Wife and household goods both showed up. The bathroom, bedroom, part of the living room and some of the kitchen are in order. Enough that we can live day-to-day while she goes through the rest of what she brought and gets it all put away. I hope she can make it all fit. I'm really not certain she can. Still have boxes scattered in the dining room, living room and kitchen, and the second bedroom is about 50% full of boxes, too.
She's spent the last seven months getting rid of stuff, too.

"Hmpf! Can't be any worse 'an Ratty's fine c'sine," Reijo says to Bellamy, indicating the poor goblin with a grimacing look.
...
I'm still here. Glad to hear it Terry. Lol, guess moving is never easy or quick.
Reijo Ilvonen
Reijo shakes his head at Bellamy's meal plan. "Can't ye jus' make us some reg'ler fishes mate? Somethin' me not be needin' me boardin' axe ta work at openin'... 'specially with 'ese 'ere' bloody dungies takin' me axe an all."
Any nearby regular crewmembers get a suspicious glare from Reijo as he mindlessly reaches for his pipe yet again... and he is again pissed at not finding it where it's supposed to be.

"What's all the racket about?!"
I sent the GM a PM yesterday to get an update; looks like he hasn't posted on the messageboards in about three weeks.
Hopefully he returns soon or it may be time to start searching for a replacement GM.
Reijo Ilvonen
Let us know if you hear back from him, Doc. I am fine with a new GM if Marik is unable to continue. I think we lost our goblin, too.
I am not going to be able to post much for another month though. Ongoing medical situation in the family, and of course work decides to intensify at the same time. I had to drop all of my games. But after December 15, work will alleviate tremendously, so I should be able to resume a few games and get back on track with this one if we're back up by then.
EndlessForms
I still haven't heard back from him and it has officially been one month since he disappeared. I think it would be safe to search out a new GM (at least a temporary one if Marik shows up again). Although it sounds like Reijo may have trouble posting anyways. Hope everything is well on your end, Reijo.

Alchemist, Bard, Oracle and Rogue. Only one thing this party (as apparently survived the delay) doesn't do well: DAMAGE!
"Doc" T. J. Juckson
Doc will be primarily bomb-focused with his discoveries. Unfortunately I can't make bombs without access to my equipment. At least I have Throw Anything, right?

I'll keep this open for all players since I actually don't know who is in or out. I'll leave it to you guys to decide.
Equipment? This adventure Path is written that way but no worries, you're doing quite fine.
I'll wait another day or so before resolving the next day.
Terry of Quent
I've seen only 4 of us post since you volunteered to take over.
I think there may be a group hesitation to find out if the Bluff was good enough or if there is going to be a fight.
Reijo Ilvonen
Sorry guys, just checking in briefly for now as life's still been too tough for me to play lately. If you're willing to keep a back seat open for me until around Dec 16th I'd LOVE to climb right back in then (that's when my classes formally end, and work always quiets down by then too)... otherwise, I certainly understand.
Terry of Quent
I can't speak for anybody else, but my gameplay tab never showed me a new post existed after our new GM posted on Monday. Nobody else seems to have posted since then, so I don't think I'm alone on this point.
nightdeath

Hmm I didn't see anything either.........
I do tend to check more than once per day. Daily Posts for me is a confirmation. Maybe because I didn't create the thread?
"No-Eyes" Bellamy
GM Tip. Make full of the actions to get to know the crew.
Understood. Bellamy is just establishing himself in his job as the Cooks Mate first, at least for today (Day 2).

It took some time but I have taken over this thread.
Hopefully it'll solve some problems like not showing new posts.

Hey GM!
Is there a list of crewmen that we could approach to talk to and influence; say sidle up to next to the rail during the day, or at the dice game in the evening?

You could make a diplomacy roll or ask Sandra.
She's sort of an in built NPC to make life easier for PCs. My earlier game, we sorta killed her and are thus struggling lol.

