Isagoras just nods heartily at Joey's story. He had been trying to summon his titanic intellect to make a counter-argument that Joey is not, in fact, a loser. But running away from free kisses is pretty lam3xorz. And on the cheek no less!
If he had a month he might be able to shed a good light on it, but this? Not even Plato himself could convince Joey he was cool.
He just comes up to Joey and pats him on the back. "Well I'm sure you're very punctual."
It was all he had.

99 more post to go! O:
Looking up to Isagoras with a quivering lip and the eyes of pitiful chihuahua that was locked out in the rain, Joey nods and says in a low tone, "Thanks Izzy. You always know just what to say."
Though he still felt bad, he rose up and leaned against the wall beside them, rubbing his index and his index finger imagining there was a cigarette there.

You have entered the 1st chamber; Isagoras has cast detect magic, and found none aside from that carried by the party. Valda has a light spell, and Isagoras has a lantern.
There is one exit from the first room. Does anyone do anything else before moving on?
rando1000
Unfortunately, Isagoras' trap detection attempts were unsuccessful. Leaving the first chamber into the second room, a large metal blade falls toward Valda.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6
Valda barely dodges out of the way of the sharp metal, rolling into the room beyond. An ancient mechanism in the wall slowly begins to retract the blade. Once it's high enough off the floor, everyone has enough time to get into the next room before it resets.
The next room has a single exit, a spiral staircase leading down. The room itself is more intricately carved than the first room. The walls are covered with frescoes and ancient writings, most of which are references to mythology from various cultures.
Knowledge/Occult, Knowledge/Arcane, or Knowledge/History could get more information.

Isagoras looks askance at Dave. "Never did I include discernment of the corporeal threats in mine wheelhouse. I had thought that THEE would have stepped up to leaven thine own effects with mine as but supplement, so poor is the musician what blames the reed for his lack of wind."
Obscure insult: Wind instruments use a wooden insert that must be kept moist. Or at least I assume that's why that hot chick in my middle school band class kept licking her clarinet. That she kept looking at the cute trombonist I'm sure had nothing to do with it.
Isagoras, glad that he is now surrounded by obscure runes and writings unknown and arcane, peers deeply and applies his substantial knowledge.
Knowledge-Arcane: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Knowledge-Occult: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

sry. been sick. still am. ugh, just sneezed so hard my lungs hurt.
Valda Simmons
"He's saying that he thought you were looking for mundane traps, while he was looking for magical ones." Valda glanced at the big ass blade that had nearly chopped her in half. "All things considered, let's all look for all the traps so I don't to be half the woman I am today."
rando1000
Dave realizes that the frescoes contain mostly references to eldritch threats from human legend, beasts beyond horror and memory. The frescoes generally have bad endings for the humans.
Isagoras recognizes the writings as historical documents of his order, very ancient documents from the order's founding, written in languages from all across the world (though mostly Latin, Greek, and Hebrew). Though he can't read all of it, the writings are the equivalent of founding documents such as the Declaration of Independence, or perhaps legal documents such as the Magna Carta; very old writings that tell the early history of his Order.

Okay, been pretty slow here. Advancing the plot, the heroes move down the stairs. Since Valda was first through the doorway, I'll assume she's first until told otherwise.
The stairs continue down in a spiral (inside the rock; the outside is not visible) around the funnel, deeper into the earth, until after about 100', they end and a passage veers off to the right.
You come across a large-ish cavern about 40' on each side. The room is lit by some form of red natural lighting, and a pile of dead avian and rodent bones lies in one corner. Dominating the room is a gigantic beast with the body of a bear and the head of a giant owl (oh, yes I did).
Initiative:
Dave:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Valda:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Isagoras:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Maria:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Joey:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Owlbear:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Valda acts first, followed by the owl-bear.

"That looked like the worst misfire in he history of misfires for some reason, what happened, did you roll a one on everything?"
Dave moves around, to get some momentarily flanking with Valda before she decide to pack up shop and move away.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 2 = 12
Dave's blade goes wide, "S!$!, I think I caught it too!"

Joey eyes the beast and quickly deduces in his mind, This thing looks strong.. Let's make it not-strong!
"Let's see if Maria's lessons have paid off, he calls out as he shapes his hand before pointing it at the monster. "Debilito!!"
A Ray of Enfeeblement is cast towards the Owl Bear.
Attack (Touch, Jet-lagged): 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 - 2 = 2 Fort save DC 15 for half penalty
...But Joey too has seemed to have caught Valda's bug as he watches in horror that his pointed finger doesn't seem to do anything.
"B'wah??" He gasps in confusion, exacerbated by his lack of magic-casting.
Unless Rando is counts it as having fired off in a random direction away from the Owlbear ;) Then Joey will feel empowered and accomplished until he realizes that he not only missed the bear, but risked hitting and/or completely hit a team-mate. Your call, RandBRO. I'll roll for the Enfeebled damage if you decide to do that ;)
But can we take a moment to appreciate the nat1 epidemic we're experiencing? xD We're all going to die!!
rando1000
brutal. I don't...how?
Rather than have you waste the spell, we'll just leave it at a fail to cast. That way you can try again next ground.
Isagoras (player on vaca) will casts Summon Monster II and, using a little trick he learned from the Agni cult, a small fire elemental pops into being and attacks the strange creature.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
1d4 ⇒ 4
Save vs burn:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Top of round, Valda's action.
Valda Simmons
Clutching the dud weapon in one hand, Valda backed up a few feet to cast.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Valda hurled a Mudball spell, blinding the bear...owl...thing.
DC13 Reflex for it to clear the mud, or a standard action to do it anyway.
rando1000
Reflex (next round):
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
The creature is pretty unsure what to do with the mud, so it swings wildly at Dave and Valda.
Valda Claw:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Blinded Miss Chance:1d100 ⇒ 51
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Dave Claw and Bite:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Blinded Miss Chance:1d100 ⇒ 27
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Blinded Miss Chance:1d100 ⇒ 35
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
The first wild sing connects with Valda, and she takes another 7 HP (remember you can spend an AP to avoid 5 of these). The creature misses Dave.
Other PCs may act now

