Valda:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Dave:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Joey:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Maria:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Isagoras:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
As Valda looks into the other room, Dave notices something dripping down out of the ceiling. "Look out!"
rando1000 |
Initiative:
Dave:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Valda:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Isagoras:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Maria:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Joey:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Very rapidly, the puddle of slime that falls from the ceiling forms into a creature from your worst nightmares. The thing is a horrid mass of barbed tentacles, glaring eyes, and gnashing teeth, twisting upon itself and reshaping into new forms.
Creature:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Always alert, Valda acts first, followed by Dave, Maria and joey.
Valda Simmons |
"Yaoi, Dave," Valda replied as she raises the recently unjammed gun. "What is about to happen to you is definitely yaoi."
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Action Point to hit: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Snowball (cold damage): 4d8 ⇒ (5, 2, 6, 6) = 19
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
Pondering before he makes his move, Joey calls back, "If I can't transform into a Sailor Scout catgirl, then I don't want any part of this Hentai.
Raising his gun to aim the abhorrent abomination, Joseph fires his pistol.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
DAMN YOU DAMMABLE OOZES AND YOUR IMMUNITY TO CRITS!!!! DAMN YOU LOW DAMAGE ROLL ON MY NAT20 HIT!! DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!!
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
RANDO KNEW WE'D START CRITTING!! That's why he dropped the ooze-ball on us! Dx Also, I just realized that my last two damage rolls have been a 2+1.... RAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Sorry, guys. I missed the fact that Maria had posted and didn't know you were waiting on me.
Isagoras summons the same fire elemental, which attacks:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
1d4 ⇒ 3
Reflex to avoid burn:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
The horrid creature sets about attacking:
Dave:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Dave is missed entirely.
Fire Elemental:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Top of round: everyone can act before the creature

"Usually, I'm all for suggesting folks try anal, but...not with a tentacle monster."
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Ray of Frost: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
Joey coughs for a bit, trying to act as naturally as possible and adds, "Right... Because that'd totally be weird... Ahem..."
Taking aim at the foul, horrendous, certainly-not-his-fetish beast before them, Joey fires another round. Joey can almost be seen silently moves his lips mouthing, "I'm sorry!"
Attack (Jetlagged): 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 2 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Mmmmmm, fickle dice xD Oh, I just remembered! I'm jetlagged still xD Is it minus two on damage rolls too, or just skill checks and attacks?
rando1000 |
[ooc]Just D20 checks. Unfortunately, 10 doesn't cut it (it did 1st round because it was flat footed, but it's not anymore). You can try an AP if you want.[/dice]
Valda's attack appears to damage the creature normally, but it's really hard to tell with a writhing mass of teeth and tentacles. Nevertheless, it appears to have fewer...bits than it did before. That's gotta be a good sign.
Isagoras' elemental continues to attack the beast.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
1d4 ⇒ 3
It misses. Isagoras himself casts acid splash:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
1d3 ⇒ 3
Maria can still act before the creature, and Joey can spend an AP to attempt to make his attack hit if he chooses.
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
Sure! What could it hurt, right?
AP for Attack: 1d6 ⇒ 2
LOL Well, probably not the beast!
rando1000 |
skipping maria for now...she can act twice next round or after the creature.
Attacks on Dave:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
A single hit on Dave. I need a Will Save.
Attacks on Fire Elemental:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Isagoras' fire elemental is destroyed.
Dave S. Wavaski |
ABILITY DAMAGE. Yippee yay.
Dave's eye twitches slightly behind his shades, but he otherwise makes no outward indication of being affected by the strange creature. "It's trying to mess with my mind."
He makes to hit it in retaliation.
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
"Izzy, if you have any idea what this thing is, now would be the time to voice it!"
rando1000 |
Reflex for 1/2:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
I'll have Isagoras summon another fire elemental. Hopefully he'll be back sometime today or tomorrow.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
1d4 ⇒ 4
Maria's action. She can take two since she missed out last round.

Acting on Maria's behalf, she will summon a Fire Elemental like the one Isagoras had last round, and cast Burning Hands this round:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
1d4 ⇒ 2
Reflex Save vs Burn:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Burning Hands damage:
4d4 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 4) = 11
Reflex Save vs Burning hands:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Isagoras creates a new elemental himself:
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
1d4 ⇒ 2
Reflex Save vs Burn:
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
The creature attacks Dave twice and each elemental once.
On Dave:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
I need one Will Save from Dave
On Elementals:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
You guys are almost done with this thing.
Top of round, all PCs can act.
Valda Simmons |
"And you're still wearing pants. We're all impressed!"
Valda shot at it again.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

