

Titus to act...

Male Human, Chelaxian Monk 1

Round 3
Titus swings his fists at the zombie, unsure of what else to do to the creature. Even if his fists are minimally effective, they're all he has.
His hands fail to connect, however, as his mental debate throws off his concentration.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Eriniyes 20
Niesen 19
Titus 19-
Lilo 11
Rommin 7+
Tatrill 7
Headless Guy 7-
Rorse 5

Lilo steps into the mist at C15. He can't see the spellcaster (and has no idea about the zombie) but he can see Niesen in C16 fighting somebody in C17, so he targets his flare 10 feet straight ahead.
Tatrill fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Lilo is rewarded with a curse (in the same guttural language he's been chanting in).

Rommin to act...

Rommin will step one square into the mist, drawing his greatsword as he does so. His senses are on edge, scanning for anything to help separate friend from foe. If he meets foe...

To Hit 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 2) + 2 = 9

+2 to hit and damage if what he encounters is human...

Will Save 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Rommin climbs over a crate into square D15. He can make out Niesen in D16 (sorry, not C16) fighting a foe who would seem to be in C17. There is room in C16, so I assume Rommin presses on. As he advances slowly, he sees Niesen fighting what appear to be a pair of foes - two identical soldiers, in fact. Rommin steps up and attacks the "pair".
Rommin miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 9 Rommin's attack is fooled by the swirling mists.

The "pair" of soldiers fade away to reveal a single soldier, who attempts to cast a spell defensively: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15, but fails. He then steps back into the mist (B18).

The zombie attacks Titus with a slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21; miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 4. The zombie is fooled by the swirling mists also.

Rorse enters the mist and is able to follow people's gazes towards the caster (Rorse ends up in B17). The caster is once again a pair of identical casters. He attacks: (miss chance 1d100 ⇒ 25 for the mist; even he hits the correct image 1d4 ⇒ 1). Alas, Rorse's mighty blow succeeds only in cleaving the caster's single mirror image. The image fizzles and the caster chuckles at Rorse in a creepy, throaty cackle.

ROUND 4...

Eriniyes to act...

A thousand apologies for not being able to get the map updated - I haven't been able to post from the computer that has the map on it in awhile. Rorse is at B16, the caster B18, Lilo and C15, Rommin at C16, Niesen at D16, Eriniyes at F18, Titus and the zombie are as indicated.

Does the soldier stepping back provoke an attack of opportunity or is he just withdrawing?

Rommin Hawkridge wrote:

Just a 5-foot step.

MAP UPDATED...finally

Female Varisian Half-Elf Witch 1

Round 4:
Eriniyes senses that her weapon is not that affective against the undead monstrosity standing before her. She draws her dagger and slashes at him.

Dagger: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18, damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 32
Eriniyes' dagger finds its mark and slices a nasty gash down the undead's arm. The zombie doesn't even seem to care.

Niesen advances, looking for Tatrill, but comes upon the zombie instead. Taking advantage of the flank, he slashes at the zombie.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 + 2 = 15; miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 77; damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (1) = 6

Titus to act...

round4:
Rorse hops forward and swings again at the Necromancer. "Always nice to meet a man that is found of taking dying so lightly, I wonder if your god, will find you at the bottom of the ocean?

Round 4
Titus' frustration grows as he fails to connect with anything once again.

Lilo, you realize that flare causes you to be dazzled for 1 minute, not 1 round (that's daze)?

Lilo's weapon strikes true, but inflicts only a minor wound on Tatrill.

MAP UPDATED

I'm not seeing a link to the updated map, just the bold text...

From what Lilo did with the flare, can Rommin now see the necromancer?

Map location never changes. http://www.gmnazard.blogspot.com

Lilo didn't end up casting the second flare. You can't see the necromancer, but you know to which square he fled.

Rommin will step forward to B17 and try to see and strike the necromancer.

To hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7

Rommin's miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 34

Rommin's sword strike is true. Tatrill grunts in pain and jabbers off a long string in his strange language (you don't think he's complimenting you though).

Tatrill pulls out his holy symbol again and raises it high. It crackles with dark energies as he once again calls out the might of Norgorber and pain washes over you.
1d6 ⇒ 3; will save DC 14 for half (1 pt)

The zombie continues to attack Titus.
Zombie slam: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 A clear miss.
Rorse steps forward, balancing on the crates and swings at Tatrill. He easily ducks underneath the high swing.

ROUND 5...

Eriniyes to act...

Liberty's Edge

Male Halfling Sorcerer(draconic) [Gold Dragon] 3(favoured Class)

Will save1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Lilo winces as the dark energy saps more off his life force and swings his Morning star two handed at the foul man before him but smashes into the bulkhead instead

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

I forgot to mention that in addition to channeling energy, Tatrill attempts to activate a spell-like ability defensively.
Concentration: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Suddenly, there are two Tatrills where once there was only one.

Male Halfling

Spoiler:
Rorse swings again.[dice]1d20+3;1d10+2[.dice]

On round 4, Rommin rolled a 19. Should I roll to confirm a crit, or does this guy's defenses prevent that?

If appropriate

Spoiler:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
damage2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8

Yeah. Never mind.

Round 5

Spoiler:
Rommin will step and swing again, trying to determine which image is real.

To Hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11

Eriniyes slashes with her dagger at the zombie.
Eriniyes' attack:1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 1 + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Niesen attacks the zombie with hid blade.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13; damage: 1d4 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 2 + (3) = 9

The zombie falls to the floor and ceases to move. Niesen then moves to B19 (too much stuff there for a 5-foot step).

Titus to act...

Female Varisian Half-Elf Witch 1

Thanks for slashing that zombie for me. I had a busy weekend.

Male Human, Chelaxian Monk 1

Titus moves toward the caster, hoping he can find him. When he does, he goes for a shot to the arcanist's gut.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Attack
1d100 ⇒ 8 Miss chance
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Damage

You now have Tatrill surrounded, but he seems unconcerned, sneering at you and chanting in his foul language.

Lilo's swing is a miss, as is Rommin's.

Tatrill once again raises his unholy symbol and chants the words of Norgorber. Negative energy washes over you all. 1d6 ⇒ 1 Will save DC 14 for ...well...1 point also.

Rorse swings again. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20; miss chance 1d100 ⇒ 59; damage 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

ROUND 6

Eriniyes to act...

Tatrill's Concentration 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 Again, an illusory image of Tatrill appears along side of him.

Female Varisian Half-Elf Witch 1

Round 6:
Eriniyes steps up to the necromancer and swings her morningstar at the fool.

Morningstar: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15, miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 100, damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Wow! That 15 better hit...

Alas, Eriniyes' irate blow fails to connect with either Tatrill or his decoy image.

Niesen attacks with both blades again.
1d20 ⇒ 15 Miss
1d20 ⇒ 9 and a miss
Niesen growls. "Somebody...hold...him...still!"

Titus to act...

Male Halfling

Round 6?:
Rorse drops his blade at Neisen's suggestion and dives at the man growling much as Vero does when bringing down prey.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

ohhh! for the love of dice rollers!

Male Human, Chelaxian Monk 1

Round 6
Titus gets tired of the chase and throws his hands up, aiming at wrapping them both around the wizard's throat.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Grapple
1d100 ⇒ 72 Miss

Titus gets his hands on Tatrill and begins grappling him.
Tatrill now has a -4 penalty to his Dexterity.

Lilo to act...

Liberty's Edge

Male Halfling Sorcerer(draconic) [Gold Dragon] 3(favoured Class)

"Thats right hold him still" shouts Lilo as he winds up for another blow which only removes one of the Necromancers images

Lilo, he can only have one image at a time, forgot to mention the previous one vanishes. Rerolling for Lilo, 1 hits real thing 1d2 ⇒ 1; damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Lilo clearly hits the real Tatrill as both he and his image react in pain. Unfortunately, the nature of the illusion is such that the two quickly become indiscernable again.

Rommin to act...

Rommin purses his lips in frustration, still unable to tell which image is real and which is illusion. Eventually, he'll slip up... Rommin consoles himself. He swings again at one of the images...

To Hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

To Hit 1d20+5
Damage 2d6+4

Roll a 1 to hit real...1d2 ⇒ 2

Rommin positively crushes the illusion, causing it to vanish in a very unsatisfactory blink.

Tatrill smirks at all of you before pouring more negative energy into all your bodies. 1d6 ⇒ 3 Will save DC 14 for 1 point.
Then he concentrates in restarting his illusion. Concentration: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14 His spell-like ability fizzles and this time, there is only one Tatrill standing before you...the real one.

Titus to act...

Male Human, Chelaxian Monk 1

Round 7

Grunting through the worst of the negative energy, Titus squeezes his hands around the wizard's throat, lifting him bodily as he does so. His grunt turns to a growl as a mad look gets in the old man's eyes. He throttles the man in an attempt to snap his neck for him.

Will Save 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Grapple Check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Will save1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

Tatrill's ramblings in his strange language (by the way, do any of you speak unusual languages, beyond the standard dwarven and elven I mean?) begin to take on a gasping, choking sound as Titus starts squeezing the life out of the man.

Lilo to act, then Rommin...

No image this time, it's just Tatrill in all his glory...

Liberty's Edge

Male Halfling Sorcerer(draconic) [Gold Dragon] 3(favoured Class)

Lilo strikes at the Necromancer again hoping to take him out off the fight before any more damage can be done to nearby innocents.

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Alas his blow goes wide.

"Rommin...he's all yours" the Halfling gasps as he falls back from the combat to allow someone more adept with weapons into the space

Rommin hoists his sword, anger threatening to dictate the blow. However, skill and training win out, and he swings with power and accuracy. Hopefully.

To Hit 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 = 11

Miss chance for fog for Rommin:1d100 ⇒ 66

Rommin's mighty blow cleaves both mist and flesh. Tatrill's knees buckle and he slides off the half-elf's blade, bleeding out onto the floor.

Female Varisian Half-Elf Witch 1

"Nice work Rommin!" Eniyiyes says as she moves over to the dying necromancer. She starts to rummage through his belongings, throwing his holy symbol several feet away in the process.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Male Halfling

Rorse lets out a long string of Halfling obscenities, apparently He has taken open himself to prove the phrase curses like a sailor on himself to prove true.

Thank you! HE snatches up his blade and helps Erineyes look over the necromancer.
