Hmm. Your last post you were describing my hit so while I check the boards nearly constantly I had no idea I was up. and I do not recall moving up...
Still under the effects of her Blade Song Shimmer attacks the creature behind Vynirsia.

Your ac varies, but if it is 19 right now and not the 23, shimmer you take dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Round 3, heroes are up
Raina Kai |
Raina will move in to the thick of it and attack a twig blight.

AC should be 17/21. The better AC was when I had my Dex wrong. Sorry. She take the hit.Shimmer Darkstar |
Bleeding from a small wound Shimmer sees no other option than to keep fighting. She attacks the twig creature behind her.
Rapier: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 141d8 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (3) = 11
DoubleGold |
botting, Ceidith dual attacks with short sword hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (8) = 13
hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (8) = 13 dmg: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) + 3 = 16 and 2nd dmg: 1d6 ⇒ 4 which hits and kills two twig blights.
Then Holgar swings at two twig blights hit: 6 + 1d20 ⇒ 6 + (5) = 11 dmg: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
and second attack hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (7) = 12 dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 6
and he hits neither, then they go
hit: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (13) = 16
hit: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (14) = 17 and he takes half of dmg: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7
then the heroes finish them off easily and the areas goes silent.
Heroes You know you can fortify yourself in one of these buildings get a short rest, possibly a long rest with a small chance of a random encounter every 2 hours.
Raina Kai |
We got surrounded back there pretty quickly, and those zombies really hurt. We need to be more careful. We should try and be as quiet as possible and explore a single building at a time to ensure we don't get surrounded.
Maybe send a scout forward and report what's in the buildings, and if the scout is spotted, draw them back to the rest of us and we can take them out more easily and on our own terms. What do you all think?
I also noticed that fire was pretty effective against those blights. Does everyone have fire attacks? I don't - I specialize in water. Maybe we need torches.
DoubleGold |
Holgar has been rather inactive, going to roll hit dice for him, ps if he hasn't posted again by the time part three is done, I will have to remove him in part 4 to speed up the game.
hit dice Holgar: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Will give people time to roleplay this scene out, then will push forward tomorrow morning.
Vynirsia |
Spend a Hit Die HD: 1d8 ⇒ 6
I can Poison, corrupt the mind or blast with pure magic, but fire is not in my repertoire. If we wish to scout, I am no sneak, but I can shift my form - though I'm not sure it will fool these twigs or simple dead. Though I can also move quickly when called upon to do so.
DoubleGold |
Off into the distance 100 to 150 feet, heroes can see a ruined store, a smith's house, a log cabin, and another 100 to 150 feet past that a herbalist shop, a statue, an old garrison, a cottage and 350 total feet out, a large mansion. There are trees and bushes along the way, so stealth is an option.
*Klava* |
"We should probably check out the commerce areas first, then the living quarters, culminating with the mansion last. I think we should try and gather survivors together. Numbers will increase their chances of living."
Raina Kai |
I was totally thinking Ceideth could sneak around, but he hadn't posted in nearly a week.
Well, for a scout, I can turn into an animal and see what's around.
If the party agrees to that, Raina will shift into a constrictor snake (phb 305) and scout out the other buildings in the order Klava suggested.
DoubleGold |
Sure, Raina, I need an order of which buildings you go in first. Some creatures will react, some will not, but you will be a snake, one of the few creatures that creatures around here will not mess with, even zombies might not chase you, I need one stealth check for every building you explore, with advantage. Their dex is +2, and if you are trained in stealth, you still will be so. 2+stealth if you have it +1d20 rolled twice.
Raina Kai |
We'll start with the ruined store, then Smith's, then log cabin. If I survive those, then move on to the next set: herbalists, Garrison, cottage. After that, go back and report. Any building I fail, I'll scurry back to my allies, taking a long way back to avoid attracting more enemies.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 161d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 91d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 211d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 201d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Shimmer Darkstar |
Was traveling over a long weekend to see the eclipse. Back now.
I can scout. Don't mind scouting a bit. Have I missed my chance?
DoubleGold |
since Ceidith and Shimmer didn't specify, we will assume they are scouting the nearest building the ruined store.
Two people and one snake scout ahead and sneak up to the ruined store.
perception: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (5) = 5
perception: 0 + 1d20 ⇒ 0 + (13) = 13
Ceidith and Raina sneak up to the ruined store, while Shimmer gets spotted. There are two spiders here, but only 1 sees Shimmer. Inits and map coming up, you may try to dash into the woods to try to lose the spider, percentage dice rolled for that, alternatively, if you kill the spider before it takes its turn, the other one won't be alerted.
DoubleGold |
Map updated
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (2) = 5 Ceidith
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (5) = 8 Shimmer
init: 2 + 1d20 ⇒ 2 + (10) = 12 Raina the snake
init: 3 + 1d20 ⇒ 3 + (10) = 13 the spider
Your options are dash and run or attack. Since neither Ceidith or Raina was seen, they have advantage on attacks. If you plan to attack, make sure to kill the spider before it gets its turn
Nevermind, it went before you all, which changes plans probably, however, Ceidith and Raina are still hidden.
One spider alerts the other, the 2nd spider won't get its action till round 2.
The spider will shoot its web at Shimmer hit: 5 + 1d20 ⇒ 5 + (13) = 18 and if it hits, you are restrained and must make a str dc 12 to escape.
All heroes are up Ceidith and Raina are still considered hidden for the first round.
DoubleGold |
Klava will move towards the combat. Double moving.
This is actually like 100+ feet away, the two maps are not connected, you would need to make a perception check of 20 to actually notice combat has broken out. And it would take you 2 full rounds double moving to reach the other map. When I said all heroes, I meant the three people stealth.
Raina Kai |
So I just realized that Raina can't become a snake because they have a water speed, and the land druid can't pick anything with a water speed at this level. Do you want to just remove the water speed from the snake, or do you want me to pick a new animal?