"Indeed, the very Multiverse itself is in ecclesiastic euphoria at the thought of you still yet retaining pants. Of course you may very well ponder the possibilities of a counter-attack upon this unfathomable horror's own mind by simply turning around and threatening to de-pants yourself. I'd gage that would blast it's sanity within nanoseconds."
He still has time raise an eyebrow in Valda's direction. "Do you approach all problems with the solution of trying anal? One would wonder what the barristers think of you if they screw up your orders with too much foam."
Isagoras grabs handfuls of green aether-stuff from the living air about them and hurls an Acid Dart at the will-blasting elder thing.
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
Raising his pistol, Joey fires another round before taking a mental note, Okay, two more left. Gotta reload soon.
"Coffee sounds rather wonderful right about now!"
Attack (Jetlagged): 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 2 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
GOF F+**ING DAMMMIT WITH THESE BLATED 2 DAMAGES!!!!
rando1000 |
Joey's bullet pushes the creature over the threshold; it dissolves into goo, and drips into the cracks in the rocky floor.
Moving into the next cave, you find an unconscious form (our new PC) heavily damaged, with a guitar case beside him. It looks like he might have tried to defeat the beast himself, but did not quite succeed. It's lucky you came along.
Dave S. Wavaski |
With the threat neutralized finally, he relaxes his stance, not even letting himself flinch at the pain. He peeks ahead before the party, noticing the injured man up ahead. "Damn... And I thought I got f!+%ed up. If everyone's done fantasizing about me and those tentacles, seems there was someone who came here before us. A native, by the look of him. Maria, you got any more of your healing jazz?"
Maria Socorro Castillo Santiago |
"Yes, barely." she says, as she traces an inverted cross on the man's forehead.
Casting Infernal Healing, since that's a guaranteed 10 points of compared to Cure Light Wounds being a roll. Just don't anyone use Detect Evil on him for the next minute. Haha.
Pavel Dmitrovic |
The prone man remains still for the whole minute of healing, but a sharp intake of breath tells you he's probably trying to fake unconsciousness. Another five seconds after the spell ends, the man leaps up, a scimitar-shaped sword in his hand and his eyes wild as he looks over the band before him, giving the group a chance to get a look at him.
Not a moment later he shouts, Ко си ти? ко те је послао? Говорити! When no one answers, and he sees none of the group appear to be local, he repeats, Quis es? Qui misit vos? Loquere! hoping that there is someone educated amongst them.
Who are you? who sent you? Speak!
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
Hearing the man speaking in Latin, Joey steps forward with his hands raised between the two swordsmen, looking to each as he says, "Easy, Dave!
Mitescere! Mitescere! Hic non laedere. Meum nomen est Joesph Adams. Quid tu hic agis? Quid tibi hic?"
Looking at the man he, tries to appear as non-threatening as possible, though he doesn't rule out the possibility that this man may turn hostile at any moment.
Pavel Dmitrovic |
The man falters when Dave speaks, confusion crossing his face. When he finally speaks, his tongue fumbles momentarily over the words, You... American? Fery far fram home, comrade... He stares Dave down for another few seconds before slowly sheathing his sword, missing the first couple times due to his desire to not break eye contact and says, I put my piece away for now, but you answer my quvestions first, "Joseph."
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
"Yes, we all are," he says as he spreads his arms out to showcase the others as if he were a model from the Price is Right in a past life before letting his arms drop to his side. Readjusting himself to stand upright, he nods and says, "Sure. I'll try to answer anything I can. What is your question?"
Pavel Dmitrovic |
I want to know who you are, why you are here, and who you work for, he repeats, this time in English, as he shuffles to his guitar case. Unlike a normal guitar case, you would notice this one has a triangle base. The man pushes it onto its side and, while keeping the group in his sight, pushes on two different points of the case and pushes, causing the back to fall loose and revealing a velvet lining with an obvious place for his sword, and a pair of handguns. Gingerly, he reaches for them while speaking in a soft tone, these are going in my holster, under my jacket. Despite the softness of his voice, his tone makes it clear that it's not a request.
Valda Simmons |
"Technically, I think we're freelancers," Valda replied thoughtfully. "Our friend here, Isagoras, asked us to help him and the Organization he works for. We're here to retrieve something his people left in this place. Apparently along with some really messed up creatures. Seriously, who looks and at an owl and a bear and thinks, 'You know, with the right mood music...' or looks at there jell-o and goes 'if only this was alive and willing to forcefully cavity search people' and decides those are good ideas?"
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
Nodding his head to Valda's idea, he takes out his notebook and writes down Magical Jell-O before returning it to his coat.
"You could say I work for 'the people' - I'm a Private Investigator. I could show you my credentials, but you'd likely believe they're forgeries, eh?" With a smirk, Joey opens his trench coat to show his own holster as well before letting his coat go. "We're not so different - we like to assess all the possibilities in a given situation. I already introduced myself. You've already met our beloved, diplomat Dave. The others," he turns and points to each as he names them, "Are Isagoras, Valda, Maria, and the single-most important member of our party - Blackfur." He glances down to his cat as he finishes the introductions, turning to face the man again. "You wouldn't happen to mind answering the same questions now, would you?" Reaching into his pocket, he pulls out his pack of cigarettes and lights one before offering the man one as well.
If leaving shotguns lying around is wrong, I don't want to be right xD
Pavel Dmitrovic |
... You may call me Pavel, Pavel says after looking to each person individually, seeming to either burn the name and the face to his brain or determining if he's seen them before, and I work for myself. Though I suppose you are after the same relic as I, which complicates my plans somewhat... He scratches his stubble as he thinks out loud, I don't believe I can take all of you on my own... So what happens now?
Pavel Dmitrovic |
Personal reasons, Pavel sharply retorts, suffice it to say that the relic is the key to my survival.
Joseph "Joey" Adams |
The Investigator thinks to himself for a moment, Survival? Why would this be so important to his own survival?
Putting away his smokes, Joey asks, "I'm glad you're reconsidering murdering us, but how did you get here? Just stumbled upon this place? Or where you informed of it's location?"
