I made the +1 skill point/save into a trait which I called, "Failed Expedition". My other trait is Prehensile Whip.
For the hit points, does that count for the animal companion, too?
@Tomas: Yes but it didn't say which skill/save you took. And no, average hit points for animal companions and familiars.

One trait, and a +1 bonus to one skill and save of your choice.
Think of it as one regular trait, and then one specific one based on your first big adventure.
As for healing, does anyone have Use Magic Device?

That depends...do you consider a potion a device? Because I definitely have Use Magic Potion. ;)

I'll rearrange some points to get UMD. I'm our only magic user so it's fitting. I'm not going to be good at it though. It isn't a class skill and I have an 8 charisma. Luckily wands don't have a very high DC.
I think I'm going to move my +1 previous adventure bonus from Acro to UMD.

How big is the Maiden?
It occurs to me that having a full crew might be a good idea, assuming the Maiden is big enough to need one.
We might not need to fight at all if someone has a decent diplomacy score.
