Pallas tries to save his foe, though he is still very much dead. Apparently it is his time.
What was his hp total before I critted him? Just out of curiosity.

![]() |

He had 62/71 damage on him. You did another 60. So -51.
Yikes! :(

![]() |

Then how many pieces is my guy in?
Are we having a "how many pieces can I chop my foes into" contest? ;)

![]() |

Oops, I forgot to make my performance check when I "vanquished" my foe: Performance combat check: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

Hearing Pallas call Brachus uses his hasted speed to quickly move over and check out the monk for signs of life. First checking the top half, then moving over towards the bottom half
Heal check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
"It seems you got a bit carried away. This man is no longer alive and even if I put the pieces back together won't make it for the next round of the tournament"
Not sure if the other monks are alive, but I'm offering my help with healing their wounds - using the heal check to close of any open wounds or at least try to stabilize them

While his monks set up the fight stage for the next match, the Emissary decides to amuse the crowd during this intermissions by hosting tests of skill, strength, fortitude, and will. In this challenge, items are placed on stone pedestals positioned about the arena. Competitors must race about the ring, and using their bare hands, feet, and heads, smash as many of the objects as possible. Objects must be broken with a single attack, and objects that are damaged but not broken are replaced with new materials after each attempt.
The objects are: a coconut, a block of ice, a metal bar, a wooden quarterstaff, a river stone, stacked boards, stacked bricks, and stacked clay tiles. You can break them with either attacks with unarmed strikes or break them with strength checks. Your team gets one try with each item. And if you fail to break an item, you take some damage from the attempt.

You can stabilize the other two. They didn't get bisected by the party.

I'm a little unsure about this competition. Do we each get a shot at this, or do we have to pick one of us to go? Also, how many Victory Points did we accumulate, and do those carry over?

![]() |

Pallas says a quick prayer over the bodies of the fallen, looking up to the sun and whispering words in Kelish, his arms outstretched with his palms facing up.

![]() |

Also, if this is a team effort...can we pick one and buff him? If so, I'll guidance whomever we pick to do this. I guess Good Hope is still up as well? How much time has passed since the fight?

![]() |

If we count the battle as a fraction of a minute and it's been five minutes since the end of the massacre (it wasn't really a fight), Good Hope will last for 6 more minutes. Haste, of course, has expired.
Pallas speaks up, although he is still clearlydisturbed by the deaths he and the others caused during the last fight. "If there's smashing to be done, I elect Vahanian. I have an adamantine scimitar you can borrow if you like. It's not magical, but it's awfully good at smashing."

I think i have the strongest strength at 24 base before rage and all. Does good hope help with strength checks? Or would unarmed strikes be best?

![]() |

"Natural weapons only Palas. Big V here is using his fists, feet, head, maybe his teeth. Breaking a metal bar using his teeth would be very impressive too. "

![]() |

good hope helps with strong checks too.

![]() |

"Ha ha. I might. But i can break it with a good bend i think." V says.
If i can enlarge, rage, and maybe guidance I would be at a +12 i think

![]() |

"I'm sorry, I didn't understand. Taldane is still a second language to me at best. Well, in that case I do not have much to offer other than the spell already surrounding us. I could enlarge you again, Vahanian, if you think that would help."

"Remember that the spell comes from a wand, which means that it only lasts for 1 minute, however."

a coconut, a block of ice, a metal bar, a wooden quarterstaff, a river stone, stacked boards, stacked bricks, and stacked clay tiles = 8 different ones, assume a move to get between each of them and go as fast as you can = 8 rounds, so enlarge for a minute should be long enough to work, just use the guidance on the one that sounds the hardest - metal bar?, since we can't re-cast it in between.

Pallas inquires if gauntlets are allowed, or only bare hands.

Vahanian easily breaks the coconut and the block of ice. But the metal bar is too much. Vahanian takes: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 8) = 15
The quarterstaff is also broken like it was made of paper but the river stone ends up breaking one of the barbarian's fingers. 1 dex damage.
Stacked boards and stacked bricks are no match for the mighty Vahanian but the clay tiles stand strong. Vahanian takes: 1d4 ⇒ 4
While it was a valiant effort, the barbarian does not successfully complete the challenge.

Pallas claps the Kellid on the back as he returns. "Well done, Pathfinder! You certainly gave a good showing, and its better than any of us could have done."

Interspersed with dozens of bouts between the other contestants hoping to move to the next round of the contest, the Emissary offers exhibition matches between randomly chosen combatants and either noncombatants or captured monsters, some in the Grand Pavilion and others hosted elsewhere. You receive word that you have been selected for one such exhibition, to be held in a small fighting ring a short distance from the Grand Pavilion. When you arrive, you find Kiang Zhen waiting for you with a large, closed sack at her feet. As several dozen onlookers watch eagerly from the stands, the oni directs you into the center of the ring before chanting something quietly over the sack and motioning in your direction. At Kiang Zhen’s gesture, a massive headless form marches into the ring carrying two fearsome axes. You can retcon healing as needed.

Party is up!
Make a will save DC 22 vs fear. If you fail you are panicked for 12 rounds. If you pass, you are shaken for 1 round.

Pallas can not seem to identify it.
Actually, that's 22 with good hope. Does that make it?

OKay fine. :) It is a Shenzuzhou. It is an undead that is controlled by the person who is in possession of its head. You get 1 fact.
Defenses, please.

![]() |

Besides the standard undead traits, it has SR, DR/Magic, and channel resistance.
Pallas whispers to his companions. "Careful, the undead creature is resistant to spells and holy energies." Free action to communicate out of turn.