"Damn– Let's just hope that bad luck has already dried up!" He twists to the side, hoping to flank with the elemental.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Once in position, he swings his sword...
Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 2 + 2 = 33
Confirm?: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 2 + 2 = 28
Full Damages!: 6d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 1, 1, 5) + 10 = 31
Dave Proceeds to shove his blade deep into one of the owlbear's blinded eyes, taking advantage of it's vulnerability! "Hell yeah!" Feeling invigorated, he spends a ki and expands his focus into another attack!
Extra Ki Attack: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 9 + 2 + 2 = 28
Base damage + SA: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 2, 1) + 5 = 12

"Yeah! Get it, Dave!"
Moving around so that his comrades weren't in the way, he pulls his gun out and takes aim. Thank God, I forgot to load the salt rounds!
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Between Dave and Joey, the creature draws its last breath. There is nothing useful in the chamber itself. You can see dim light at the end of a long, narrow tunnel leading to the surface, the right size that birds and small mammals could slide or be thrown down it. Evidently, that's how the creature was being fed.
A single doorway on the left leads to a sloping hall, at the end of which you can barely see a room at the end of your light.
Valda Simmons
"Well, you know, ow." Valda examined the rends in her torso and arm. "Really ow. I really need to learn some healing magic - a friend told me about a cool spell that uses holy water to heal you up. I just need an easy way into the local parish, and I'll be sorted...but until then, yeah, I need fixing up."
Dave S. Wavaski
Dave gives a thumbs up toward maria for using her fancy voodoo magic, before turning to Joe. A look of fierce contemplation washes over his face, as if trying to work out the strongest morale dilemma of his life. He really gave it to that owlbear, then Joe comes in from the side to steal the glory. Should he really let him get away with that? Or should he stand his ground?
The choices weigh heavily on his mind for half a second before he claps a hand down on Joe's shoulder. "Nice shot in the end there buddy, taking it down before it could hit us again is a win every time." Dave decides to be a bro... just this once.
Joseph "Joey" Adams
Joesph's eyes glisten like a high school anime girl staring into the eyes of her beloved senpai as Dave speaks. His mouth slowly forms a smile and he thinks to embrace the ninja for a moment before remembering that neither of them swing that way. Regardless, he returns with an elbow bump and thumbs-up Dave before winking and saying, "We all know you let me have that one! That was a very Bro move of you to make, bro!"
Seeing Maria healing Valda reminded him to remind the gang, "Oh, and don't forget: I have six extracts of Cure "Light" Wounds - ya'know, like from those nerdy tabletop games that none of us play. So if anyone needs some extra-yet-minor healing, I'll be happy to help. Pray we'll never need to use them though..."
rando1000
Perception checks to search for traps on the doorway before heading down the sloping hallway to the next chamber:
Valda:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Dave:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Joey:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
We have a winner! Joey notes several small notches in the hall just outside the room; they seemingly contain poison darts, set to fly out at anyone walking into the hallway.
You can either attempt to disarm the trap, or try to set it off somehow (well, I suppose just jumping through and hoping for the best is also an option, but probably not the best one).
Joseph "Joey" Adams
"Whoa, whoa! Easy guys! Looks like Isagoras' peeps have left us some traps here. If I had to wager, it looks like some sort of projectile gets launched from there whenever it's activated." Pointing in the generally direction of the notches on the wall before crouching down and thinking out loud. "Gotta be a way to disarm it, right? C'mon, Dave - it's your time to shine now! This type of stuff is your forte isn't it? All the pressure is on you now!"
Dave S. Wavaski
"What, trap? I could give that a try, sure. Give me a moment..." Dave shrugs his dufflebag odd, and looks through some of the pockets. In the end, he withdraws what looks a very fancy lockpick's case, and kneels down to start working on the thing.
Disable Device + Masterwork Thieve Tools: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 2 = 18
Disable Device + Masterwork Thieve Tools: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 2 = 19
Disable Device + Masterwork Thieve Tools: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 2 = 33
He seems to be having a little trouble at first, though he dosn't seem overly worried. A look of realization crosses his face in the end, however. "Well s%#&, now that's interesting..."
I hope I'm recalling this right, but this trap should be DC 20, and his modifiers shoulda prevent it from outright triggering.
Joseph "Joey" Adams
And I'm just over here waiting for Rando to be like, "The DC on this specific trap is actually 250.. You all die painfully slow. It was a lava pit fall disguised as a poison dart trap. Disarming it was how you activated it!" XD
rando1000
Dave manages to disarm the trap, and the group is free to travel downward. At the bottom of the downward slope, you reach a dark room, this one lit by dim phosphorescent purple material of some sort. Your light puts you in normal light conditions. The room is similar in size to the last one.
The air is kind of thick down here. Another exit slopes downward from here, spiraling in a little, and a second exit leads into an antechamber.

Dave puts away his tools, standing triumphantly. "No problem for the D-Man. I was worried for a moment tat this trap was far more complicated then it let on, but naw, naw. We're all alive and not burning in a pit of lava that was secretly under the dart trap. Let's see what other fun surprises await us."
Valda Simmons
Do we mind if I assume we took a few minutes out to unjam my gun?
Valda glanced into the antechamber. She'd always preferred to go floor by floor, making sure nothing was behind before continuing.
