So, problems with this encounter begins and ends with this guy's tactics. He was originally a Rogue/Assassin so I fixed that real quick by making him an Executioner Slayer instead (for Cube and Dual, this is also what Giles Halmis was).

Read these and see if you can find the issue:

He conceals the daggers in his sleeves and quietly observes a PC for at least 3 rounds if possible.

When the ghouls attack, Clanartus tries to flank his chosen target with one of the ghouls in order to make a death attack. He then continues to flank with the ghouls and make additional sneak attacks.

His stated tacticsare "Stand around doing nothing for three rounds and then try to make a Death Attack he CAN'T MAKE because you're aware of his presence".

I was more surprised by his to hit and damage really. I just assume his tactics were made so that he stealths and simply waits, maybe the Ghouls were supposed to talk you up and likely not be known to be ghouls. He stealths and waits for the 3rd round which goes by because combat hasnt started for the PC's but has started outside their realm. Then rush up, boom Assassinate. issue is.. 3/4ths of the Party have HIGH Perception and one has See Invis as a spell so even a potion of Invisibility would not have been helpful.

Hiya people. Ol' Ryn-Tin-Jin offered me a spot in your fun little adventures, and I've been reading through to catch up, but figured I'd ask if you guys have any requests for my character. I'm planning an Eldrich Knight/Arcane Archer ranged/control guy, but haven't settled on my race and entry classes, feats, skills, spells, etc.

If any of you have a story hook that can tie me with one of your characters or otherwise justify my showing up, flashing a PC badge and being trusted, I'd appreciate it. Also, if there's skills or spells you wish I could bring, I'll try to make it happen.

It seems my most likely entry will be wizard or maaaaaaybe arcanist, combined with archer archetype fighter, because prerequisite feats are a pain. So, yeah, there's that.

Yes and no, as far as knowing me. I normally go under Endoralis. On other threads we have had some similarities and differences. I have not to my knowledge personally interacted with you outside of those instances. You like Aliases.

As far as casting, you are correct we have no specific Arcane Casting but between Jones and Darius alot of things have been handled, there was basically a missing of something like.. Haste or other such spells arcane gets (Though we have BoF for those times). So I suppose an archer works, though they tend to be "Spell on a Bow" and blasters or summat.. which the oracle is. It doesnt help that, Darius himself has a Bow and is quite good with it when he wants. So really.. you can make whatever you want.

I was just commenting on Rynjins statement as if we were lacking... I purposely havent done things with Darius, it doesnt mean Darius CANT do those things.


Yeah, I enjoys some parody aliases. Frankly, with all my interactions with Ryn "Todd Flanders" Jin (we used to butt heads a lot, but when I started my drink tea thread, he was a regular, so we bonded over tea and Fallout) I'm suprised he hasn't gotten one. If it wasnt for the fact the PRC tens not to be that great I would have likely had an issue there if only because I had to spend so much to make this whip work.

Story hooks are going to be...difficult. There's basically no way to get into the place Darius just entered without the key. There is, however, a bit of a workaround. If you're infected with a Slugspawn, you could pass through the door without a key. However, that mean without a Remove Disease spell, you'll be meeting the same fate as poor Albor Voltiaro in three days.

So, perhaps you came to investigate, got infected, and are investigating in the hopes of finding someone willing and able to cure you at Undiomede House?

Darius and I have a pretty good handle on knowledge, at least with regards to identifying monsters (Arcana, Nature, and Religion). I haven't put much into Local and Dungeoneering, maybe you could invest in those.

As for story hooks: If you're building off a Wizard or other Int-based caster, maybe we could say that you studied magic alongside Jones at some university years ago. That way, Jones could vouch for your abilities and trustworthiness.

My character in general comes from a family of Monster Hunters so unless you have something along with that.....

I have Local and Dungeoneering but that doesnt mean to have something into it. I dont see Zin getting Remove Disease.

Not really. I gathered a vast breadth of knowledge from several sources while traveling across Golarion. It's entirely possible that I spent a year or two in Nex, just to see what I could learn about magic.

Three Traits. I originally gave everyone 2+Campaign, but the Campaign Traits don't make much sense any more (They were "How do you know Lorrimor?" the answer being "You don't" now).