Dear Players, I have being busy getting up the maps and the information ready.
I have updated the campaign infro. This will make it easier for you to tell me where you wish to go. I trust that OOC information remains seperate from IC.
Maps will be updated later. Do you all prefer Roll20 or google drive?
Happy gaming people as the holidays approach.
"Doc" T. J. Juckson
Re: Roll20 or google?
I can use both. I primarily use Roll20 when I gm but I know quite a few people have told me they have trouble accessing it at work, on tablets, etc.
Terry of Quent
Roll20 or Google?
No real preference. It is more important that the judge be comfortable with the tool in use than that every player is.
Reijo Ilvonen
nightdeath - Are we to continue using the Daily Tasks rolls from our original GM, found here? I will continue to, unless you'd prefer otherwise.
I'm going to do a retro post soon to cover days 1 & 2 (I am limiting him to doing nothing of consequence, since Reijo's been out of the picture - I just want to take the opportunity to flesh out my character a bit more). Then I will follow up with a Day 3 post where I catch up to everyone else...
nightdeath

Yes Please do. I simply updated locations so that you can tell me where you wish to go. At this point of time you should be reasonably aware of the ship areas.
Nowhere to go you see......on the open seas.
Reijo Ilvonen
12 Plat?? Your Gm sure was generous. That's alot of cash. I'll honor it. I missed that.
Honestly, I didn't plan it to be left on Reijo's person, as I expected everything to be taken... but when our first GM offered for us to keep one item, it seemed the most obvious choice since it was described beforehand as concealed (simply because Reijo is paranoid). Lol.
Conchobhar Shortstone is known to have lost few games with minor stakes but have won more games. He's said to be a card sharp but no one else can prove it. However he plays for high stakes, teh knowledge that several of his work is carried out by other crew members is known and he posesses a silver tongue.
So if Reijo is aware of this guy's cheating reputation, he'd be a bit more wary then, being very possessive of his hard(ly!) earned coins. Perhaps a sound plan for winning against this guy would be a good idea before gaming with him... will think about it. Spotting him counting cards or using a doctored deck and accusing him in front of everyone might not go over very well, and would likely earn us at least several enemies, sounds like.
In the meantime, just so I am aware... is there a particular skill we would normally use when gambling (e.g. Profession (gambler))? Or is it sheer luck of the dice we're relying on? I get the sense luck is not involved when gambling with Conchobhar Shortstone (e.g. play and you lose all regardless), but just curious to know how they treat regular, non-fixed gaming, thanks.

To play with this card sharp is easy.
5d13 would be your numbers.
1 to 13 to represent cards like this
Me:
Card: 5d13 ⇒ (6, 8, 7, 10, 10) = 41
In this example I have a Pair of 10s.
You:
Card: 5d13 ⇒ (12, 4, 6, 4, 7) = 33
You have a pair of fours
Player 1:
Card: 5d13 ⇒ (13, 13, 6, 4, 6) = 42
Pair of 13s and 6s
Player 2:
Card: 5d13 ⇒ (1, 7, 13, 1, 6) = 28
Pair of 1s.
Winner of this round is Player 1.
Profession Gambler DC 15 allows one reroll. Every 5 points above DC, an additional reroll.
Sleight of hand opposed by everyone at the table nets you a declared roll. as in if you rolled a 1 and you needed a 13, change the 1 to a 13.
Rare wins is somehow you get a straight. (1,2,3,4,5)
Instant jackpot and Double everything bet so far. the large the conseutive numbers the better.
Conchobhar Shortstone hasn't ever being caught cheating but his skill is incredible to the pirates.
nightdeath
|
4 of a kind or 5 of a kind also makes it hard to beat and is double the pot as well.
nightdeath
|
Okay, let's do it. Reijo's in.
Ah, the d13... only in PbP games, lol.
I have an actual d13. Got it from a con. Got i made specially cause I failed 13 conseutive saves. DC? 10-15... Level 4. Sad day manz.
Be Back on say Tuesday as I'm hit by a RL fireball.
Reijo Ilvonen
No worries, nightdeath. Hope you have Evasion! Btw...
Perception, to notice observers: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
"No-Eyes" Bellamy
Hey GM!
It looks like I succeeded in influencing the Quartermaster. Is there any way to tell how much? I mean is he suddenly our friend, or is he lukewarm when he was hostile before?
nightdeath
|
Hmm some penaties for getting the gender wrong but I guess you managed to make her less unfriendly.
Will sum up and skip a combat.
Reijo Ilvonen
The armor does make sense tactically for Reijo as well, since he's a melee fighter. If, however, he regains his arming coat, he will no longer need the leather armor. Be forewarned though... Reijo is a bit mercenary when it comes to possessions... :o

Sorry guys, being near christmas so I have got quite a few things to complete. WIll get back to scheduled gaming as soon as I can.
Reijo Ilvonen
Apologies, Christmas has me busy as well, will get back to posting soon as possible... hopefully by tomorrow night. To those of you who celebrate, have ye a jolly day o'holly an' rum.
