Can I roll Profession (Soldier) for the soul of the Hand? Since he obviously was a fine warrior, Ludwig might have heard some tales and talks among the soldiers. Or Arcana - maybe some ancient mystery about the curse? Not sure here.
Arcana: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Profession: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Let's give it a Kn. Martial and Kn. History too, so I can get some info about the Hand and the Prince.
I'm down with the final act, and y'all can count with Sieg's big soul to level up if we try to "forge" other souls. Anything to be ready to save the world!
Edit: forgot the rolls!
Martial: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
History: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Kn Arcana
The King's Curse plagues the soul of the victim, rather than the body. Though it seems counter intuitive, the transformation of the victim into a Kingsman is actually a consequence of the corruption of their soul. How this curse came to be is not known exactly, save that it is a product of powerful, evil magic and it has only ever appeared at the behest of the enigmatic King.
To have ones will supplanted, especially by an enemy, is a fate worse than death for most.
Prof Soldier
Ludwig has extensive experience with the forces of the King that spans beyond the recent conflict. In fact, all members of the Twilight Order do to some degree or another. None among them is more infamous, and more feared, than the Hand. The Hand (presumably a man) has never been seen outside of his elegant armor nor without an escort of Kingsman at his sides. He could be thought of as a lieutenant in the Kings forces, where he appears to have the authority to command any member as he sees fit.
Rumors spread during the war that the Hand was known to often pursue goals that were normally uncharacteristic of the Kings agenda. To what ends, though, is unknown.
Kn Martial
To say the Hand is a skilled swordsman is an understatement. He is never seen without a signature arming sword at his side and his ability with it is well beyond that of even the most fierce warriors. Strangely, those who have seen the Hand fight and lived to tell the tale have said that he does not seem to practice any particular fighting style. At least, not one that is known to any mortal. Rather, it appears his natural ability is simply superior to all his foes. Even without his sword his raw strength allows him to rend armor and flesh with his bare hands. Strangely
However, the most confounding aspect, and possibly the most troubling, is that the Hand seems to approach a combat with an expectation of structure. He pushes his victims to act in certain ways and appears to go out of his way to create elaborate and elegant scenarios to frame a duel. It was also discovered that those who refused to play along were "punished" in the most heinous ways.
Kn History
The Hand was active during the King's grand crusade across the world. He was considered a field commander of the King's forces, however due to the nature of that period no records exist that could confirm or deny this. Following a battle with the Twilight Order at the Inverted Mountain, the King seemed to disappear without a trace. An with him, the Hand.

GM JC Spooks |

Kn History
Little is known about the King. Whether he has relations, where he comes from, what lead his bloody crusade, or even if he is truly a "he" at all. Thus the idea that the Distance Prince could be related to the King is dubious at best. Nonetheless, his association with the Kings forces is undeniable.
Most considered the Distant Prince a dark harbinger of sorts, a ominous portent meant to mark the coming of the Kings war host. In fact, some considered him to be something of a supernatural creature, though this would be incredibly ironic if true given that the Kings armies usually targeted such beings for outright destruction when encountered.
The movements of the Distant Prince seem to be impossible to track and he seemed to disappeared following the end of the war. However, reports continued of those who had strange and terrible dreams, and these where sometimes associated with the Distant Prince suggesting that he may have still been active in some way. These dreams were reported with increased frequency and intensity prior to the end of the world.

Paizo.com is currently having a lot of trouble loading for me, to the point where I can't access it for hours at a time. Doing my best to keep up, but feel free to bot me if it becomes a problem.

I will do so, been having a hell of a time getting into the forums late at night (the time of the day I have time to post and stuff these days).
I have a question, though as I'm not sure if we were using the RAW encumbrance rules and Siegschwert intends to stuff his backpack with as many books, tomes and scrolls as he can.

That marks the end of Act II. Just like before we will be going on a small hiatus before we begin the next portion. The game is scheduled to resume on August 1st.
In the meantime, I will still be here and available (except for the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd of this month). Should you wish to ask any questions or do any roleplaying, or even if you just have something to bring up OOC, now is the time to do so. Same thing as last time: it's fine to do stuff IC, just keep in mind that you will be limited to this hub area until the game resumes. So post what you've got to say or whatever.
With that, please wrap up any level ups or purchasing during this hiatus. When we begin the game again in August the opportunity will have passed so if you want to spend souls do it now.
One other quick announcement:
During this hiatus I will be setting up an Anima: Beyond Fantasy campaign here on the boards (I believe I may have mentioned it before). If anyone wants to be a part of this game please reach out to me, either via PM or by simply waiting until the public recruitment goes up later this month. The campaign is based heavily off the Fate series (such as Fate/Stay Night or Fate/Strange Fake) with other influences as well. If you're interested, again, get in touch with me and we can talk more about it.

So, my level-up is this:
8 HP, +1 BAB
+1 Climb, +1 Kn. (Arcana), +1 Kn. (Engineering), +1 Perception, +1 Spellcraft, +1 Swim
Armor training, bound equipment +3, Object Reading.
Feat - Extra Armorist Trick (Improved Equipment - Weapon).
I'll also change my bound armor and weapon abilities.
Weapon - +1 Scythe of Speed, cold iron (2d4/x4, P or S, 10 lbs., +1 attack at the highest BAB when full-attacking)
+4 Mithral Full Plate (AC +13, MDB +5, ACP -1, 25 lbs.)
I'll update an alias later today.

Assuming no objections, I'd like to level up as well. 'Coming into the light' seems an appropriate moment. I'd also like to use the whip; is there anything different about its stat line I'd need to know? I know we haven't identified it; in about a week, by meatspace reckoning, I'm planning on asking the Witch's disciple to help. Want to give the others a chance to react first, and wait for you to come back from your vacation.

I'll be posting later today, but first I need some DM clarification.
As per the Player's Guide, the souls needed to level up are X/10, X being the amount of exp needed to level at that interval. So a 4th level character needs 600 souls (as per the given example) because we are using the Medium Advancement Track.
Yet the Dm said from 6th to 7th was 800, instead of 1.200 that I get following the guidelines.
I simply ask because I'm a dumbass and read we had 2.712 souls, but we actually have 7.712 which means that it might be possible for at least a couple characters to afvance to 8th level (Assuming the DM did already substract Ludwig and Pengaal's level up to 7th).
Other than that we should perhaps consider getting an Estus Flask (or more) as they are 15 souls each (unless I'm reading something the wrong way) and they will prove useful.

Sorry for the extra delay, I have hit something of a writer's block and can't create a post I feel... good enough.
I will try to cool down for the day and return tomorrow, with a good post I hope but a post at the very least.

I unfortunately have to apologize as well-
Work has picked up immensely, and I have to withdraw from the game. I know it's sudden and I'm the healer, but unfortunately life calls.
Sorry guys :(

Siegschwert looks down to the trap "Mmmh... Annoying little device..." he mutters before trying to pry it open using his sword as a leverage as well as his hand.
What should I roll? Strength? CMB to escape a grapple? I can always Path of War my way through it, to be honest, maneuvers rule
Effects Sharp jaws (atk +10 melee 2d6+3); sharp jaws spring shut around the creature’s ankle and halve the creature’s base speed (or hold the creature immobile if the trap is attached to a solid object); the creature can escape with a DC 20 Disable Device check, DC 22 Escape Artist check, or DC 26 Strength check.
You can also take the spike out of the ground with a DC 20 strength check.
